Accurate, Reliable, and can be Powered through USB
THE GOOD: -Large capacity. The large 60 lb capacity is more than other comparatively priced 50/55 lb scales by the same manufacturer. -USB connection. It has a USB port that can power the scale, so if you have a USB cable and AC wall plug lying around (who doesn't?), you now have a FREE AC wall connection. This was a huge plus for me, as other models have proprietary AC connection that are sold separately. -Very accurate. I've checked this scale against my smaller, more precise kitchen scale, and it's spot on every single time. -Detachable display. The front of the scale detaches so that you can weigh large items and still read the weight of them. -TWO display lines. The U2 can display BOTH Pounds & Kilograms, Pounds & Ounces or several other modes at the same time. I find this feature to be very useful for my purposes, being able to see two different weight scales at the same time. THE BAD: -Somewhat low profile. Depending on your specific needs, this could be a good or bad thing, but the top of scale sits about 2.25" off of the ground. Some items that I weigh are odd shaped (sacks of grain), so getting them to stay on the platform and not touch on the ground can require some maneuvering. -Software? I can't personally attest to this because I do not use the computer connectivity function of this scale, but it seems from looking at the negative feedback from others that the computer connectivity aspect of the scale is a let down. I was comparing the scale to other shipping scales of the same size, and none of the other scales had computer connectivity. THE BOTTOM LINE: This is a great shipping scale with useful features. I've had no trouble with it whatsoever. It might also be worth noting that I've never used the battery operation feature of the scale. I have several extra USB wall chargers around the house, and I prefer plugging it into the wall and not dealing with batteries. If you're considering the more popular UltraShip 55 lb. Digital Postal Shipping & Kitchen Scale , I would strongly consider buying this scale instead. According to My Weigh's website, the U2 is a more recent improvement on the UltraShip 55 and has more features. I could not find any advantage in going with the UltraShip series over the U2. When I purchased my U2 it was slightly more expensive that the UltraShip, but at the time of writing this the U2 is comparably priced. If you need computer connectivity, you might want to look into other options such as the DYMO Pelouze M25 Digital USB Postal Scales, 25lb, USB Connect, PC/Mac Compatible (1772059) or it's bigger brother, DYMO Pelouze S100 Digital USB Shipping Scales, 100lb, USB Connect, PC/Mac Compatible (1776111) to see if they better meet your needs.

Good and Bad
Have had this scale a short time so cannot comment on durability. I also cannot comment on the USB connectivity as I haven't tried and don't plan to use that feature. I did appear that the scale was purchased previously and returned. I don't think it was packaged appropriately for a delicate electronic device--the outer box just fit in two dimensions and there was padding on only one side. Overall, for the price, the scale seems pretty decent. It weighs consistently and at least reasonably accurately. The display is OK, not great, but not anything as bad as I feared reading some reviews. The biggest issue is the battery compartment, which as others have said, is too small to hold the batteries. Duh. I could just barely get Sony Eneloop batteries in far enough to work, but they are not properly seated and the cover does not close properly. Perhaps some work with a Dremel or file will resolve the problem, but you shouldn't have to do that. The other quality issue is with the removable front feature. The coiled wire that connects the two pieces does not fit well in the space provided for it, and the wire seems pretty flimsy. I'm not sure how long it would hold up if the front of the scale was removed frequently or left off routinely. On my scale, about an inch of the outer insulation on one side of the wire was missing in one spot. I don't know if it came from the factory this way or was the result of mishandling by the possible former purchaser. If you are looking for the highest quality, look elsewhere and spend more. If you want an inexpensive scale that does OK for light use for a while, go for it.

Good value in features, but flimsy plastic top and won't interface with Stamps.com
When I first opened the box, I was furious that it appeared to take 6 AA batteries, or AC power, but only shipped with a USB cable. The really great news was that the USB cable can be used to power up and use the scale and you don't need to fill the battery compartment or use AC at all. Since I use it in conjunction with shipping software, the USB cable serves two purposes, power and data transmission to the computer. That is where the bad news started for me though because I couldn't make this work with the Stamps.com software. There is a download link provided whereby a user can get instructions on a clumsy way to interface with Stamps.com by pressing the "SEND" button on the scale to populate the weight boxes in Stamps.com, but even this didn't work for me even after following the instructions. The good news is, I often enter weights manually anyway so having the features I want in the scale (and I do, I do) is more important than perfect integration with Stamps.com. For the money, the scale is fairly well made and is feature-rich. Even though the rating is up to 60lbs, I have little confidence in the flimsy plastic top which looks like it would break under that kind of weight. The features on this scale compare with those I saw having 2x the price. There are two units of weight displayed at any given time, so you can have kg in one, and lbs in the other, or lbs and oz and lbs, or many other possibilities. It goes off neatly after a while to save energy, but flips on neatly again with a touch of a button in a convenient location. Have you ever tried to weigh a box so large you couldn't read the scale? To remedy this problem, the front display can be detached and held some distance away from the scale.

