I purchased the freightmaster in N scale and one of the cars wheels is shorting out the track. Can anyone tell how to fix this w/out buying wheels?

If you do not want to purchase new wheels and repair the car, you can contact the company to see if they will want to replace it for you. Thanks for you interest. Y2PLAY Stores 1-800-695-4808

Can this set operate on 9-3/4" radius turns?

No. Radius is determined by curved track sections and the cars are designed for 11.25 inches.

Does the n gauge train stay on track with magnet

no there is no magnet involved, the train stays on the tracks the same way a real one would.

can the engine (the gp40 diesel) be upgraded to DCC, does it have the connector pre-installed for the board?

Hello. This set is standard DC and is not DCC-Ready. Thank you for your interest! Y2PLAY Stores - 800-695-4808.
