The Blazin' Thaw is a game changer! I am notorious for forgetting to take my frozen meat out of the freezer early enough and this product allows it to thaw out quickly and safely. No more partially cooking in the microwave, no water "water logging" when trying to quickly thaw in water. This item is very stable, a good weight , and very efficient. I like the size, too! I highly recommend the Blazin' Thaw!

I love to buy food in bulk and freeze, especially meats since I like a good quality of meats from specific stores that I can't always make it to. I often take meats out of the freezer and thaw them in the fridge with good intentions to cook a meal later, but with two small kids things can get thrown off. With this thawing tray I can take meats out a couple hours before cooking when I know I'll have time. It actually works. I have thawed burger patties and chicken breasts on this tray shortly before cooking. Because I left the meat in its packaging before freezing I did have to run it under cold water so that I could get the packaging off. I imagine I wouldn't have to do that if the meat had been frozen in ziplock of vacuum bags. In a couple hours I had perfectly thawed meats that were ready to cook! This tray really has saved me money and time! The only things I don't like are that the red rubber feet attachments on the ends do not stay put and the grooves in the tray collect water and take a while to dry. You can easily fix the drying issue if you turn it long ways on the dish rack, but I use dish mats. This is a great product that I recommend!

First off, this thawing plate is gorgeous. It is sleek, has great lines, and could easily sit on the counter without being an eyesore. It's not too heavy but very durable. However, let's talk about how it functions... It works... fine. Just fine. My first trial was a frozen half-inch ribeye and it took like two hours to thaw before I put the thawing tray on the stove. Not very impressive. Now, they put a disclaimer everywhere saying thawing time could vary, yada yada yada-- everywhere you turn, you bump your head on another disclaimer. So, I know I can't return it on the basis that it takes forever, got it, that's not what I'm saying. I think it's a physics problem. The plate gets heat from the air, transfers that heat to the meat, bada boom should be good right? Well if your kitchen is kind of cold, you're cooked. Well, you're not cooked, I guess. The opposite of cooked? I was in a bit of a hurry for the first steak, so, for my second trial, I gave myself some time and, this time, tried a ball of frozen chicken breast (that's how I froze it, sue me). It worked okay unassisted, took around two hours again, but it leaked chicken juice all over the counter, which I'm pretty sure this thing is specifically not supposed to do. So while the design is cool, the "juice" channels just send all the liquid to one or both of the rubber stoppers on the end and those things are NOT water tight. Minus one point. But this thing ain't cheap and I'm nothing if not persistent so for my third trial I brought out the big boy, a 13oz two-inch-thick porterhouse frozen so solid it could knock someone out. But THIS TIME I took off one of the rubber stands and let that edge hang over the sink... genius! With the slight incline, any drippage went right into the sink and I think that because the aluminum was getting residual heat from the counter top (or at least displacing some cold-ness into it?) the defrosting took even less time than the previous experiments. Great success! TL;DR: It does take a while to thaw. Watch out for leakage! Pro tip: take one end off and hang the plate over the sink.

This is clearly the best. Normally I wouldn't bother writing a review for something as mundane as a thawing platter--after all, it's just a heat sink--a piece of aluminum, usually. NBD. This one is so well made, so thoughtfully designed, and such high quality that it needs and deserves one. I included two older platters just for comparison--one is very small and light, and it travels well--but you can see there are very shallow grooves in the top and none on the bottom. Also no feet..it does its limited job just fine, but it is very limited. The other with the missing feet and finish coming off looks like it has been around a long time--and it has. As a reflection on how design has changed on these things though, it's a good comparison. Shallow grooves top and bottom, that sort of thing. That one is like 20+ years old and gets used a LOT. So compare with this one: It's larger, which is good...thicker and heaver, which is great. The grooves on top are for drainage--on the bottom are FINS to help transfer heat (and therefore cold) The end pieces are also the feet, and the will easily outlast the rubber stick on kind that usually go on. I've paid attention to the thawing time on a steak and a fish lately...to get accurate and all scientific I'll have to get a timer, equal sized frozen food and other things I didn't do...but this does the job easily twice as fast. So it's built like a tank, well designed, made of good stuff, twice as fast and looks to me like it will outlive me. If you are looking for an environmentally friendly, solid product to gently and quickly thaw food...buy this.

La bandeja no es muy pesada lo cual lo hace más fácil de guardar y funciona de maravilla. Para que funcione mejor, se tiene que seguir las instrucciones que son estar volteando la carne cada 15-30 min si es un corte grueso, pero para los cortes delgados no es necesario, descongela todo muy rápido. Muy recomendado para los que olvidan sacar a descongelar la comida unas horas antes de comer.
