Long time razor, first time electric
Different bodies, different skin, it stands to reason every lady will have different types of hair too. I have dark blonde hair, but my leg and armpit hair comes in between thick/thin, and dark black. When I was a kid, my mother taught me to shave with a hand held razor blade--10-15 years ago, electric shavers couldn't compare at all. Especially with my leg hair. I tried one, once, an itty bitty thing on my legs and all it did was pull hair, scrape my skin and leave an awful red road-like rash. So back then (eons ago, when we women clacked rocks together to communicate) I dismissed electric shavers entirely. This Christmas (2013) I was lucky to have the family gift me a few extra dollars to spend on my own gifts. I started thinking about the fact that I shave less as I get older, and the utterly ridiculous prices on razors for women, razor kits--and wondered--how much has changed in electric razors from my rock clacking days? This shaver caught my eye. 1.) Perfectly and reasonably priced. Wet and Dry--meaning if I was taking a shower or bath I could weed wack my legs into some semblance of smoothness or if I was just running out the door and was starting some five o'clock shadow I could fix it up and keep going. 2.) High ratings and reviews from the lovely people of Amazon. So I said, "Let's do (sheer?) it!" Arrived really fast--four days; packaged perfect. No damage to the package or the box the shaver came in. Relatively simple and easy to open with no-nonsense instructions. First thing I noted was how super light and perfect it felt in hand. Second thing I noticed is that it recommends replacing the inner blade ONCE. A. YEAR. Comparing to how much I spend on razors a week/two weeks--I am seeing saving myself dollar signs. Second thing I did was IMMEDIATELY put it on it's charger and let it sit all day. I read an earlier review that said to make sure it was fully charged for the better shave and use. So--fast forward to night time, I hop in the shower and make sure to soak my legs, armpits very well and let the steam from the shower work a bit before grabbing this baby and going to mow-town. Turning it on revealed it didn't sound like I was in a nest of really loud, really angry hornets--so that was an immediate plus. I used shaving cream on my legs and arm pits and began shaving. Legs: Not a single issue. No leg hairs were pulled, mangled or caught. I didn't cut anything and nothing stung. Arm pits: 1 arm pit went smooth as baby bottoms. The other armpit I noticed that some of my skin was getting caught/immediate red bumps rash. I'm pretty sure that it's the shape of that armpit, because I have used the razor every night since then and the same spot catches. I am sure that the shape of your legs, your skin type and body hair type, how long it's charged and how clean it is all contributes to how well this razor works or not. I haven't had any red bumps/rashes or pulled skin on my legs EXCEPT for the one armpit. NOTE: I haven't tried this razor on dry skin, and I am not sure I will because the results in the shower with shaving cream is almost exactly like that of using a hand-held razor. Too long: didn't read summary: I would recommend this razor for ladies with light to medium thick body hair. It works like a charm in the shower/bath with shaving cream. It's remarkably affordable, the rechargable batteries can be replaced with better ones if you like, and it's easy to handle. My legs are smooth and it's already saved me money. Check it out, kay?

Closest shave I ever felt in an electric shaver and great price!
I only just recently got this, and normally I wait a few weeks before reviewing a product, but I have to say that this exceeded my expectations and I am so happy with this product that I feel it's only right to just review it now. I used to buy a much cheaper (1/2 the price of this) wet/dry shaver, but I had to keep buying them on an every-other-month basis (at least) because they would die. They also gobbled up batteries. I was still fine with using them and budgeting for them because they were so cheap, but we are about to go on a much longer family beach vacation than we normally stay, and since my last cheapie electric razor just died, I really wanted to get something way more reliable (but not bust the bank). Plus, I was tired of buying batteries for something like this. I figured out quickly that I'm not saving much money if I am having to replace batteries often. When using any kind of electric shaver as opposed to regular disposable razors, I always figure it's just a given that you're never going to get as close of a shave. For me, this is actually a good thing. I unfortunately grow coarse leg hair really fast - as in, right after using a nice, new (and expensive - I don't buy cheap ones), disposable razor head, by mid to end of day I already feel a little "stubbly". The double whammy for me is that if I use a razor too much (more than every few days), I get massive razor burn and ingrown hairs faster than the blink of an eye no matter how many different techniques I use (special shaving lotions, moisturizing shaving creams, exfoliation first, "shave with the grain then against technique", etc...trust me, I've tried it ALL!) to carefully shave. It's super frustrating. When getting a decently close shave but not SUPER close shave, I don't get the razor burn or ingrown hairs. Especially in areas I do NOT need that to happen. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. At 40 years old, I would have thought this part of my life would get a little easier. Nope. Sorry for all the TMI, but if you are a woman who was unfortunate enough to inherit horrid, rapidly-growing coarse leg hair genes like me, I think you will appreciate this electric shaver like I do. The price is right, and if you have to do something similar to what I have to in order to make sure you don't feel like you are a freak with leg hair that seems to have a mind of its' own (aka, the "MUST-GROW-FAST-AND-FLAP-IN-WIND-ASAP" type), then this is honestly a really nice, happy medium. It gives the closest shave I ever had with an electric razor. Extra bonus points? Straight out of the box, it was all charged up and ready to go. And..."Look, Ma! No Batteries!" Just charge it after shaving. No stupid charge cords, either. Plug the charger in, and stick the shaver onto the charger. Done. I also comes with a handy little travel pouch. Another reviewer mentioned that you can't fit the charger and electric shaver into the pouch. Actually, you can. You just have to put the charger in first, then with (very light) maneuvering, you can throw your shaver in there too and pull up the drawstring. The little brush it comes with easily slides into it, too, which brings me to.... Cleaning? As far as I can see (and used), if you use that little brush to clean it out after shaving (which takes all of MAYBE 10 seconds?) it is super easy. I am impressed for the price. I shaved with it dry, straight out of the box (for at LEAST 10 minutes), and my hubs touched my leg and was...like, "Hey, baby. You feel nice." I think that is all the testimony I need, really. I dry shaved out of the box and my hubs was happy, and stuck it on the charger right after. Several hours later, it is working great. I will update this review if something starts going downhill. I know it is probably too soon to tell whether this will be super reliable for a long period, but I honestly believe this will be fantastic for our upcoming beach vacay. ***UPDATE*** I have been using this for months, and it still works great! Very happy with the performance of this item, and it has more than paid for itself (compared to how I had to constantly buy batteries and a new cheapie electric shaver every so often before).

