Seriously the best investment I've ever put in my backyard
Update 05/27/2022: This pool has now been in operation for a couple seasons, and it's still doing GREAT. I had to replace the plates in the chlorinator, and refill the sand in the filter once, and that's it for the heavy maintenance. The water is still crystal clear, the FAFCO heating pad is still kickin, and my kids are still loving the pool. Still absolutely no regrets with this purchase. I was leary at first. Above ground pools are something the Uncle Eddie has in Xmas vacation, that you could imagine him jumping off his RV into. But I live in the South West, where the sun doesn't care if your pool is below above or levitating - the heat spares no one. Instead of investing $80k or more in a fancy pants pool, I spent a fraction of that on a 24' diameter Intex pool and it has been the best money I've spent that I can remember. Super easy to setup - I did it with one person. I already had a flat large area to place it, so all the real hard work was done. Filled it up (took about $350 in water), and then realized that it was going to need two more things to be perfect. I picked up a Chlorinator - also made by Intex - so I wouldn't have to deal with chemicals. I mixed in the salt as directed, and it's been producing chlorine ever since (one and a half seasons later). You can't tell there's salt in the water, and you can't tell there's chlorine either - but my test kits always put it in the proper range (2-3ppm). The second item was a heating mat. I setup the pool at the end of the season, so the sun was already losing some of it's potency here. But at the start of this season, I REALLY noticed it. I have the 4' x 20' heating mat you can get here on Amazon, and it works great. Since the sun started cooking the southwest, my pool has been a steady 80-85 degrees all day long. Maintenance is extremely low. I added a skimmer (the one where you have to actually cut the liner to put in - a littte nerve wracking BUT VERY worth it!!!) and it keeps the surface spotless. I've gone through a couple of pool vacuums (stay away from the Intex one!) and I've settled on a rechargeable one that you just drop in the pool. It takes care of all the big and medium debris that lands at the bottom, but the fine debris has been more of a challenge. A brush with a suction port that ties into my skimmer has solved that problem - I put the pump into bypass and just let it go into the planter. Really the only thing that takes a bit of attention is maintaining the pH level. I find I'm constantly adding the pH lowering chemicals to keep it around 7.6 - 7.8. Not difficult, I just need to not forget to do it. Overall, I probably spent about 3k on everything (pool, pump, chlorinator, heating pad, light, vacuum - x2, did I mention not to get the Intext one? - skimmer, misc hoses and stuff)... and it's been worth every cent. My kids and I absolutely love it, and it's made living in a hot climate so much more tolerable.

Beats $10,000 for “real” above ground pool
This is our 3rd Intex pool. Started with the “bubble”, then had 15’ metal frame, now this 26’ ultra frame. This is a HUGE pool! The box that it came in was delivered by freight truck (400+lbs). Trucking company dropped it at the end of our driveway, thank goodness we have a tractor so we were able to move it, but something to keep in mind. We were already familiar with setup from our other pool so it was fairly straightforward. The most difficult part of assembly was getting the final piece of top rail locked in. Please do not believe the listing when it says “ready in hour”. It will take you days unless you have a crew, and even then at least a day before you even start adding water. My husband and I did it ourselves. I’m going to give you some tips to help with installation, but the number one tip is find the You Tube video from Pawpaws Place. It’s about an hour long and he takes you from beginning to end. Follow every step and you will be good! Helpful hints: 1. Level, level, level. Make sure your site is almost perfectly level. Any deviation will skew how the water sits in the pool. You have about 1” that you can be off. Any more and it won’t be good. 2. Get liner as wrinkle free as you can before you put on legs, this will make it easier for you later when you start adding water to get the rest of the wrinkles out. 3. If you’re planning to leave up year round, put something under each leg. Pawpaw recommends 12x12x1” blocks, but to be honest, that’s way more digging than we wanted to do. I ended up going to a metal fab shop and have them make 8x8x1/4” plates (26). I think they’ll hold well. 4. This does not come with a backwash hose. Purchased backwash hose and clamp from Lowe’s and we had to buy some PVC fittings to make it work. 5. They don’t come with a skimmer basket anymore. Highly recommend purchasing one to get the surface crud. 6. The supplied ground cloth is pretty thin. We had some geo textile cloth that we put under the ground cloth for added protection. 7. Use a level and keep checking legs both side to side and front to back as the water goes in. This is where the ground leveling comes into play. If your ground is not level, liner with push out on some legs, and cause others to move inward. Fill slowly and check, check, and recheck. We are on a well so I had to go slow with water -55 minutes twice a day. I checked leg level before each addition. Got pool filled to about 4,000 gal then had another 6,200 trucked in. We went around and around with level as water was going in and made adjustments. They will reach a point where you cannot move them anymore . All in all, I think it’s worth the time and money. Pool company wanted over $10,000 for metal walled pool and installation. I just couldn’t fork over that much. With pool, water, and misc. things, I’d guess we have about $2500 in it. The seller was great, I had a couple of questions and they responded immediately. Would definitely recommend if you don’t mind some hard work. Watch the video by Pawpaws Place!

