Best Purchase !!!!!
This is one of the most important things I purchased to prepare for our new puppy. I chose this crate because it came with the moveable wall, dishes, adjustable dish holders, a washable pad and a cover and I am so glad I did! First of all, the moveable wall is so important so that the kennel can grow with the dog. My husband did have to trim off the bottom of the wall in order to safely place/move the wall on top of the included pad, but that was simple and it seems to have been a good solution. The included mat/pad that goes on the bottom of the kennel is really nice and washes and dries easily. I love the food dishes, although they ARE a bit difficult to move in and out of the holders. I do use the holders because I love having the bowls off of the floor where they are un-tippable! One trick I have found with the water bowl is to put it in the holder/bracket empty and then fill it to about an inch or so with water; then just keep a closer eye on the water level and it won’t make a huge water mess when it is removed for washing! Someone noted that they felt the cover looks cheap, but I really love it! It fits perfectly and is made so that any side of the cover can be flipped/turned up onto the top of the kennel so that you can have one side open during the day, but it still feels like a cozy den for your pup! The cover looks streamlined and WAY better than throwing a blanket or something similar over the top! So anyway, I had to review this kennel because every day I look at it in our entry and appreciate how it is made, how it looks and how well it serves it’s purpose! I would seriously purchase this kennel again if I ever needed to or gift it to someone who is getting a dog - it is a great set-up that should serve us for years to come!

Love it!
7/15/21 - UPDATE: I have noticed that the locking mechanism has started rusting. This crate has only been used indoors. Not sure if it's due to moisture in air from the humidity in South GA or my dogs slobber. It still functions and I'm sure a little CLR mixed with warm water will clean it off. Still a good purchase. 1/10/21 - UPDATE: The XL crate will NOT fit in sedans. I downgraded from a Tahoe to a Honda Accord once my kids were older and this crate would not fit in my trunk, so couldn't take for Christmas. Also, I recommend not putting the crate mat in the kennel with a puppy that is still potty training. My Golden had #2 embedded in the mat and it is now stained (instructions state not to use any abrasives). I would suggest getting a waterproof crate mat that can be easily cleaned. Still happy with purchase, however. ORIGINAL POST: We decided it was time to start crate training our 5mth old Golden Retriever who is going through her terrible twos at the moment. We are in the process of building an entertainment center kennel but needed an intervention ASAP. I seen this crate and loved that it came with absolutely EVERYTHING (I.e., crate, bed, bowls, fitted darkening cover, handles, two doors, and divider) so I decided to purchase an XL. The size chart indicated size Large for Goldens, but since Piper's dad is 85lbs, I wanted to make certain she would have enough room once fully grown. The XL is bigger (or looks bigger) than I anticipated but I'm also used to my 5lb Morkie, so my size perception is a bit skewed in that respect. Our Golden has a good bit of room to move around at her current size (≤30-40lbs). I am glad I sized up so she won't be confined to solely just lying down during the times she is in it, especially when full grown. Pros: 1. I love that the bottom of the dog bed is waterproof (think crinkly plastic mattress pad or shower curtain) and the bottom corners have elastic mattress straps for the crate tray/pan to keep the bed from bunching and sliding. The pan can also be slid-out without opening the doors or removing the crate cover. 2. The bowls are big, deep, (Well they are when compared to my 5lb Morkie's bowls at least) and stainless steel. They secure directly to the bars so there is no sliding or tilting, yet the bowl can be removed without having to undo the locking mechanism allowing for easy refill. 3. The crate cover is a thin polyester fabric that is water and stain proof, yet machine washable. It has 4 velcro fasteners on each corner that allows the cover to fit securely while preventing light from entering. You can also purchase another cover separately in one of the three colors & patterns they offer. 4. The crate lays down flat for storage and comes with 2 hard plastic handles that you can attach for easy transport. Cons: The only downfall I have noticed thus far (just received it 8hrs ago) is some of the metal ends on the top where they cut the crate bars are extremely sharp and can cut/stab you if you aren't careful, especially during setup. I only noticed a couple on mine because they got me but I also didn't go feeling around for more either. Overall: I would most definitely recommend this product and I will likely replace my Morkie's crate with this product (smaller size of course). Tonight is our Golden's first night in the crate. We put the cover over it and after 10-15min. of barking, I placed a white noise machine near her and within 10min she calmed down and went to sleep. We will be using it to travel for Christmas, so I will update with pictures and how it does with traveling (due to it being XL).

