Early Morning Luxury ...
I've been shaving for more than forty years ... YES, I'm that old! I've tried all methods and styles of removing beard from my face ... from straight edge razors to disposables and electric razors too. Along the way I've gone back and forth between using a brush and soap, shaving creams, gels and oils (which I don't prefer). Here's my quick take on this brush ... it's fabulous. I love the quality of this brush and at the price it's a super value. The finish of the handle is great ... smooth, well finished in chrome, great ergonomic design in my hand, and the weight is substantial but not oppressive. The bristles are well set and in a tight knot at the base that fans out beautifully as soon as you well them. It's amazing how much water these bristles will hold, and I've never had a brush with anything like the softness of this one. A confession: I love badger, even though I'm a face latherer and I use a hard soap. It's not that I don't think boar, when well broken in is also great for face lathering, but don't pass up a badger brush if you like hard soap and face lathering. Unless you need to build a lather that resembles shaving cream from a can this brush will more than do the job for you. If you build your lather in a cup you'll be thrilled with this brush. Some folks talk about the smell of badger and boar brushes, but I had absolutely no issue with that with this brush. I did wash it before I used it the first time with shampoo, but I'm not even sure that was necessary. I've had no shedding at all. This is a pure silver tip product and it's as good as any brush I've seen at four times the price. I bought it because I wanted a solid handle brush without a ring to hold the knot and this did the trick for me. HOWEVER ... the real reason to buy this brush is the luxury of it ... there's simply nothing that feels like a high-quality silver tip badger brush on the face. It's a pure luxury experience ... and even if you shave with a disposable Bic razor buy a great badger brush and use it, even if it's only a treat once a week. Real men get that shaving is part of the ritual we get to indulge in once you get it. I know that for many men shaving is simply a chore they have to engage in on occasion. However with a great shaving brush and a great razor you can really get a great shave ... and enjoy it too. There's a knack to shaving this way ... prep, e.g.: after showering is best for most men, wet your face and use a good pre-shave product to set the beard and condition the skin - (I love Proraso products, and their Pre and Post Shave Cream is my favorite product ... I love the eucalyptus tingle during the shave), then lather up (either lather in a cup/bowl or load the brush and later on your face), and leave it for a least a couple of minutes, then shave in one direction with the beard, and re-lather before shaving against the beard ... some folks like to shave across the beard first and then against the grain of the beard. You'll have taken ten to fifteen minutes out of your day, but you'll feel great and you'll look great too. The Parker brush is the one I go to whenever I want a bit of luxury to start my day ... and I recommend it without hesitation as the best value for money badger brush I've ever come across. Heck, unless I was into exotic luxury products there's no other brush I'd go to at all.

Happy husband = happy wife
Buy this brush. It's great. After a couple months of extensive brush research, I bought this for my extremely picky husband for the holidays and he still can't believe how great it feels on his face. His old brush has long been forgotten. The bristles are soft and hold lots of water, lather up nice, & he loves the way the handle feels in his hand/the overall weight. The logo does tend to rub off with use, but who cares? It looks even better all chrome, logoless. It's a higher quality brush for a fraction of the price of similar brushes on the market. Haven't had any issues with shedding or strong odors. The stand is nothing to write home about, but you're buying only a brush, the stand is a freebie and does it's job, really. The hard box they both came in was nice and was easy to wrap. The husband really had no idea what the gift was until he opened it and was pleasantly surprised. If you have an old-school guy in your life (or are one) - whether young or old - this brush will really, trully be enjoyed. It's something that will be used often, so why not give that little perk to the usually mundane shaving routine?

15 years in use - not thinking about replacing it!
It's time for the 15-year review. Bought this brush in 2011 and still using it. It may have lost a couple of hairs and I had to re-glue the bristles back into the handle because the glue finally gave out after a decade or so. Besides these minor issues, it's still going strong. Keep it clean, use high-quality soap, and this one will give you a good experience for years. Will still highly recommend.

excellent
the knot size was only 20mm comparing to my previous 22mm knot it was smaller to hold in my hands. And, it like it better. so this 20mm knot size is good for small hands. if you have larger hands you would most like find this to be rather small to hold. the material of the base is chrome it is nice and heavy a little heavy for my hands but i dont mind. its just my previous 22mm knot was made of resin and was much lighter in comparison even when the brush handle was larger it was lighter. the brush tip is as advertise 100% silvertip very nice and dense. my first use of it no problem lathering and applying was fine. for the price i think it was well made. the next higher end are running as twice as much. for me i dont need to shave that much so this works perfectly for what I paid for. it fits perfectly in parkers 2 prong safety razor and shave brush stand.

