WaterDrills 10-foot Drain Snake Pressure Washer Cleaner Hair Drain Clog Remover Drain Relief with Sink Faucet Adapter

My toilet had been clogged for a week! Don't ask how I managed during the "clogish" I used a plunger, full bottle of extra strength drano, cloth hanger ... nothing worked. As a last resort before calling plumber, I saw this and for the price warranty and Prime membership, figured I could wait two days and give it a try. The 10 ft cord made it possible to reach the toilet from the bathroom sink. I did have to replace my sink faucet adapter with the one included but with my handy wrench, no big deal. Connected Waterdrill adapter to faucet and then pushed other end of waterdrill into toilet as far as I could. Turned on water and realized waterdrill may need some extra "support". The force of the water once I turned on the sink faucet blew the water drill right out of toilet, spraying all over the bathroom till I turned off faucet! Next attempt I used toilet seat to help brace waterdrill end in place ;-) Let it run for about 3 minutes. Used plunger for a couple good plunges and crossed my fingers as I flushed the toilet. Ahhh ... everything cleared ... though a little slower than usual. Repeated the routine one more time and .... It's a beautiful thing, my toilet is no longer clogged and I'm good to poop again ROFL :-)

Works as described. I like that the tubing is long as it reached my bath tub from my hand basin. The tubing is rather stiff so when turned on you have to have a good grip on it. As someone stated, the metal connector provided has a sharp edge in the large metal thread in the middle. I was very careful handling it and screwing it into the faucet, but I did manage to cut myself. Although I can't look down into the drain very far, I do feel like it must have cleaned out the pipes! I didn't use this because my drains were slow to drain, but to do preventative maintenance. It comes in a large ziplock bag which makes it easy to store.

The other day I was using my bathroom sink and had it filling while I was turned away doing something else. Unfortunately, I discovered too late that the sink overflow (those round holes in the front of the sink) was clogged and the sink started overflowing. So I quickly turned off the water and started sopping up the mess. As usual, when faced with a problem, I turned to the Internet search process. As I searched for the "sink overflow clog" situation, I found a product manufactured by a Canadian company called "WaterDrills." On their website, there was a video showing exactly how the product worked. It looked simple, and I like simple, so I ordered it! With shipping added in, the cost was around $36 (via Amazon). It didn't use chemicals and the concept was logical, so it was right up my alley. The product showed up today and I tried it out! The first thing I did was get three wrenches lined up. Secondly, the screw-on filter has to be taken off the sink faucet. I always fold up a soft cloth or heavy tissue around the filter before I use a wrench on it so it doesn't get scratched. You'll probably find, like I did, that the filter was kind of dirty inside and filled with icky stuff. I rinsed that off and put it aside, being careful not to drop anything into the drain. Next I attached the screw-in end of the hose of the WaterDrills product to the sink faucet. Then it was a job working the other end of the hose into one of the small round overflow holes (there were three holes; I used the far left one) in the front of the sink, but with a couple wrenches, I finally got it worked in. I slowly forced it into the piping little by little. Then, keeping my fingers crossed, I turned on the water (using hot water) and I could hear the overflow pipe filling up. As it filled up, I could hear the water level rising and wondered what was going to happen. What happened was that water started bubbling out of the two "empty" overflow holes, along with black crud, flakes, grime and all sorts of debris. After a few minutes (which seemed like hours), the water stopped bubbling up and was apparently running down inside the drain pipe (which is what it's supposed to do) and the clogged overflow was cleared. Then I used the same device (still connected to the faucet) to clear out the regular sink drain. I pulled out the sink stopper and then pushed the plastic hose down into the drain pipe as far as I could and turned on the hot water again. After that was done, I looked into the drain pipe and I could see the actual openings where the overflow water entered the drain pipe from the sides. I carefully eased out the hose and just before it came out of the drain pipe, I turned down the water pressure and then cleaned out those openings ... which had some debris showing. Now my bathroom sink and overflow drain is sparkly clean! No chemicals, not a lot of work, and a great new product to pass on to my friends.

