Bible Journaling Made Simple: An Art-Filled Journey for Creative Worship

I jumped into reading this immediately, and I could hardly put it down until I was finished! Sandy Allnock lives up to her title's promise. She gently allays readers' fears about "marking in their Bibles," and suggests three mediums for creating art on thin Bible papers. This book is beautifully illustrated, with lots of examples and suggestions on how to journal in the Bible. Sandy is an excellent artist, and she has a flip-through of her own Bible on YouTube. I highly recommend this book! Finally, there is a companion workbook available, which is printed on Bible paper. That gives would-be journalers an opportunity to see how various mediums would work on thinner papers.

I've followed Sandy for a few years. check out her blog @ sandyallnock.com. Shes a wonderful artist- a patient teacher- and a super human being. Her instruction in this book is not hard. She is great at explaining the "how to" for page prep- what different types of mediums you can use. But her knowledge on the topic of journaling and specifically bible journaling shows how much she knows without being stuffy. Her approach is light and confident- just like her. And she is your biggest champion- reminding you that "Yes! YOU can do this!" let the words come from the page and into your heart. It is that easy. God has given her an incredible talent- the person she is- shares it with the world. Mark 1:11 Way to go Sandy!!

This is the best book on journaling in our Bibles that have been published. Why? Mostly because Sandy's techniques are simple and most don't require prepping pages. Plus, this book is really seeking a relationship with God. Sandy gives ideas on starting a Bible journaling group, but also for personal study. I like the "What's your story" she includes throughout the book which makes you stop and think. Am I willing to be patient with myself as I learn what God wants to accomplish in my life - for example. And, don't forget to check out her website. Many tips and tutorials there. Sandy, thank you for writing a book that takes the focus away from the art and onto our God.

We bought this and an illustrated Bible for our granddaughter who is a beginner. It is full of information, ideas and inspiration. It will serve her as an excellent resource from a beginner to a seasoned Bible journalist and illustrator. Just the information on all the writing/drawing tools and how you can use them to decorate your Bible is amazing. It's full of inspirational ideas and examples.

I’m so inspired by Sandy’s work. This book not only gives you a step by step introduction into Bible Journaling, it encourages and inspires your interaction with God. She has given beautiful examples and online additional helps. I was even smiling when she prompted me to start a small group to journal together. The many illustrations will even motivate a seasoned journaler to expand their own art. I would highly recommend this guide to Bible Journaling. It has a multitude of great ideas and very easy instructions on how to accomplish each design. The mediums used are colored pencil, watercolor pencil and watercolor paints. Sandy Allnock is my favorite Bible Journaling artist. She has an easy going style and gives confidence to anyone who might be hesitant to try journaling in their bibles. Buy her book.....you will be blessed in many ways!

This is a beautiful book. It is well written and easy to read. The author emphasizes the importance of scripture throughout the book and provides a lot of examples of art to get you thinking about how to apply it to the particular scripture. This book has given me many artful ideas to use. Sometimes I feel stuck in trying to think of how to journal a particular idea and Sandy has provided many easy ideas to use. I can see myself returning to this book for inspiration time and time again.

This book is treasure trove of ideas for anyone who wishes to start (or continue) Bible journaling. Nice idease and great images

This was purchased and immediately put to use. Great ideas, easy instructions to follow, the illustrations are great too. Truely inspirational ideas and suggestions. Great gift idea for any occasion. Love this book…..it’s a treasure!
