This is likely the 3rd or 4th replacement of the cord that originally came with my 2006 Escort X-8500 radar detector. Sitting in the car, especially in FL, the rubber naturally deteriorates over time. Just order this reasonably priced OEM replacement, and it works like it came out of the box 18-years ago!

I guess I got the old version. No USB port or stretch cord but I'll survive. The best part of the cord is the mute button. I accidentally bought a different cord and it didn't have one. Well that made me unplug it with the quickness. I've found the cord's main problem is the metal prongs wear out over time and this causes it to not hold tightly and then no longer work. So that's why I needed the replacement, but this does take quite a while to happen. The radar detector is too good to not buy it because the cord wears out over several years.

This is the third one of these cords that I have purchase in the past year. I plug it in and it works well for a while then randomly stops working. I reached out to Escort directly since the last one I purchased only lasted a month and they informed me that the radar detector itself can start to destroy its own cord. I think this is the wrong brand for me if that is the answer that I am supposed to accept. Beware before purchasing a Max 360 or a smart cord. Escort won't help you and will try to charge you $200 to "repair" the detector. I think this issue should be known and might stop people from purchasing these already high priced detectors if people only new they would start sabotaging themselves and cause you to pay an additional $200 to repair a known problem with the detectors themselves. By the way not sure how to detector can cause a rattle but that is what happens. I am gentle when pressing the button but after a period of time it stops working and develops a rattle. Be aware.