The Truth - so this little contraption is fairly useful. How ever I was forced into buying another $8 sink to female hose adapter to make it work after the unresponsive company did not reply to my inquiry on where the included adapter was for the sink. After securing the sink adapter my darn self, I was able to completely clean out my sink drain and the air vent that were clogged on all three of my sinks. It does water blast the gunk out pretty well but I did have to remove some of the hair manually with a flathead screwdriver to get it fully clear. It sprayed so well that gunk actually flew up onto the mirror and around the sink area. Additionally, another person had warned on the sharpness of the sink adapter I purchased to use with it. It sliced my finger right open in two places when I put too much pressure on the adapter to tighten or untighten it from the faucet. Be careful of the adapter if you actually get one. Since I had to buy it myself from another vendor at my own cost, not technically their fault? I do not believe this device would clear ANYTHING properly past the drain pipe itself but I'll let others who have tried this comment. Side Note: on the cardboard packaging this device is marketed as a golf club and shoe cleaning device to use with your outside hose (not a sink cleaning water drill). So my ultimate mission to clear my sink issues was accomplished beautifully but I still am kind of angry at what I received and for stupidly cutting myself. For those on well water that do not want to put Drano into their system, this is a great alternative to chemical treatment for drainpipe cleaning.

"3-Way Adapter" my left foot! The instructions are negligible and all about pictures which are TINY so you can't really see what's going on. The Adapter doesn't 'adapt' to any faucet I have in the entire house - Two kitchens, three bathrooms - NOT ONE! I even called in a plumber friend of mine and he can't get it to work. I'm sure, if we could find a way to hook it up, it would be great, but if it doesn't fit on any of the 5 different faucets I have in my home, what DOES it fit?

It works for some things just not what I really wanted it to. I wanted to put it down s sink trap and have it go the full length into the pipes. I can not get it to go past the first union in the wall. I also tried it on 2 floor drains and it wont go around the trap. The are old and rusty - maybe if plastic it would work.

May 16,2014 This is the first time I write a review on a product I bought from Amazon.com. My bathroom sink has been clogged every 6-12 months since its U form trap is also the discharge of the condensate from my home air conditioning. In the past I used a 15 ft snake (1/4" diameter) to open the drain line through the bathroom wall. But this time it did not work anymore since the snake can not reach the clogged location, more than 15 ft away. I did some research and found the Waterdrills tool. I ordered on Sunday, and it arrived on Thursday as scheduled. After connecting to the faucet, I inserted the tube as far as possible through the trap and the connecting pipe through the wall (Note: in order to do that I had to manually open the trap, insert the tube and then put the trap back. Hopefully, next time I don't have to insert the tube too far). Initially, I was skeptical but I successfully opened the drain line in less than 5 minutes. This is a wonderful product. September 29,2014 (Update) After about 6 months, the above drain line is blocked again due to my A/C condensate. I used the same water drill and unclogged successfully the drain line. But this time I found out that I did not need to insert the tube through the U form trap. I inserted the tube directly through the connecting pipe, bypassing the U trap (off course I had to disconnect the U trap from the connecting pipe at the wall before I could insert the tube). I worked.

Initially I didn’t think it coupled to my sink. Turns out if I removed one of the rubber gaskets yes it’d fit my odd model. You can take the metal part out and turn it around to fit into others. It says 3 in 1 just wasn’t sure at first. I only bought it to try and clear out an overflow for a bathroom sink. Since I moved in can’t get water to go down it. It just looks really clogged with rust or something. Anyways it really didn’t fit at first and when I changed to hot water that helped it bend a bit and did get it to slowly make its way through. Red cloudy water came out up over the overflow and some bits of rust it looks like and lowered it further but still seems to have something going on. I’ll keep at it. First use was today for about 30min. If you use in a sink best to remove everything from under it. I had water come from here or there and well it wasn’t a lot but somewhere my sink has an issue.. anyways the tube tried and for those that said it has no power behind it it does and it’s not extreme pressure but it did remove some stuff.. I only bought it for the overflow cleaning but I’m sure I can find some use outdoors for it
