This is one of the best Super Greens products I've found. I've been using it a long time- maybe 8 or 10 years for my morning smoothies. It is NOT sweetened, which I prefer, but it has a lot of dried organic green vegetables in it that provides good nutrition. I always feel like something is missing when I don't get my smoothie with Garden of Life Perfect Food Super Green Formula in it. It has helped soothe my digestion after taking a medication that pretty much wrecked my gut. My morning smoothie really is not complete without the Perfect Food Super Greens. I love it!

I've been struggling with arthritis pain, sore joints and low energy for a long time. After changing my diet completely, I was still dealing with these and other health issues to varying degrees. A reputable natural healer advised me to incorporate a quality green supplement to my organic, vegan based diet. It was when I added "Perfect Food" to my already stuffed Blentec that in two weeks I noticed a change, perhaps the change that was to elevate my health to another level, where I began to feel a noticeable tapering of my arthritis symptoms as well as my sore joints and muscles. It's been a long journey, probably too long to discuss here, but i'm relieved to feel better to the point that I cannot remember when I last felt this good. Perfect Food combines many great ingredients including a quality probiotic, green grasses and vegetables too numerous to list and many are organic. It is great for those who have no time to hunt down leafy greens to eat or grind up. I should know because I spend a lot of time going to stores who are indifferent to organic produce and if they carry any, it is already expired and wilted. So I recommend mixing this product in water or even in your protein drinks for the daily helping of green. We need green to fortify our poor American diets since few of us are not fortunate enough to live on or near a farm. Recently after petting one of my dogs (another "little" Rottweiler), I discovered two cysts on opposing shoulders that were 3.5 cm's in diam. She had a dry, wiry coat and was shedding excessively which surprised me because she is on a natural/raw diet. I decided to give her and my other dogs some of my green drink since I felt they were not getting enough green and this was easy to do for me. Within two weeks, my little Rotty's cysts had each shrunk to the size of a pea. Her coat was shiny and she ceased to shed. My other dogs' coats also improved and two of them no longer had ear issues. This is a proven product that has been on the market for a while and it works. In my case, I had to also change my diet, eliminating many fats and "dead" foods. What people don’t realize about green tea, adaptogens, various mushrooms, rhodiola& all these other psychoactive herbs & supplements is that YOU HAVE TO CYCLE THEM! Sure it may make you feel good in the short term, but anything that affects your mentation has the potential for side effects or dependency. Maybe i missed something, but from what i see is that this supplement only offers whole greens & superfoods, nothing extra. It can be taken every single day. I’ve been taking it for 4months now, & my baseline energy levels are much higher, im better with my lady (*wink wink) my digestion is improved, & my skin is clearer. It tastes nasty unless you mix it in a smoothie ,but a daily habit should’nt be done bc it’s enjoyable, it should be done because you have the discipline to do it, kind of like brushing your teeth. I will continue to use this product.. Not paid, just health conscious

I mix one scoop of this with soy protein powder, soy milk, and a banana, blend it up, and have it for lunch. Been using it every day for over a month now, and I expect I won't ever stop. The combination is surprisingly tasty; I actually look forward to it every day as my treat and I don't get hungry again until dinner time. The amazing part to me is how much mental energy it seems to give me, which is a real discovery. Instead of burning out on yet another cup of espresso, this stuff actually seems to make it a lot easier for me to focus all afternoon, a feeling I have not had in years (probably due to my excess coffee habit, which for too long has made me a little scatterbrained by 2 PM). I've known for a long time I'm not getting nearly enough greens and vegetables, and I suspect this may be the perfect substitute. I am also quite glad to be done with the chore of making sandwiches every day, and yes I am slowly losing weight without having to do anything else. One thing that happens to some people (including me) when you finally starting putting good stuff in your system: your digestion temporarily...err.."changes." It took a couple of days for mine to adjust. However, I had not been eating any vegetables at all for a while; you may experience no such thing. The good news is that my digestion is now better than before I started. So, if you're not serious about better nutrition and losing weight, then that sort experience might at first put you off. Just think of it as your digestive system "waking up" after being put to sleep by years of abuse. My only complaint here is with the Amazon listing itself: It's hard to tell if this is the powder or capsules, or which variety this is in the company's lineup (I had to go to their Web site and read a lot). But luckily, it's the same product I first discovered on a shelf at Whole Foods. But, again, this stuff tastes great when mixed as above -- and without the sugars and other horrible stuff you find in most mainstream "health" drinks, which just make me gag they are so sweet. I tell friends not to be put off by worrying about the flavor, just give it a try. We all get more and more hurried every day, so we need to give our bodies as much of a fighting chance as we can. I think this is the most important product out there, and I've tried a LOT of them in the last 30 years. By the way, the best blender out there? Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower 15-Piece Compact Portable Blending/Chopping System, Black . No mess, and you're done in 90 seconds. And so cheap you can keep one at the office, too.

