SABRENT USB 3.1 Aluminum Enclosure for M.2 NVMe SSD in Silver (EC-NVME)

Investing in this + NVMe SSD is better than buying an external storage device like Samsung T5 etc.. as this works out cheaper and gives the flexibility to use the storage as an internal drive if needed.This actually happened with me. After a few months of this purchase i decided to assemble my desktop PC. At that stage i did not have to worry about getting another hard disk.While this means that the case is not being used, but i can always buy a new NVMe at a low cost and put into this.NVMe are worth the investment over SSDs.

Sturdy aluminium case, got it at reasonable price, more than serves the purpose

Quite a sleek and attractive looking product, a bit expensive though.This hardware is not exactly plug and play.The seller should consider the possibility that all the customers may not be novice and won't be able to get it running in the first instance.In my case, I installed a PNY 1031- 512GB SSD and the computer running the latest Windows 10 wouldn't find it.So, first I checked in the bios (press del key repeatedly to display bios) to ensure the PC is identifying the drive. It was present. So I booted up and navigated to the hardware settings and 'initialized' the drive upon which I was prompted to select type of file system (fat, NTFS etc). Once you have gone through these steps the drive appears in the file explorer, ready for use.The presence of two sided tapes is rather intriguing. I believe it's a bad conductor of heat, so I am guessing it is not to dissipate heat. Also gluing the drive makes it rather permanent and makes interchanging of the SSD rather messy.Interesting to note: such an expensive product comes with no warranty.When you add the price of a SSD this affair becomes rather expensive.PS:Speed is great. I cannot measure as I do not have a bench mark system.Does not get all that hot while writing although I have not glued in the supplied two sided tape. It runs cool while readingAlso. It is recognized instantly when plugged into my bluray player.

Received the product in an opened manner. Disappointed!! The product works well and good. Thought everywhere I read said it will detect the SSD installed in it but that wasn't the case in mine rather it detected the Sabrent driver and not of the SSD's driver and model. And again another disappointment. 2 STARS OFF!!!More updates on it's speed and quality soon....

Un boîtier est magnifique et respire la qualité.Alors oui le petit boîtier est lourd pour sa taille mais il est en alu massif (il me semble).Le boîtier fait office de dissipateur thermique et c'est parfait. Donc il va chauffer mais dans le but de diffuser la chaleur à l'extérieur et laisser refroidir le ssd nvme.Pour celles et ceux qui ont des difficultés pour l'ouvrir, prenez le tournevis fournit, mettez le dans l'un des trous destinés aux vis et servez vous en pour soulever la trappe.Pour information, j'y ai installé un petit 128 go qui traînait Ssd NVME Corsair MP300.Mon ssd nvme à un port M key et B key dessus.Le boîtier n'est pas compatible avec les ssd sata m2 mais il est bien compatible avec les ssd nvme avec le M key ou les M + B Key. Donc en gros tous les ssd nvme peu importe le type de key.Simple à installer. Rapide à refermer.Tournevis fourni avec des vis en étoile (dommage qu'on ne soit pas sur de la vis traditionnelle cruciforme)Il y a des petits patins sous le boîtiers pour éviter de rayer les surfaces et qu'il glisse mais aussi pour mieux extraire la chaleur j'imagine.Il y a un film plastique à enlever sur les patins et sur le pad thermique blanc qui prend bien toute la taille des puces du nvme.Je recommande les yeux fermés

Very happy with this product with one small exception. It is fast and seems pretty reliable - good thermal pad making direct contact with the SSD and a hefty aluminium body to act as a passive heatsink. Sustained transfer speeds across the USB bus to another nvme SSD were >150MB/s across a bunch of file sizes, which is pretty solid performance.One minor peeve: the instructions suggest that the unit should come screwed together with 4 screws. Mine wasn't - I opened the box and two screws came tumbling out - maybe the other two rolled away before I spotted them. This is a minor issue to me as there were spares in a bag, but really would be better to put all the screws in the bag in the first place since the case needs to be opened up anyway.All in all a worthwhile purchase and much better than the slightly cheaper ugreen which barely works.

The Sabrent NVME enclosure is machined from a solid block of high quality aluminium that will aid heat dissipation away from the NVME SSD drive module. I purchased it on it's positive reviews it received and I can also vouch for it as a neat quality piece of kit. The purpose of the purchase was to be able to clone my existing SSDrive to a new larger and faster SSD without pc disassembly to make sure transference is 100% error free.For those not familiar with pc set ups should not panic if their new drive doesn't show up in This PC, simply type Computer Management in the dialogue box (bottom left hand corner of , Click Disk Management you will see your existing drive bootable drive(C:) referenced as Disk 0, and maybe another drive (D:) you use for storage which will be referenced as Disk 1.With your Sabrent NVME Drive enclosure will need to be assigned a drive letter (E:) as an example in Referenced as Disk 2 (Unknown.. Gb Not initialized) (right click Partition Table) initialize Disk (GPT) click okay let it do its magic, it will give you a drive letter and windows will be able to see your Sabrent NVME Enclosure.

This unit is a sturdy aluminium case with a suitable arrangement to transfer any heat to the case and dissipate it. Comes with USB-C and USB-A leads so very flexible. Tried "double the price" WAVLink and found it to be rubbish. This unit I will buy again for mor more NVME M.2 SSD drives.Installation (and uninstall) is very easy - they even provide a Torx driver in the pack!
