Fit - The Large fits my 23" head well. Not too tight, but secure. Feels light on the head, hardly know it's there. The brim size is wide enough for sun and rain protection. Construction - Although very light, the hat is well built with a sweat band and lining inside. Surprisingly stiff pre-formed brim with fabric sewn to a hidden plastic sheet. I doubt the brim can be easily molded or changed. But that's OK since it's a good look already. The crown is stiff and holds it's shape well for such a light fabric. Had a couple of small creases from shipping. A quick shot of steam removed creases and crown went back to original shape. The description claims water resistant and water beads off the fabric, but haven't had it in the rain yet. Nor has it been in the hot sun, but given it's light fabric it should be good. Style - This hat's style and stiff fabric make it quite elegant compared with other safari or adventure hats. It can be worn with either fancy clothes or for a hike. Keep in mind, this isn't a crushable or packable hat. Don't expect to carry it in a back pack or suitcase. Perhaps that's why it looks nicer than a Tilley or other packable design. Overall - Been wearing this hat for two weeks and really like it. Feels good in the Colorado springtime with sunny temparatures just above freezing, up into the 60s. Looking forward to testing this hat in the hot summer sun.

My new Baileys hat just arrived and I same extremely pleased with it. I was looking for something along the lines of a fedora but not heavy felt or wool but lighter for warm weather wear. This hat is perfect. It is of heavy cloth with a wide, stiff, nearly three inch brim. It has air holes to breath and will shade my head nicely in sunny weather but since it is also waterproof it can be worn on rainy days if I choose. The fit is fine. I am a 7 3/8 so this large is a great fit. The color was slightly darker that I expected but I expect it will gradually fade a bit to a perfect khaki. All in all a great buy and just what I was looking for.

This hat is somewhat large. This is the problem with hat sizes that run in a range (from this to that). However, it is well constructed, protects my head from sun, cold, and rain. Yes, it is water resistant and was tested in the first rain of the season. Grant you, it was not a downpour, just a normal light rain. The water beaded up and did not soak through. I have received many compliments on the hat. In fact, I officiated an outdoor wedding and was told to wear the hat while performing the ceremony. The other day, I was told it was very stylish. It looks great, and serves the required function. The brim is really wide, but this is great if you are looking for protection from the sun. It is not collapsible. You cannot put this in your suitcase. If you don't want to wear it while traveling, use a hat box or buy a Tilley Expendable. Four starts due to the size range making the fit a case of less than perfect.

Great Quality

The hat seems very well made and it’s great looking. Had to buy it a little oversized but, thanks to a foam hat sizing kit, it now fits perfectly and is very comfortable. Wish it had a chin strap so I could wear it on my scooter.

This could have been a very nice hat. I liked the description and the look from the pictures online. The size runs true. I wear a 7 1/4 and a large fits great. The material and workmanship are above standard. And then I unpacked it . . . It was shipped in a box that was too small for the hat so it had to be crushed to fit. I opened the plastic bag it was in and straightened out the brim and crown. The material is creased on the front of the crown so that I consider the hat unpresentable. I dont know if I could take it to a cleaners and they could steam it to remove the wrinkles or not. I shouldnt have to. I don't want to be seen wearing it so I guess I will just hang it on the wall.