Nice large pool
Pool much bigger than anticipated, we really like the sand filter that comes with it, works well and the gauge is fantastic for letting you know what you need to do. Ground cover is very thin but thankful it was included. We did have an issue with the liner completely tearing however Amazon was fantastic about shipping us a new pool. Ladder is sturdy, take forever to fill up with a hose. Overall we’re happy with our purchase. We’ve owned several of these pools and they hold up for years in our crummy NY weather.

Good Pool but had a couple issues! But would recommend this pool still.
This is a good pool for the money. Even with small leak. Don't be dissuaded because of the small leak. Just be ready and check as filling for signs of leakage. Overall was is great. Pros: Easy Set up, size, delivery, good pump and filter. Cons: Had a small leak on seam, trying to contact manufacturer or getting support is difficult, no suction side vacuum port, last top rail is a pain, didn't know I needed filter sand until afterwards. Setup: make sure you level the area good. I spent hours leveling because of size and was still off about 2" on one side. I left it because it wasn't bulging. Make sure to have two bags of pool sand filter ready prior to setup or go get while pool is filling. Make sure you start top rail at on point and work around in circular direction clockwise/ counterclockwise do not attach legs until top is complete . Last rail is a pain in the butt even while following the recommendation in directions. Just be patient. I caught the drip leak (video) early while filling and fortunately it was were I could get to it and put pvc glue on seam that sealed the leak. Returning item liked this would be a nightmare after hours of assembly just to disassemble. I would think a credit should be given for leak and couldn't get hold of anyone. Just a return but couldn't get support. Returning was out of the question. Maintenance: I have a pool cleaning service and had all chemicals on hand to treat pool. This made bringing pool chemistry easy for me. I would recommend keeping calcium between 160 to 200. Because you don't want vinyl to harden too much. I have well water low calcium. Mine is at 180. I have a high iron content in my well water. The pump and sand filter did great filtering it and I had to backwash a couple times. However, I don't like that it doesn't come with any kind of suction access for a hose vacuum to get sediment (picture 2) off the bottom. I had to order a battery cordless vacuum to hopefully get sediment off bottom. I cannot even net it with my microfiber net. These pools need and adapter to be able to hook a standard vacuum hose in order to vacuum using pump and filter. The pump and filter are surprisingly good, so far. I was impressed that it wasn't some cheesey pump and filter. It can be set time come on and run for selected number of hours up to 12 hours a day. Has internal clock to run at same time each day. Or can be set to run continuously. I'm excited to use this summer and this 26' is huge. I can swim short laps in it by myself, and is large enough to have several people in it. My family and friends will soon be invited for a BBQ. Make sure that you know the desired size for your area. I have a big yard so this was perfect. Even though a lot bigger than I thought and surprised by size and depth.

HUGE POOL, We Love it
We hired a set up crew just to save time. A crew of 3 people put this pool up in about 3 hours. We LOVE THIS POOL! it’s so sturdy, and strong. After one summer of hot tTEXAS sun, it looks brand new We did buy an automatic vacuum and ita always clean. I would recommend buying this pool!