Easy to use, good value
I'm writing this review after 7 years of use. This is a great little shaver. It's easy to use, does a great job, and makes quick work of those pesky hairs. A full charge lasts a couple of shaves of legs and armpits. I gave 4 stars because I wish the charge lasted just a little longer.

Nice for the price even after 18 months--just be nice to the foil!
This nice little shaver certainly doesn't give quite as perfect a shave as a decent razor with good shave cream, but with a little bit of care, moving it slowly over the skin, and by going over the heaviest areas twice I can get my legs good and smooth and make my pits look as good as they're going to at my age. The double-ended cleaning brush (long soft bristles on one end and short stiff bristles on the other) makes cleaning easy. Honestly, I wasn't sure I'd be happy with a cheap electric shaver after decades of using five blade Venus razors, and I'm sure there are much better ones out there, but between the low price, being able to shave anytime, wasting less hot water, and feeling smug about saving a TON on blades and high quality shave cream I'm really happy with my purchase. A tip if you're switching from a standard razor: make sure that you're pressing the foil against your skin, not the trimmer or the edge of the head. It took a few shaves for me to realize that the rough results I got at first we caused by my lifelong habit of tilting one side of a razor against my leg, but I played with the angles a bit and found that laying the foil as flat as possible against my skin and moving the shaver fairly slowly gives me the best shave. I don't use it in the shower because it doesn't seem to work any better or worse than dry, so I can't testify to how well it works wet. I was a little worried about the battery because of some negative reviews, but it has held up for a year and a half and I can easily shave my moderately hairy legs and armpits twice before the blades slow down. I do charge it the full recommended 24 hours after it starts to run down because that's what the maker recommends, and if I decide to use the razor for a week or two for some reason I top the charge off before using it again. I never had it catch at my skin or pull hair--at least until last week, when my thumb slipped when I got distracted while cleaning the head and the foil was almost pushed right out of its frame. I managed to lift the foil up with a small sewing needle and coax most of its edge back under the frame, so it still works okay, but because the foil got creased and there are now some gaps along its edges it snags a hair a few times per shave. It turns out that Panasonic sells replacement foil for less than ten dollars with free shipping, but at Amazon's current price a new shaver is just five dollars more so, I'm buying another and will save the old one in case the new one gives me any trouble. Bottom line: a highly recommended solution for those who aren't inclined to pay a fortune for a fancy-shmancy shaver.

