Some what durable, no smell, works for large and small folks, water proof, and it doesn't cook you
I bought this for a trip to Florida in Spring (adult size). I was expecting rain. I always buy the ponchos at the amusement parks which are fun, but they don't last more than a couple of days before they start to trip and they smell. Did some searching and found that while this was not the highest recommended, it was still high on the list. I chose this because the number 1 choice was too expensive. This was number 2, and I have to say, ZERO regrets. First, some people state that it's too big. It is a poncho - it's not a jacket. It's meant to hang down below the waist and hang off the shoulders. I'm 5'11.99999999", 6' for my ego, and I wear a backpack underneath it. I'm not an elephant, can fit (or squeeze depending on your definition of fit) in an economy seat, but I'm not skinny either. The first time I took it out, my 5'4" teenage daughter took it instead to stay dry - she is skinny - and it worked fine for her. First impressions: 1) no smell (I did wash it one first time) unlike those other vinyl/plastic ponchos; 2) hood works well, has some tie strings to tighten up the hoodie. 3) Has fairly durable snaps on the side, and a nice soft lining inside. On the theme park ponchos, I always end up ripping those snaps on the side within the first few hours tearing a small hole or ripping the poncho in the process. Surprising, despite being water proof and lined, it's not an oven and doesn't cook you for wearing it. It says it's breathable - I don't know about that, but it must be because I wasn't feeling like the inside of a parked car on a humid day while wearing it. Heavy Florida rain was no match for the Frogg Togg Ultra-lite 2 - kept me dry. After the second wash, which I do put it in a mesh bag when washing, the outer skin started to peel a little bit in a couple of spots. I don't know how much longer this will last if I wash it, but I did wash it a third time and it didn't get worse. I'm not marking off for that because most people probably don't wash them, but since I put them back in my clothes closet, I'm washing it! There was nothing special about wearing it - I didn't feel taller, skinny, more handsome, but I did feel smarter compared to those who bought theme park ponchos because mine looked/felt better and more durable. I also didn't feel like if I leaned up against a wall in the Frogg Togg it would rip like the park ponchos do. I was dry (except for my shins and shoes, but that's not the ponchos fault) and it kept my large backpack dry too. I didn't feel restricted or constricted in it. It also comes with a simple storage pouch which is nice to keep it in so when the sun come out, you put it in your bag, and don't get everything in the bag wet. Bottom line - it feels more durable than the park ponchos (but not more than those Stearns rain suits, but those can be ungodly hot to wear outside in warm rain situations), it doesn't smell like I'm wearing chemicals, it's adult size fits large, regular, and small/young adults, it's water poof (kind of the whole point here), and it doesn't feel like St. Peter's penance punishment for life choices by donning it. I would buy another (and will for my family for our next trip so I can actually keep/use mine for me).

Great to keep in your pack for a rainy day, but...
For the price it is a great deal... it is not built to be your main goto rain layer, but it is perfect to keep in the pack for when it does rain... If you are headed to a multi day backpack in the rain, where you will need really long term rain layering, you might skip this one. If I want a very light weight rain layer, to have for an emergency, this is the one... I keep it in the pack for the sunny day hikes, in the event it rains... I would not recommend it for multi day hikes in heavy rain, I would recommend it to keep in the pack for when rain is not expected, and you are only out a day or so... It tends to get torn up a bit if you are in brush... It packs flat, keeps me dry in a light rain, and is not too thick. Fit is good, and it will dry in teh sun.

