How do I ensure uniform tooth length when sharpening with the G106B?

Due to bar width variations, rotating the file holder may shift the file position. Use calipers or a bolt with a nut set to the correct tooth length to maintain consistency.

How can I lower depth gauges using the G106B?

Utilize the dial on the G106B to lower the unit in 0.01" increments. Set it at the cutter's front edge, then lower by one or two clicks based on desired depth.

What file sizes are compatible with the G106B for sharpening?

The G106B accommodates all standard file sizes: 5/32" for low profile, 3/16" for .325, and 7/32" for 3/8 and .404 chains.

Can I sharpen carbide chains with the G106B?

Yes, but you'll need diamond grit stones with a 1/8" threaded shaft, as standard stones aren't suitable for carbide chains.

How long does a sharpening stone last when using the G106B?

Stone longevity varies, but typically, one stone can sharpen approximately 30 feet of chain under normal use.
