Word well
I use this to detect metal inside rescued birds. It’s lightweight and waterproof which is perfect when handling birds. It does detect metals inside and that’s what I needed.

Scanner
Like this tool as it us reliable ferrous and non-metal readings. Accurate and you have seen these being used at airports. For me thus works better than the pole type metal detectors as this as scanner is accurate and quick to pinpoint an object.

Great for sawmilling
Nice addition to my tool chest for the sawmill. Good sensitivity on logs. Need to keep it away from other metal such as tractor or sawmill or you get false positives. Needs to be moving to work so it can be difficult to use as a pinpointed. Over a good purchase.

Good Tool
I'm a woodworker, and I've started getting some rough sawn lumber from a friend's "back woods". You never know what's been done to some of the trees in areas like that. It only takes a little nail to mess up a jointer or planner blade.I've used the detector now several times. First time I scanned all the wood I had gotten from my friend, and it hadn't given me any alarms. Felling a little concerned, I decided to test it by putting a loose 8d finish nail on the "underside" of the last 1" thick oak board. Sure enough, the scanner set off an alarm.I'm confident that this tool will help me protect my other woodworking equipment for some time to come. I'd buy this again.

Works great
Have a sawmill and this is great for finding the metals that people put in them nails, bullets etc. The money we save in saw blade’s now is great. Thank you for a great product

Info for the woodworkers... (Tested for staples in Purpleheart)
I just got mine and it did find staples in wood. Even though the company's response is that it isn't designed for it. Nothing is perfect, so they probably just don't want to have people demanding new saw blades. LoLMy test wasn't very scientific, but satisfied my requirements.I placed an open staple under 3/8" (9mm) of kiln dried Purpleheart and it constantly alarmed as long as the wand was touching the wood. If you have never used Purpleheart, it is denser than oak, so I figured it would be good for a test. The unit picked up a staple sitting on top of the wood when scanning from about 1/4" (6mm) distance.Just an FYI:Several things will affect the performance of the wand. Type of metal, density of wood, moisture content of the wood, and battery strength. Probably a few other things as well. Also, this is a motion sensor device, so you have to keep the wand moving...Hope this helps. Now off to the reclaimed wood pile.... :-)
