Well worth cost
Awesome product. Cost is worth the value and works like a charm on end grain.

Works well
I was skeptical when I first applied this stuff, but when I returned the next day it had dried to a nice thin layer of wax on the end of the boards. It went on white, but appears to be clear now. So far I'm happy with it.

Works as advertised
Anchorseal is a waxy liquid used to seal the ends of logs to slow the rate of drying and reduce the amount of checking in the wood. I had some fresh pine logs that I wanted to prevent splitting in, so I went with Anchorseal over latex paint as Anchorseal is reputed to be more water impermeable. I expected the wax to separate out of solution but that wasn't the case. It applied very easily, soaking into the endgrain. I was able to seal the ends of seven logs roughly 24" across and still have half a can left. A couple months later I've seen no appreciable checking. Summer will be the real test, but so far so good.

Stop checking
This stuff is great. Ordered some green Douglas fir timbers for a project and realized In couldn’t start for a few months. I was worried about the timbers drying too quickly and checking. Applied the seal to the ends of the timbers and had almost no checking 6 months later. Keep in mind I live in a dry climate.

Protect your end grain
Goes on easy with a brush and dries rather quickly outdoors. Looks like a thick milk and dries clear. Easy to see if you’ve missed any areas. My quart size container covered 4 ends of a 33” diameter log after I cut it in two.

Really good end seal
Really good end seal. Used this on a Ipe and Cumaru deck. Goes on milky white then dries in a few minutes to clear. Easy to work with. I put this on with a small 1" by 2" trim pad type applicator. Used about a quarter of a quart for over 1200 linear feet of deck.
