It's a Beast
I generally hesitate to write a significant review of an item until I've had a chance to use it. However, once removing this Matthews stand from the box and setting it up you quickly come to realize this thing is a beast. It is no lightweight stand and you quickly realize it will do almost anything you ask of it. It is heavy and heavy duty and the articulating arm and knuckles are heavy duty and multi functional. I would advise new users to watch a YouTube video or two on the correct way to use a C-stand to make the most of it's use and avoid misuse.

Worth it
Not the most expensive brand out there. Not the cheapest thing you can find either. Mathews has a solid reputation and this C-stand is heavy metal and sturdy. My am extremely confident my camera gear with be safe on this C-stand. Everything locks down securely with about 15 pounds of gear boomed over the products I photograph and the legs level out easily/crank down tightly. I would definitely buy another one from Mathews as needed.

Solid, sturdy, built to last
Have used this on several location shoots since I've bought it. Has performed extremely well and I'm fairly certain this stand will outlast me. I will certainly buy another.I'm using this primarily to hold 3 Speedlites in a 43" Westcott Apollo Orb. Works flawlessly, even when extended 10 feet up.I recommend reading/watching a couple Youtube videos on how to work a C-Stand if this is your first. These things are rock solid - but they MUST be positioned correctly, otherwise you run the risk of having a very expensive (and potentially injurious) accident.

The feet get stuck a lot when trying to collapse ...
The feet get stuck a lot when trying to collapse the unit. That's my only complaint but other than that, it's heavy duty.

Solid!
I love this stand. It's solid construction and depending on the size of modifier, the use of sandbags can be omitted (again depending on size and use of light and modifier). That said I wish it was a little more compact for ease of travel, so I give it 4 stars!

Very solid and quality C-stand.
This is the first C-stand I've ever purchased and used. I'm impressed by its quality and solidness. I didn't pay close attention in the description to realize how tall it was when collapsed (53 in.). I'll now need to find a bag/case to transport this. I like this stand a lot.

A thing of beauty.
OMG! A thing of beauty, my first Matthews stand, delightful to touch, tightens securely, with ergomatic ease. I LOVE it. Thank you Matthews and Amazon. I also bought sandbags for it and would like to see if a set of coasters is available. I will be implementing this stand with a beauty dish for starters.

Great Stand
I had wanted one of these stands for years. I finally caved in and bought one. I'll be adding more to my gear soon. It is a real game changer to be able to put a light exactly where you want it and know it isn't going to shift or slide.
