Received and installed today as I have a dog on strict crate rest. Set up wasn't too difficult but this is definitely not like the original, which they actually picture on their packaging that it comes in. The original has grommets rather than elastic tabs. The elastic is useless. Need to wrap it around the hooks twice for sufficient tension. To be fair on amazon photos it shows these elastic version. The metal tubing is pretty useless, serves no real function as it did not give it any stability. I cleaned the walls with alcohol and dried them and waited before I stuck hooks on to ensure a good hold. Struggled with elastics but got it all together. After a while when I was sure it was set I put my dog in the room. first he pretty much could squeeze through the bottom as the elastic gives. Then the mesh isn't very fine so his lil nail got stuck and finally the elastic tore (looks like that one wasn't sewn well, others were in place) and hook flew off. Was really hoping this would work but complete fail unfortunately. I would suggest looking at other pet gates as this could potentially be dangerous for your pet.

Bought this to keep my baby from climbing the stairs, thought it would be perfect because I have had trouble finding something that can attach to the metal railing, traditional gates don't secure. In less than a minute my 11 month old had this torn down and was on his way up the stairs, ripping the hook (along with drywall) off of the wall.In the photo you can see two spots where the drywall is pulled - first one is when I put it on the wall but it was too low, carefully tried to get it off but wasn't too lucky. Second spot is from the baby going through the gate.

My dog had recently hurt his leg. I got this to keep him from trying to go up the stairs. This was the perfect solution since a traditional baby gate would not fit in this location. Several times I would find the hooks had come off the from the wall and banister. The mesh seems sturdy but the hooks they supplied were useless. If this was to be permanent I would have installed hooks but since it was for short term use I didn't want to drill anything into the wall. They were used on a wooden banister and a painted wall.

This gate did not keep a chihuahua and a pomeranian from entering my living room. I was skeptical about this gate, but gave it a try anyway. Waste of time and money! I was very careful about installing this properly. I took my time, measured, cleaned the surfaces and performed the most secure installation possible. As soon as I left the room, my dogs decided to follow me. It took approximately 10 to 15 minutes for them to enter. Not one to admit defeat, I performed some "tweaks" with the same results. A third try was equally unsuccessful and the gate was beyond repair. My advice, don't buy this gate unless you are merely suggesting to your dog that he/she not follow you and really don't care if he/she does.

Not sturdy at all. I got this as a dog gate but it's super flexible so all she has to do is push a little at the bottom and it stretches enough for her to get out. I tried making it tighter or rolling it up a little but no matter what you do the bottom moves. Not useable.

Is perfect for big dogs. But my small dogs were able to get under the mesh. It isnt able to get taught enough for it to be effective with smaller dogs. The hooks were also not strong enough and I switched them out for command hooks.

Cheaply made mesh with poorly made holes for the clamps to go in. Also taking the paint off my wall so this was a horrible purchase that cost me more than I expected.

The hooks are way too big to hold on to the little straps of the gate. And the hooks are advertised as being damage free, which is true for the installation, but in removing them, a huge piece of my wall peeled off. It’s also not easy to roll it up to change width, it unravels almost right away.