Impressed!!!
I must say that I am really impressed with this razor. First a little background. I have been using disposable razors for several years now only because my previous electric razor died and at the time I was unable to find a suitable replacement. It always seemed to me that the focus was on men's razors and the ladies were left with few good options. I didn't mind spending the money on a razor, but could not really find what I wanted. I finally broke down and began to look at electric razors again since I was cutting my legs up terribly no matter how careful I was trying to be and no matter what type of disposable or cream/gel I was using. I again did not see that much in the ladies' market (as compared to the options available for men and aside from the new crop of epilators that I was not ready to try). Then I came across this razor and saw that there were several models ranging in price from this $16 and change up to $60ish or so. I was contemplating which model to get but then decided to give the least expensive one a try since it had gotten so many good reviews. I have been using this razor for several months now and I am surprisingly more than satisfied. For the good points, it appears well made, is easy to hold, and does a very good job with no nicks or cuts! I can't say it is exactly as close as a blade shave, but if you keep up with regular shaving, it is certainly very, very good and better than being cut up. The bikini area trimmer that pops up also works very well. It was compact enough to take on vacation with the little charger. Although this is a wet/dry shaver, I have only used it dry so that it is what I am reviewing. The only negative is that it is recommend to charge for 12 hours. I really would like to have a much shorter charging time, but it does hold a charge through quite a number of shaves and I try to be mindful about charging it so that I have it ready when I need it. It would be great if it also came with a base type charger and a better case for travel (comes with a very thin drawstring bag and small cleaning brush), but for 16 bucks, it is well worth the price. I waited several months to do my review and so far so good!

To buy or not to buy? Read my review and find out
Overall review: The shaver is good enough for the price. I bought it for $17.99 rather than regular price of $29.99. Otherwise, I would not buy it for $29.99. Here’s why... Pros: -easy to handle and is a good fit in my hand (as shown in 1st picture) -nice travel kit included; brush & travel bag (as shown in 3rd picture) -easy to control with just a slide of a button. It also has an option to lift up the front blade as a pop-up trimmer recommended for bikini area. (As shown on the 4th picture) -no razor burn and this is seriously a big change from just using a good old manual shaver with a shaving cream. -leaves skin silky smooth but...(see my cons) -shaving cream is optional because you can use this shaver both dry and wet or whenever you remember to shave lol -press two buttons on the sides and you can clean the actual blades underneath easily. You can also pull out the middle piece on top (the piece that looks like a cheese grater) to clean as well. I found this out on accident while I was trying to put the top part back on and the middle piece came off. I thought I broke it, but it was meant to be removable, I guess. Cons: -If you’re looking for something that can shave off your hair completely, this is not for you as this shaver can’t shave close enough to the skin. With that being said, I have black hair and after using the shaver, about a few millimeters of hair on my legs and armpits are still visible. If you have lighter shade of hair on a light skin that might not be a deal breaker for you. -short battery life as stated on the packaging, you can do a 3 minute shave for 7 sessions after a full charge. A full charge takes a few hours to charge the shaver. If you’re shaving daily like me, it’s not a problem because it shouldn’t take longer than 5 minutes to get the areas needed done. However, if you intend to go full on shaving for your whole body such as arms, legs, armpits, bikini, and maybe chest hair, I’m not sure if the charge will hold for long. It would work, but it wouldn’t be as powerful as a full charge. -works better on I-forgot-to-shave-my-legs-for-3-days type of hair. As stated earlier, this shaver doesn’t provide a close enough shave, and therefore it doesn’t seem to “grab” enough hair (if you shave daily with shorter length of hair remain) to be able to shave effectively. I tested out on the upper leg area where I don’t usually shave, so the hair was soft and in a normal hair length. It was super easy to shave that off with no hair left whatsoever! -The cleaning brush that comes with the kit isn’t the best brush. It started falling apart after the first day as you can see on the 3rd picture To conclude my review: *Buy it if you’re a forgetful shaver like me (if you only remember to shave when you walk by a razor) *Buy it if you’re tired of getting a razor burn from using a traditional razor and want a silky smooth skin. *Buy it if you think it’s ok for people that are 3 feet away from you to not see your hair, but don’t buy it if you’ll be sitting next to someone because they just might notice a few millimeters of hair on your skin. *Buy it when it’s on sale because that’s what I think the quality is worth.

Works great if you use it correctly!
I've read so many complaints about this and other electric shavers that I thought I ought to clarify a few things and help everyone get a smooth, non-injurious shave. First a heads-up: you will never get quite as smooth with an electric shaver than you will with a razor, but you can get pretty close. For me, this is an advantage because I can shave more often and avoid razor burn, but if you have dark hair and light skin where every tiny bit of stubble shows, then you may want to stick with a razor. Now, on to the actual shaving advice: First of all, friction is responsible for most of your nicks and also for those extremely painful incidents where a small bit of skin gets caught by the shaver. When the blades spin fast, friction is reduced. You need to make sure your shaver is fully charged before you use it. Although this shaver theoretically holds a charge for multiple shaves, I don't advise you to try it. Charge that baby all the way each and every time you use it! If you are using it on your underarms or bikini line, you will probably want to do those areas first, when the shaver is at its most powerful. Second, This is a wet/dry shaver, not a damp shaver. It needs to glide smoothly over your skin, and if your skin is only damp, like from the bath or from sweating in a humid bathroom, it's going to be tacky and the shaver will skip rather than glide, and you will be forced to press down harder to keep contact - this can also cause nicks and cuts. So make sure your skin is either totally wet or totally dry. I do mine after the shower and use a hair-dryer on low to totally dry off my skin before I use it. Finally, unless you are just doing a touch-up shave, you must cut your hair down with the clipper setting before you use the foil. The foil is for cutting very short hair down to skin level, but it is going to catch and pull any hair that is longer. If your hair is long enough to be cut by the clippers, you need to use them first before letting the foil touch your skin. I hope that this advice will give you a wonderfully smooth and satisfying shaving experience with this or any electric shaver you decide to buy.