Great Quality & Coverage, but there's Pros & Cons!
I have mixed feelings about this poncho. There's pros and cons, and it truly depends on who is purchasing this poncho and what for! I purchased this poncho for our Disney Trip. I have heard great things about Frogg Toggs, including the long life and great coverage, so I figured this purchase would be perfect for all the Disney Trips we take throughout the years! And if I liked it, then I would purchase another for my husband. I received it 2 days before our trip. Thankful I opened it because the smell of a burnt forest is not what I'd be able to walk around smelling like throughout my trip. The smell was HORRIFIC! Not sure why or how it gets this smell, but it is definitely not even close to being wearable unless it is washed first. When I opened it up completely, there was a tear in the front of it. It was small, but it was mixing that whole waterproofed layer of material, and no doubt if we were in heavy rain, it would go through. I contacted the company immediately, and they sent out a new one overnight!!! VERY PLEASED with the Customer Service! With that being said, I did have to wait till it arrived in order to wash it because of the smell. But it arrived, I put it in a laundry bag for protection, added it with a few other items and washed it on gentle cycle. It came out great, stink free, put it in the dryer for 2 minutes to get the excess water off before I hung it to dry, and it was dry to take on my trip the next morning. Now.. onto the size and coverage. This thing is HUGE! I am 5' 3, and although I wish I can say I was super skinny, I can't :-(. But... I'm not really big either. I wore maybe a size 8 at that time. Comes down really low. Hey.. Can't complain about the coverage now, right? It's not to the point of it tripping me, but it is extremely long! Not a biggy.. It's light weight, does not feel bulky and heavy, and I'll get great coverage obviously. I also wanted this one because of the hood. I can tighten it so it doesn't fly off when it's really windy. But the hood ended up being a problem. It was SO BIG, that it not only covered my whole head, but my entire face too!!! Not even an exaggeration! I tried to stop it at my forehead and tighten the toggle to keep it from going over my face, but it didn't work. So it is very hard to walk around the parks in this, as I can't see where I'm going! I wore it on splash mountain, and we had the best laugh at the action shot of the log flume going down. Who is that faceless person?!?!? All you saw next to my little 5 year old, was a giant blue cape! It really was funny! So... I gave it 4 because it does have great coverage and the durability is obvious. Will last for many years to come. But, it has been passed over to my husband because the hood is just way too big. For him as well, But he can deal with it better. And as far as the smell is concerned.. easy fix by washing it gently in a netted garment/washer bag if you don't have front loads, to prevent it from getting torn in the wash. Just make sure you order it to arrive several days before you will need it and you'll be fine. Overall... This poncho is of great quality and will have a very long life if you take care of it and store it properly. Perfect for a man or tall woman. And the hood? Not too horrific if you're not as picky as me or have an issue if it flies off your head.

A great purchase for amusement parks
These are the best rain ponchos for amusement parks. They fold up in your bag and when you use them they dry fast. Light weight and great quality

Very Nice Rain Poncho
I love it. It's very roomy and I love that the inside has a soft, thin layer of fleece so I don't have cold plastic against my skin. This is made very well, and I adore the pink color. Wish it came in purple too. It's very lightweight on the body. I'm 5' tall even and it comes down to mid-calf on me. Plenty of coverage. I mostly use this to stay dry while taking the trash out to the curb if it's raining. This is great for any situation though. My only annoyance is the hood. It is too big and flops down over my eyes and face. It does have a drawstring closure but that almost makes it even worse for me. I have to use some small butterfly type hair clips to attach the edge of the hood to my hairline to keep it over my head but off my face.

Rain Rain ๐ถgo away !
I recently purchased the Frogg Toggs Ultra-Lite2 Poncho. Pros: Striking Color: The first thing that caught my eye was the color. It's vibrant and stands out, which is great for visibility during outdoor activities. Effectiveness: Yes, it works! I've been out in the rain a few times with it, and it's kept me dry. The waterproofing does its job well, which is the most important aspect of rain gear. Cons: Material Quality: While the material is fine and seems breathable, it feels a bit flimsy. I'm a bit concerned about its durability in the long run, especially if it gets caught on something sharp. Overall Build: The overall build quality reflects the ultra-light nature of the product. It's great for light rain and moderate conditions but might not hold up in more extreme weather or rough usage. Conclusion: Overall, the Frogg Toggs Ultra-Lite2 Poncho is a decent choice for someone who needs basic rain protection without the bulk. It's wonderfully lightweight and easy to pack, making it ideal for light outdoor activities or as an emergency rain gear. However, if you're looking for something to withstand rough conditions or more rigorous use, you might want to consider something more robust. It's a good balance of functionality and style, just handle it with care!

great for hiking
My wife has been using this poncho on long hikes, and itโs become one of her favorite pieces of gear. Itโs lightweight and easy to pack, so it doesnโt take up much room in her bag, but when the rain hits it gives full coverage and keeps her completely dry. The material is breathable, which makes a big difference on longer treks since it doesnโt get too hot or stuffy underneath. Itโs also durable enough to handle rough trails and repeated use without tearing. For anyone who hikes or spends time outdoors, this poncho is a reliable, packable solution that works exactly as it should.

Works well!
Waterproof, lightweight, and not flimsy. It definitely will work more than once. Itโs a bit long for a five year old. His carters rain jackets canโt keep him dry in the atmospheric rivers that keep dumping on him so I got this and it works well! His arms are a little exposed so sleeves get wet but other than that itโs great! Dries fast too!

Perfect lightweight poncho
Such a good poncho and was perfect for carrying around our trip to Vietnam for the sudden downpours. Very lightweight and compact and gave good coverage with my 165cm height. My husband was impressed too and he's over 6 feet.