Perfect Starter Kit for My Tiny Fashionista Pup!
I got this MidWest Homes for Pets Pink Fashion iCrate Starter Kit for my little dog, and I’m honestly impressed! The crate itself is sturdy but lightweight, and the pink privacy cover makes it look super cute—my pup feels like she has her own little chic suite. The included pet bed is soft and comfy, and my dog immediately claimed it as her new napping spot. The two bowls are a nice bonus, sturdy and easy to clean, and fit perfectly inside the crate. Setup was a breeze—took me less than 10 minutes to assemble everything. Overall, it’s a great all-in-one solution if you’re looking for a crate that’s functional, stylish, and comfy for your small dog. Plus, the pink factor scores major points for style-conscious pups (and owners!). Highly recommend for anyone wanting convenience, comfort, and a little flair!

Super great crate!
I love this crate and the accessories that come with it. When my new puppy, Ruger, was 7 weeks old, I used a smaller version of this same crate and he loved it, though he out grew it faster than I thought. I quickly searched Amazon because I wanted the exact same crate. I found it and thankfully it came in every size imaginable. They call it a starter crate…..I don’t know why. I think ALL crates should have these accessories. I bought the 42” crate as Ruger is a Doberman Pinscher. The crate is sturdy, double doored, foldable and comes with a divider in case you’re smarter than I and start with the big crate to begin with. The divider can be used as your pup grows. It also comes with a bottom tray, a wonderful soft washable bed, 2 stainless steel attachable bowls for food and water, and a nice dark cover. As you can see by my picture, I haven’t had time to attach the bowls yet. I’m also using the side door but you can just as easily turn the crate and use the end door. I keep the cover open only in the front during day and I cover the crate completely at night. I think it gives your pup the “DEN” feeling both day and night. I highly recommend this crate to all animal lovers. It’s the best crate for the money that I have EVER found. Enjoy!

I Would Buy It Again !
I purchased this in Febuary 2021 it is now about to be April & it is still holding up fine. I only broke it down once for a road trip to visit my cousin. Breaking it down isn't as fast as resurrecting it , it took me a few more minutes to figure it out but the initial set up was a breeze. Like 5 minutes initially if even that. The second time after getting back home seemed things were a little looser & seemed slightly wonky but I figured out what the issue was & was able to fix it easy enough. Overall I'm still pretty happy with it so far..My one big gripe about it is (like I saw someone else mention) the horrid cheap stickers that don't peel off easily on the food & water bowls that will cost me the time & price of going & getting a bottle of goo gone & having to scrub them off so it doesn't look ugly once it gets water damaged. I don't understand why for the life of me they had to do that & won't change that & 4 that reason I am giving The 4 stars as opposed to 5. The other is that the base slides back & fourth ever so slightly. Nothing too horrible, I also kind of wish it wasn't textured. I do very much however love the cover that comes with it. It help immensely in quieting her down when she is restless or throwing a tantrum as she occasionaly does after having long bouts of freedom. It is wonderful quality & fits the crate perfectly & has even withstood her being able to pull it through the crate & her chewing on it a lil bit before I noticed & it didn't even get any holes. I don't use the bed yet though it is very nice because my new family member is very much still a puppy & chews a lot & is having lots of peeing accidents still. I'll add it once she gets past that. It certainly has made my life much easier being she still thinks it's ok to pop a squat anywhere she is standing no matter how much she is taken outside to potty. I'll try to remember to do updates every so often. The quality is good enough that I'd buy it again & I very well may have to as fast as she seems to be growing if she outgrows this one. Update: 11/4/21 it's still holding up just fine !

Perfect for Puppy
Extremely satisifed. We got the 22x13x16 (smallest) crate for our 8-week golden retriever puppy, and it's the perfect size for her. Also fits inside a 24x24 playpen so she can get comfortable going in and out of it on her own. When she outgrows it, we'll sell this one and trade up to an adult-size crate with a divider; I just worried that that would be a little too big for her at the start and allow her room to have a "bathroom" spot -- which we definitely don't want while we're potty training. Very sturdy crate so far, the coating on all the metal is nice and it's fit snugly so that the doors don't rattle or swing wildly when they're open; they kind of have an interference fit so they stay where you put them. The bowls are excellent and have a really firm snap-in fit into the holders so there's not even a chance of one popping out accidentally. Puppy is getting all of her food through toys, so i just have one bowl in for water (which stops getting refilled about 90 mins before bedtime). Cover is nice and I appreciate that each individual panel can be up or down. Nice little removable carry handle for the collapsed crate as well. Good solid snaps to retain the removable tray.