Use keyboard dusting spray to clean this.
Works really well, it was pre-charged when it arrived but I still put it back on the charger for 12 hours as per the instructions before using. Gives me a pretty close shave (not as close as a regular blade of course!) and combined with a few new products I've begun using, I haven't had ANY razor burn or ingrown hairs for the past 10 days since I started using this instead of shaving. Amazing since I've always had problems with razor burn/irritation/ingrown hairs "down there" after shaving. I use this to remove hair in even the most sensitive areas (I like to be clean shaven but it's just personal preference) and haven't had any problems with nicks or irritation at all. So basically I'm saying you don't just have to use this as a bikini shaver, you can go ahead and get that brazillian look too if that's what you're into. Again, this won't give you the same closeness or perfect smoothness as shaving with a razor or waxing BUT for me personally it's worth using because it doesn't give me ugly red bumps or scars. I'm very happy with this purchase. I was planning on buying it for $25 but let it sit in my cart for a little while and bought it when the price dipped down to about $16. Really amazing deal for that price, but if this one breaks or I lose it, I'd be willing to pay $25 for a replacement because I'm that satisfied with it. Some people have said to go for a men's electric razor instead but honestly men's razors are so expensive because they're mainly for use on the face... Manufacturers know they can charge a little less and give you a slightly inferior product when you're just using a razor on your hoo-ha and legs. So yeah, good luck finding a decent mens electric razor for less than $20. The only thing I'd improve would be that the little trimmer part is permanently on, you can't remove it to just use the foil shaver part, so that's a little cumbersome to work with in tight spaces. However, the little trimmer blade that's closest to the buttons in the picture pops out to give you the ability to shape the outline of your bush if you want, which is pretty nifty. I use this dry and I haven't tried it wet. I highly suggest just using this on clean, very dry skin. I wouldn't suggest ever dry shaving damp, sweaty, or moist skin, or you'll end up with irritation. *****Also, for those of you who are new to electric razors, instead of using the included brush to sweep away hairs inside and outside, I suggest getting a can of dust remover spray (you know the canned air stuff that you use to clean between the keys on a keyboard!) and blow away the hairs and dust with that instead. There are some fragile pieces inside this electric razor that could break or be displaced with too much pressure and the fibers of the little brush can also get caught in the foil (which is like $10 to replace if you happen to dull it with the plastic from the cleaning brush).*****

A must for ladies!
Where was this product all my life!????? I am trying to leave smaller footprint. One of my issues was always the shaving razors, gels, lotions and wasted water is shower when getting your legs done. This little gadget solved all my problems. It shaved in shower but also dry. Now that I have used it, I prefer dry shaving. No irritated skin and it’s a zip, less then a minute and legs are shaved. Shaved very well and if you want a closer shave you just have to go a bit slower and press more firmly. Don’t worry it won’t cut like a razor as it has a protective net. I was able to totally eliminate razors, shaving gels and creams and batteries with this from my batheroom, it teachers and holds charge for very long time. It does a very good job under arms and bikini area as well without the razor burn, ingrown hairs or irritation. I so happy with this, i ha Erik’s my friends about this and have purchased several now for all my besides! They all love it as well. Best part is, I’m summer whe life gets hectic no one wants to shave daily.... I can just pop leg on toilet or sink and quickly shave in 30 seconds. Wonderful product, very good quality. Hope it lasts long. Although I was not able to see where I can find replacement blade if needed.

Wrong charger sent

Not suitable for the Australian power supply!
The product was unsuitable for Australia. It was for American power . I would of had to buy a transformer at a considerable cost. There was nothing on the web site when I ordered it that said it was an American product. However the company is giving me a full refund. I believe that this product be deleted from their web site due to the fact it is unsuitable for the Australia as other people have used this product with serious consequences eg product blowing up. . Adapter is an extra.
This is a very good solid razor with some weight, but easy to use. It has a very good close cut. Although I give the razor 5* I do have a couple of concerns, you need to buy the adapter for the electric charger and it doesn’t make it very clear on the packaging. Also the charging unit does get quite hot and again please be aware. But it is an amazing little razor.