Brush is Best-of-the-Best But Included Stand is Junk. Buy a Separate Stand!
I've used only four shaving brushes in my life, including this one, but this is hands down the best I've ever used. I can't say enough good about the brush, it's simply the best in every category. It is heavy in the hand, which I find makes it easy to control. Not too heavy that it tires the fingers, just heavy enough that it makes it easy to make controlled strokes. The bristles are packed thickly into the brush, and the individual bristles are soft. I have sensitive skin and this brush felt soft against my skin the first time I used it. I like the shape of this brush; the bristles flare out just enough to give good coverage, but not too much to make the brush head cumbersome. One other high-end silvertip badger brush I tried (I forget the brand, it was years ago) had the problem that the bristles flared out too much, making it unwieldly, hard to lather in the mug, and hard to get the soap onto your face. The flare on this brush was just enough, it was slightly more compact so there was better density and the brush head was more manageable. It also smelled good right from the start. It has a natural badger hair smell, but it smelled clean, not like the dead animal smell of some cheaper brushes. The best thing about this brush though is the lather it produces. Perhaps because the bristles are so fine and so densely packed, and the brush head is just the right size for a typical-sized shaving mug, it whips up a perfect lather in SECONDS. Like it's crazy to me how much time this brush saves me over my old one. The previous one I would have to work it around in the mug for quite a while, then scoop it out. With this one it's like, a few quick strokes, and BAM, perfect lather ready to go on my face. It's also easy to fine-tune the density of the lather with this brush. It took a little getting used to relative to my old brush (which was pure badger, two grades lower than this one which is silvertip badger) but once I figured out how to get the density I wanted, it was perfect. I have one and only one complaint about this brush. The stand is junk. It's a cheaply-made hard plastic (acrylic I think?) stand. It is too lightweight on the bottom, which is not good with a brush this heavy because it's easy to tip over, sending both the stand and brush careening onto the floor. It hasn't broken yet, but I have a feeling that if I knock this off onto my hard tile bathroom floor even once, there is a risk of it breaking. My previous, cheaper shaving brush had a nearly-identical stand and I knocked it off several times and it broke the 2nd or 3rd time I dropped it. For a product with a $64 price point and as perfect ergonomics as this one has, the stand was a sore disappointment. It kind of cheapens the whole package. Like this is not only a premium product, it's the best shaving brush I've ever used, it's outstanding, singular. Really stands out quality-wise. So the cheap stand is just...a glaring contrast that takes away from the whole package. I bought the Charmmann Safety Razor and Shaving Brush Stand with extra wide openings, and it fit this brush very well. That stand was $14. I would just as soon have them raise the price of this by $14 and include a similar stand to that, a metal stand with a sturdy base, but one perfectly sized to this brush (the match on that stand isn't quite perfect, it's only "good enough") than have it stay the way it is now. In spite of the stand (which is the only reason I docked this down to 4 stars from 5) I am extremely happy with this product, and would buy it again, although I have a feeling this is going to be one of those BIFL items. I've used it for a bit of time and it has yet to lose a single bristle. I have a feeling I am going to get at least 20-30 years use out of this brush. I take care of my brushes, and now I have a more stable stand so it's unlikely to ever fall on the floor! I use it every day and it is a pleasure to use every time!

For over 10 years this brush has been amazing
Almost 11 years ago I purchased this badger shaving brush. I was just starting my journey with good shaving and I needed a silver tip badger shaving brush. I didn't want to pay the very high prices for the expensive brushes and I didn't want to keep paying for poor quality brushes that wouldn't do the job and fall apart. I picked a great brush because not only does it do an amazing job, but it hasn't lost many bristles either. In the beginning a few bristles would show up here or there, but it was rare. For the past decade I can't say I've seen a single bristle. I've included photos to show the side and top view. Take care of this brush and it will last. I love the way it feels and whips up a great lather using good shaving cream. It's just my experience, but I thought it might help if someone is looking for a great brush that will last.

This Is It!
I have been looking to upgrade my shaving brush for a while now and have been doing a lot of research on them. The frustrating issue was trying to determine what brush was worth my money. I had seen many brushes that claimed to be Silvertip but did not come close to the price range I though was appropriate for such a boast. I then watched GeoFatboys YouTube videos and saw that he kept recommending the Parker Silvertip Brush. I immediately went to Amazon to check it out. NIRVANA! I had finally found what I was looking for. I bought it immediately. Upon arrival I was even more surprised that the handle was on par if not better quality than the reviews had said. At first assessment of the hair I was disappointed, thinking that the hair quality was not that great since it felt like my other brush. But then I got it wet and immediately noticed where the money had gone to. The hair quality was far superior to my current brush (Tweezerman Badger) and I was in love! I then took it for it's first shave and could not believe how well it worked. It held the heat of the water and made my shaving cream nice and toasty. Overall I could not be happier. Pros: Great Value High Quality Nice Weight Soft Hair Low Odor (Badger brushes are notorious for their odor. I think that the higher quality causes less odor.) Looks Great On Sink Cons: None found so far

Great Silvertip Badger at a great price
This brush is made in India but rivals with the best British shaving brushes. This brush is an excellent choice for those that stick to or that are getting back to the origins and the pleasure of a traditional shave. The better the brush the more water and heat it will retain and thus will make you a better lather in a short time, so it is worthy to spend a few more dollars in a quality brush like this one. This brush will offer you a gentle and pleasurable face massage and exfoliation every morning, preparing the road for a superb shave. This brush is solid and heavy, not good for travel, but because it is heavy it does not float, which in my view is an advantage. Of course with the help of the brush you will also want to apply the lather from shaving soap , not gel or foam from a cheap can. The foam and gel from a can that can be found in every supermarket contain chemical rubbish which is very bad for your skin, especially after the first pass when your pours are open. I therefore recommend you use this brush with Proraso shaving soap.

Good
Feels premium, with a good amount of heft. Brush is soft and easy to maintain. The included stand however feels cheap and is very lightweight. Still 5 stars for the brush alone.