Super-quick to put Together, All Parts in One Box, At a Decent Price
The size I needed was out for what seemed like forever. And this was everywhere on the web. Then a used one in "very good" or "excellent conditioned" became available. I hesitated only for a second then bought it. What arrived for a fraction of the cost was unused and "like new" as it had never been used. The crate you just pull up and it's already in one piece with the base. You add the sleeping bed and voila! you are done. It also comes with food and water dishes and an extra whole side piece for reasons I'm not 100% certain, maybe you can add another and make an extension? We haven't used it much yet by design, but Laika actually likes it. Oh yeah, becomes it comes with a full cover that Velcro's and gives her that burrowed secret pit feeling where she thinks she can spy on me and I can't see her so she likes it. One thing I would prefer? And maybe the unit does it and I don't know? Is if the door when left open would swing all the way back and tuck back instead of blocking the path. Now I haven't locked this hound and a half in it unattended and left. She spent her life strapped to a chain and post with 300 ticks feeding on her in the baking sun for the first 4.5 months of her life and had to eat if fed and void in the same spot before I got her 6 weeks ago. She has tripled in size 3 or 4 times. The ticks were gone by the end of day one, but she goes berserk when I leave and I don't know if the crate would collapse in on her if I left and I'm pretty sure dogs shouldn't be left in crates when we leave them at home alone. SO with no previous crate experience, this seems really well thought out, a nice-mid weight and I give it a five stars recommendation, particularly this one that comes with everything, and would buy it again without question.

Good Starter Kit for XL Dogs
After the loss of our beloved pet, we ended up adopting a 3 year old terrier mix (about 45 lb) and a really long legged 10 month old girl that they said was a shepherd mix? She really looks to have greyhound or something as well. At any rate, she is one tall drink of water and needs the full height of the 48" kennel to stand. We knew that the terrier was heart worm positive and would need to be kept quiet in a kennel for a long period of time after treatment and wanted him to have a nice big crate to stretch out and move around in so we chose to get the 48" crate. The crate was very easy to set up and had a couple of dividers as well (which we don't use). There's a nice plush thin pad to lay on. The pad has a water proof backing in case of accidents or if he splashes when drinking. There is a plastic tray on the bottom of the kennel which can be slid out to clean if necessary. The two stainless steel bowls and holders are really nice and heavy and should last a long time. The labels came off cleanly and the bowls snap securely into the holders that are held onto the crate with wing nuts so they can be placed wherever it seems best. The wire of the cage is thick and the coating is shiny and does not rub off. Our Terrier became upset one day and did try to bite the wire side of the cage but it did not damage either him or the cage. I can see if you had a younger dog that was trying to chew their way out, you might want to use some zip ties to help secure it between the metal fasteners. Our dogs, being pound puppies, are okay. The door has always stayed securely closed and I was concerned about that since the slides are just straight and not L shaped as previous crates that we have had. We put the cover on 3 sides and put the 4th flap on top because our pups seemed to like it better that way. It's like a den for them. The 48" is really huge and I can crawl inside of it so be sure you have plenty of space--think a baby crib without the legs. The larger pup really loves the kennel and she stays in it quite comfortably when we have to leave the house while the terrier stays in a smaller crate during that time. Both of the dogs will stay in the kennel willingly and even crawl in there during the day to rest. We're very happy with our purchase and recommend it highly. It is made well and we expect it to last for a very long time with our fur kids. We would buy it again! Buy with confidence.

Perfecto

Happy with the product and the extras
Best price I could find (at the time I purchased). No issues with the quality and so far has been sturdy (just holding a puppy but she's had a few temper tantrums and it stayed strong). Love that it came with a divider and the crate cover. Tried out the bowl holders and they seemed sturdy but don't plan on using them in the crate at this age. Have been using the bowls for food and water, no issues or concerns (standard stainless bowls). It would be a bit of a headache to fold up and move around frequently (We were considering keeping it in the bedroom at night and the living room during the day but 42" size it wont fit through a standard door without being collapsed). We would need to remove the divider, then pop it all down. But its definitely easy enough to collapse if need be. Its a large crate so obviously will take up a fair bit of space.
