Best thumb picks
It comes with different sizes and shapes so that you most likely will find a one fitch in your thumb. I've tried Dunlop and Golden Gate Ivoroid thumb picks. So far the GP perloid thumb picks are my favorite. It fits good in my thumb and the tone is great on my Martin. Highly recommend.

Great quality simply too tight

Warning, extra thick large pearloid version is slightly smaller than regular thickness large version
I am a huge Golden Gate fan, using mando and thumbpicks for years.Golden Gate makes a superb product, period.I have used golden gate large thumb picks for years.Assuming that my box was NOT mis marked, (I compared to my other large golden gates, these pearloid versions , xtra thick, appear to be the same size)BUT!!!!!PLEASE BE AWARE that the large extra thick version will actually feel SMALLER and tighter on the thumb, than the normal large, which is what I use. While every one has their own fitting preference, and I like a secure thumb pick, I don't want one that feels tight, as opposed to secure. These felt less comfortable and form fitting than my other golden gates, (confetti and ivoroid versions, in large). This is due, I believe due to the thicker plastic in this version (pealoid xtra thick) actually decreasing the thumb hole.It was enough of a difference that I returned the box. Normally im not fussy, and use many brands and varying sizes, but this felt like a size smaller, too snug and not as comfortable. My hands and thumb are average in size and thickness.

Great upgrade to standard plastic thumb picks
I had to replace a lesser model thumb pick which had broken so I was searching for an upgrade. These picks are very comfortable to wear. The actual is a few millimetres longer than I had but I haven't had any issues with precision or accuracy. The smoother surface gives a cleaner, crisper sound to my ears. The picks are a few microns thicker than standard plastic picks so they feel more robust and durable.I am glad that I chose the upgrade. I am certain this 12 pack will last me a while.

Worth the extra $$
Great thumbpicks that fit my extremely fat thumbs better than most (though Golden Gate Ivoroid fit better, check those out if you struggle finding comfortable size L). I'm sure that there may be some discernible difference in tone compared to plastic but I can't hear it. Stays positioned well and stays put when you change the angle of attack for different effect. But most important to note is that these don't break nearly as much as plastic picks so that needs to be figured in when you think about the cost. To me they're absolutely worth it. I have not broken one yet, actually.

THE thumb picks to have, in my book
These are awesome. Nice and heavy with a fair amount protruding--just the way I like it.(I've tried a dozen different kinds. These are the best.)Easy to fit, too. Hold it on a string or something in dip it boiling water for 6 or 7 seconds.Take it, put it on your thumb, and let it cool off. It opens to the exact size you need.(Good thing I bought a box of 12. I ruined 2 of them before I found the right amount of time. They are now very flat pieces of useless plastic...)

Just cannot recommend them enough
I've been using these for about three years, and I don't ever want to have to use anything else. If you have a problem with thumb picks moving around on you too much while you're playing, then these picks are exactly what you need. I play a few gigs and a few open mics per month, and I go thru a package of these per year, just about. Just cannot recommend them enough. Cheers to Golden Gate for designing these.

Too hard and heavy
As others commented, these picks are just too massive to sound good. If you're looking for a classic Jim Dunlop style thumbpick, give these a miss- zero flexibility. Also a bit large, but that's not the main issue.

It feels like a part of my hand
I’ve been looking for a thumb pick that feels natural for years. Once fitted, this thing disappeared or so it felt. It feels like a part of my hand.