I've been using this daily for several months, along with an additional 2 grams a day each of chlorella and spirulina (the perfect food has these ingredients, but I'm taking extra). So I've been taking green supplements for a few months now. Good things I've noticed: My digestion is better. I have had problems that fiber and various probiotics were not really fixing, for some reason this seemed to mostly remedy the issue. My digestion is back to what it was before I did a couple of courses of antibiotics. Energy. I'm not so much manic and full of energy, but if I have a poor nights sleep I function better the next day than in the past. I think I need an hour less sleep a day on these products. Normally I need 7-8 to feel rested, I seem to get by fine with 6-7 now. If I only sleep 4-5 hours I still am able to function in the day with less fatigue than in the past. I don't get as fatigued as I used to. Things I didn't notice: Skin is no better (I'm in my 30s, so maybe that is expected). Same with hair, no difference. I still get sick. A bad case of bronchitis was working its way around the office, I got it anyway. This alone didn't stop it. In the past large doses of vitamin D helped me stop getting infections, I need to go back on that. Mood. I do a lot of things to work with my moods, I don't know if I can say perfect food did anything in and of itself. All in all it is a good product since I don't normally eat vegetables. The best way to 'get it down' is to mix it with 8-12oz of milk and a scoop of protein powder in a shaker cup then drink it through a straw. An even better way is to add a product called 'berrytastic' that is made by vitacost to the mix. Amazon sometimes sells this product, sometimes not. But if you add a scoop or so of berrytastic to the shaker cup with the perfect food, milk and protein powder, the fruit flavors of the berrytastic make it taste a lot better. I would assume any fruit powder would do the same. This stuff does taste bad, and if you can't find a way to get it down you may end up puking it back up. So find a recipe that works for you and is easy to make each day. I've even thought of doing a modified 'juice fast' using my milk/protein/perfect food beverage instead of juiced greens. I think 5-6 servings a day of this for a few weeks could help clean me out. I've noticed a lot of the green juice supplements in grocery stores are basically just fruit juice with a tiny amount of greens. This stuff is far more diverse and healthy (ie it isn't 80% apple and pineapple juice with a hint of greens for tint). It is an amalgam of various superfoods and health products. So I'm glad I started using this instead. Plus it is cheaper, less than a dollar a serving. Edited: 12/3. That bronchitis that was going around work seems to have been pneumonia. Several people have been sick for weeks while I was only sick for a few days. I don't know if you can attribute that to this product, but at the very least I wasn't nearly as sick as some of the people I work with. Also I have noticed when I run out of this stuff or leave it at a family members house, I crave it if I'm not eating it. I'm sure that is a good sign because my body craves the micronutrients in it, it isn't the same as a craving for red meat or sugar, but it is a craving nonetheless. Since amazon's price is currently about $50, I bought it from another online vendor for $38 and have been counting down the days until it gets here (should be in tomorrow).

This is my first Amazon review, despite being in their thrall for years and years now. I felt compelled to share my experience with this product in hopes that it might help others. I have been using this stuff for over two weeks now. I initially heard about a different product, Miracle Greens, on one of my favorite podcasts. The digestive benefits the host was talking about piqued my interest. After searching on Amazon for Miracle Greens and similar products, I chose this one from Garden of Life based on ingredients. So, two weeks in, what have I learned? First, the taste review: worse than the worst thing I have ever tasted; better than death. I would still wish it on my worst enemy, but it's pretty bad, ya'll. If tooth decay has a taste, I imagine it would be like this. The first time, I didn't think I could finish it. I went into an immediate shame spiral over my silly purchase of something I'll never use, a waste time and money, destined to gather dust on the shelf next to my papaya tablets, soy protein mix, and "Quantum Wellness" book. Not to mention the embarrassment when my husband asks me "How's that new green powder supplement going?". Then I remembered I'm 31 years old. I remembered the comments here, and how I was forewarned of the taste, and I decided I just needed to put my big girl undies on, pull 'em up nice and tight, and drink this little harmless, (fetid), good for me, (foul) glass of green. And I did. Over the next three days, I tried different juices suggested here. None helped me, in fact only made it worse tasting, but I persevered. The hubz suggested on the fourth day that I hold my nose while drinking. (He went on to suggest other disgusting things it would be possible to eat/drink with one's nose plugged, things of which I will spare you.) So I mixed a scoop with about 6 oz of water, held my nose, and killed it. And it really was tolerable. The amazing thing is, after several days of drinking it that way, my taste buds acclimated to the horror. Now I can drink it freely, without plugging my nose. And it's really not bad at all anymore. I'd rather drink this than, say, a packet of Thermaflu. Another suggestion: put a scoop in a glass jar with a lid, add water and shake (rather than trying to stir it). It dissolves easily this way, but doesn't froth up if you use water. So far, I haven't noticed any change in my digestive *ahem* progress. I'm hoping that will come soon. However, I suffer horribly from indoor/outdoor allergies, and since taking this, I haven't had to take a single allergy pill. For the first time in 2 years. So that's pretty phenomenal, and has made a huge difference in quality of life for me. Overall, I feel measurably better; my mood is brighter, I have more energy, and have noticed improved skin tone. I've also been craving more water, but I'm not sure if that's a bi-product of ingesting this, or if it's a subliminal you-spent-40-plus-dollars-on-this-so-you-better-not-muck-it-up-with-diet-coke message fueling my thirst. Either way, more water=good. I give this product full stars. I still think I might try to Miracle Greens or Macro Greens, whatever they are. If any of you have tried both, and would indulge me by making comparisons in the comments, I'd like that a lot. Good luck!

Very good product, makes you feel good knowing that you are getting such good nutrition!

I bought this product mainly because I like to enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle; however, I do not enjoy eating vegetables and this is the perfect replacement. I work out regularly and mix this in with my chocolate flavored protein shake, along with some chia seeds and which work great for digestion. To be honest the product is great I feel healthier and more rejuvenated in general and get my daily servings of vegetables with ease. As people have mentioned before the taste is really bad and its hard to take down with just water alone. The health benefits easily outweigh the bad taste and as long as you keep this in mind when chugging it down you shouldn't have any problems, also many juices mask the taste very well. I just put this in my post-work out super shake which tastes terrible, but if your mentally prepared to put in the effort to work out and live healthier drinking this in your post-workout shake shouldn't be a problem.