We have had nothing but problems…
I read multiple reviews about this pool. I read about the lemons and decided to take my chances because they were few and far between. We first received a liner that was cut in 3 different spots. I had to order another liner from INTEX. The seller refunded the actual price of the liner but we had to pay taxes and shipping, which isn’t cheap because of the weight. A positive is the assembly was fairly easy for one person. That’s it. So we get the pool and pump set up. Add chemicals and start the pump. It works fine the first day. We run it intermittently due to possibly needing to backwash. It does not pull anything off of the top of the water, so now we have ordered a separate skimmer box. Day 2 run the pump all day, it cuts off after the time is up. We had added more chemicals and needed it to continue running to circulate. Well, it won’t restart. It has a standby mode and will power on and beep when you press buttons but won’t actually turn on. We unplug it for the night (because 5 & 10 min unplugging didn’t change anything) go out the next morning, plug it back in and nothing. Still in standby mode but it won’t power on at all. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE PUMPS!!!! So, it is a Friday…INTEX is only open M-F 8-5 PST. I’m in EST so we wait. We go on vacation next week and will come back to a horrible mess with no pump running for a week and a half. PLEASE BE CAREFUL BUYING THIS POOL. I WOULD LIKE FOR INTEX TO COME TAKE THE POOL AND THEIR PUMP AND WE WOULD PURCHASE A DIFFERENT BRAND.

Good pool upgrade with "safety" hack
This was a needed upgrade for the kids. We've had a 12'x30" Intex for years, since 2015. That pool actually was pretty durable and just recently started rusting out. I would take it down after summer. Last summer my 13 year old son would stand up and his knees would be above the water line. This year we got this pool and it is a great size for the whole family of 7. It is built just like any Intex pool. They are high quality parts but still inexpensively built. There is no hard metal outside sheet like a traditional pool to protect the liner, but the liner is heavy built. After filling it up there was a small pin hole leak in the pool which I fixed with gorilla clear underwater patch tape. I don't think the pool came with the hole. I'm pretty sure a kid was hitting the pool with something sharp. However there has been no leaks since. My wife and I were concerned about our 18 month old twins climbing the ladder and falling in the pool. Those little guys get everywhere and fast. My daughter suggested taking a step out of the ladder. Which I did. From day 1 both little guys tried to climb the ladder as expected. However after a few failed attempts they have gone all summer without caring to climb up. So a success there. If you're concerned it's an easy free fix. I plan on leaving this pool up and draining down below the skimmer each winter. Hopefully that works out.

Looking forward to a hot summer for once
We are so happy with our purchase so far. This pool is plenty big for our purposes and was well within our budget. It took more than 60 minutes to set it up but it wasn't terrible. There were four of us working. We are fortunate to have a flat concrete slab in the back yard that was just large enough for this pool so I can't comment on leveling dirt, etc. The concrete is pitted though so we bought an extra pad to put under it to make it a bit softer against any potential sharp edges. The sand filter is nice. We've used traditional filters in the past on a much smaller pool and this seems like it will be easier to maintain in the long run. Pros: big, assembly is doable, cost not prohibitive, if we ever get tired of it we can take it down. Cons: the ladder is steep and rickety. We built a deck and bought in-pool stairs to attach to it instead. Getting all of the wrinkles out of the liner before adding water is nearly impossible. Unknown: Durability - I've read some negatives about rust and leaks but it's too soon for me to know about that. I hope I'm not sorry.

Very nice 24ft pool that keeps the heat
Easy to setup. Leveling is the hardest part. The absolute best thing about this pool is how it heats up and retains the heat. My previous 16ft pool would very rarley get to 80 and would normally sit at 75. This pool rarely goes below 80 and sits at 85 most of the time.

Best soft shelled pool on the market
The only good thing about the Intex is the actual pool liner and rim and leg system being closed and extremely sturdy. I’ve had several Intex and the pumps are always at least two grades less than what’s adequate to filter your pool whether it be sand or filter. Ladder is garbage. Otherwise the best soft shelled pool out there on the market.

Very Disappointed with Intex!!!
The pool pump went after 1 season. Would not turn on this year put a customer service Inquiry in as it says warranty for 2 years and because we do not have the proof of delivery date 🙄 as my emails were deleted due to new phone Intex will not cover new pool pump. And cannot find a proof of Delivery order history through Amazon which is toTotally disapppinting! Very vwry pissed off and disgusted as we sent original receipt of purchase of pool through Amazon. This is why it doesn't pay to order things online apparently. Very Very unhappy customer to say the least!!! 😤😡😡

18 ft Intex Pool amazing!
We actually loved the pool and got so much use out of it. It is well-made and worth the money however it did not come with the ground cover. We used sand on the ground prior to setting it up. Without the ground cover, we had a huge issue cleaning up afterwards, as sand was stuck to the bottom of the outside of the pool due to no ground cover being sent. When taking down the pool, this gave us a huge headache when closing up for this season. Other than this, the pool is so worth it. The sides of the pool were at least 5 feet high!