Best scale I have seen and used, bummer no power cord
This is an upgrade for us from the 35lb model we had before. This is great as it weighs up to 60 lbs which is good for suitcases, boxes and other stuff we have. The removable face cover with long extension allow over sized items to sit on the scale and you can still see the weight and touch the controls. The letter accessory works well too, but I generally use the main scale for packages. The various weight measurements were good for international shipping. It is small enough to tuck away and low profile to store (except for the letter accessory which is bulky. I haven't had a need to use the long warranty coverage, but it is good to have it there just in case. The downside is that you have to buy your own power cord. I swore the listing said it included a power cord, but shortly after receiving it the listing was changed. We have had trouble with using just the batteries to power it. Seems like the battery area is not large enough or the batteries I have are too big, but they just don't fit in well so sometimes all 4 batteries sit in there but don't make contact with the sides to power the scale. You wiggle it around and it fixes the problem. Never got around to complaining to the manufacturer/seller, but maybe I got a defective scale. Outside of that, it works well to weight packages, which is the key thing for me.

My Weigh must be in the AC adapter buisness
Form/Fit As stated in the description the scale does not come with an adapter, but as not stated in the description AA batteries do not fit in the compartment. Maybe this is My Weigh's attempt to get users to buy an AC adapter; however, this will work either powering it by USB or modifying the battery compartment. Function It's a scale. I can say that the precision has a lot of variance, but the variance may be due to the firmware determining when the scale has stabilized (putting the weight on quickly vs slowly changes displayed value). I cannot comment on the accuracy because I do not have any standards, but for my purposes it measures gross values (7 lbs) accurately. Bottom Line If you need a cheap scale to measure gross weights such as DE filter media... go for it... fulfilling the stipulation you can use a rotary tool.

Great scale, Great Price and Buy two (2)
This is a GREAT little scale for home and small office (especially eBay) needs. It is fast and it plugs into the USB, but this is only for powering it (Work's off my iPhone charger - much cheaper wall wort no need for the power adapter). It doesn't magically integrate with UPS, FedEx, USPS or anything crazy like that. GREAT utilitarian postal scale for the money. Don't even bother downloading the software as it really doesn't do much but show the weight on your computer screen. The screen is large and easy to ready. Weights are as much as I need for basic mailings - debated between this one and the UltraShip 75 - VERY happy with 60 LBS max with the dual display. I love how you can set what is displayed on the top and bottom line. Easy and quick to compare USPS and FedEx without touching the scale. Overall it's a great product, and you can't beat the price. Just ordered a second one so I can have one at work and home. Harrison

Not usuable
Scale functions well once it is powered on. Only option for power is USB, provided you have an adapter on hand to plug the cord into. The battery compartment is too small to fit the required 6 AA cells. I tried Energizer, Duracell and Eneloop batteries that were available locally, none fit. I Could get the device to power on under battery power if I had the batteries seated "just right, but when trying to put the cover door on it never fit flush and the batteries would shift breaking the voodoo that I had worked to get them right. Not sure if it's a design flay or if it's a Quality control issue. From the fit an finish of the other pieces I would say it is most likely a design flaw, which means this scale is useless to me. I don't have an outlet readily available just for a scale, and I'm not paying additional for an AC adapter to over come poor design even if I did. This is being returned asap, I've sent an email to Myweigh to see what they say, regardless this one is going back.

Wonderful Scale
I bought this scale for my eBay items. I needed an accurate way to weigh everything without having to turn on my computer just to use the Stamps.com scale. The stamps scale was a terrible scale because it was in no way portable and would only work connected to a computer WITH an active stamps account. With this wonderful scale I accurately weigh all my items so I can give all my customers the best deal on shipping. PROS: The retractable screen. Ease of use. Simple CONS: The sleep feature which activates after a couple of minutes of NO USE. Comments: This is a great scale and for the price I highly recommend buying it. I have used it many times for my ebay items and it continues to accurately weigh everything.

PARFAIT

Mysteries of the Universe
Tested it with several weights and found it to be perfectly accurate and easy to work with. Love the dual display. Wish it came with a power pack. I have been reading a lot of ranting on the USA side of AMAZON about the drivers and how it doesn't play well with windows. For me this rambling is nonsense as they lost sight of the fact that this is a pretty descent scale. If some are too lazy to punch a few numbers in an online screen and need it integrated into the windows shell then by all means spend a fortune on a big interface. It is unfortunate that "My Weigh" placed any kind of windows interface in this scale at all as this gives some a soap box to stand on and rave about this terrible injustice to humanity and it's detrimental effects to the future of evolution of the cosmos on a quantum scale. The unit sent to me is a good scale with good scale-like features and functions. Looking forward to many years of good service out of this scale.
