Great price and fit!
Had moisture escaping for what I assumed is a bad ice dispenser cap. Replacement is easy (plenty of videos showing how) and fixed the problem. The fit is perfect as this is oem and price is right.

Needs a Trick to Install
Our 18 year old GE Profile "Artica" refrigerator had ice buildup in the chute of the dispenser resulting in a continual blockage. The ice door flapper was not closing properly allowing warm air to enter into the chute, causing the problem. We ordered a new "door damper" which arrived in four days. The part was in a clear resealable "baggie" with no GE logo or markings. Other sites showed same OEM part in a sealed bag with GE logo....was this GE OEM part? Also, the part came in 2-pieces unlike the picture. The black flat part "flapper" clearly was designed to fit into the lip of the white connector piece. It is impossible to seat the black flapper into the connector piece unless you use this "trick". Heat water (not boiling) and immerse the black flapper into the water for 3-4 minutes making it more pliable. Next start seating the black flapper into the white connector working around the edge of the lip. You may need to immerse both pieces again, once started to complete. Installation was straight forward. Alos check the ice door solenoid as (to the right of the ice chute) mine was covered in rust and the "plunger" stuck and not allowing the door to close properly. Final tip....look at several videos on the install before starting as each on shows something that the others don't include.

Fixed the issue, with a slight mod
So I was noticing a lot of frost inside my GE side by side refrigerator on the freezer side - right near the ice chute. Googled the issue and found it was most likely a failure of this part. While it was still closing, the rubber gasket had deteriorated a bit and was not creating a tight seal, so warm air was getting up the chute. Very easy to replace the part, took me about 5 minutes. However, as others stated here, the top of the gasket gets caught up on the plastic frame and does not close all the way. I saw some other reviewers note they had to trim the rubber a bit. I did this with very sharp scissors and only trimmed away a minimal piece, then tried it. Still stuck. Trimmed some more and tried again, still stuck. After a few trims, I got it to where it closed every time and still covered the opening 100%. Had to trim straight across the top to create a flat top. Be aware that after the ice dispensing stops, it takes about 3-4 seconds for the door to close, this is normal. At first I thought it was another issue, since I never noticed it do that before. Guess i just never paid attention. But no more frost and less than $10, I'm happy. The spring and solenoid were still in good shape, so I did not replace those.

Perfect fit
Fit our 2004 Hotpoint/GE side-by-side. Get that firm "Pop" back when the ice maker stops dispensing! After 20 years we started having problems with the water line freezing up. Turns out it was attributed to the defrost heating element failing. While I was at it I installed about 5 fresh parts in the water and ice dispensing unit as well as a heating pad to prevent the water tube from freezing. I can't believe our 22 year old refer is good as new. It still makes tons of ice and maintains temperature perfectly.

That Damn Damper Door
I have paid for a professional to come in and repair our twenty-two year old GE Profile refrigerator. It was unpleasant. This time, I realized the issue was a damper door flap that had, for some reason, become misshapen. I can't explain why it was deformed, but it was not sealing properly and allowing a large amount of frost to build up inside the freezer. This time, it was off the "You Tube University" to learn how to replace the Ice Dispenser Damper Door myself. Tools gathered, project begun, and damper door replaced. It was at the limit of my DIY skills, but was not really difficult. I bought a spare to replace it again in the future, should I need to do it. Just prepare and research before beginning the project (or any DIY project).

Perfect replacement for ge profile fridge
Itโs pretty easy to replace the flapper once you get the panel to come out. There are YouTube videos showing you how to replace it. However, itโs pretty tricky to get the panel to come out. There are two tiny spots under the panel for you to insert the slot head screwdriver to pop open the panel. You will have to use those diamond shape ones or you will risk breaking the hooks that secure the panel. The tiny opening looks like this -_| from the inside. The underscore(_) is the opening for the screwdriver to go in, and pipe(|) is the hook. The slot head supposes to go into the opening and push the hook to the side to release it. Thatโs why you will have to use the diamond shape ones or you will be hard pulling on the hook and snap it. If the panel doesnโt come out with gentle force, then you are doing it wrong, and you need to stop. Otherwise, you will be looking for super glue and hope it can glue the broken piece back. !_!
