Dry Chain Lube, Wax-Based Bike Chain Oil for Bicycle, 120ml.

Living somewhere dry and dusty most of the season, I've cycled through a handful of "all-weather" lubes that promised versatility and delivered mediocre performance everywhere. Muc-Off's Bio Dry is purpose-built for exactly my conditions, and the difference is immediately noticeable. **Quality: ★★★★★** Wax-based formula with genuinely deep penetrative qualities you can feel it working its way into each chain link rather than just sitting on the surface, which shows in how quiet and smooth the drivetrain runs afterward. **Reliability: ★★★★★** Consistent, silky gear shifts every time I've applied it. No inconsistent performance ride to ride like I've had with cheaper dry lubes. **Price: ★★★★** The 50ml bottle isn't huge, but a single application lasts up to 150 miles, so it stretches further than the size suggests. Fair value for a premium formula. **Longevity/Durability: ★★★★½** This is the standout category the wax-based protective layer genuinely holds up against dust and grit rather than washing off or attracting grime like oil-based lubes tend to. **Fitment (Application/Versatility): ★★★★★** Suitable for road, MTB, and cyclocross, and it's not limited to just the chain works on cables, shifters, and derailleurs too, which made it a one-bottle solution for my whole drivetrain. **Ease of Use: ★★★★** The pipette system makes precise, drip-by-drip application easy without overdoing it. Only minor note: for best results you're supposed to wipe excess and let it sit a few hours before riding, so it's not quite an instant "apply and go." **Bonus — Sustainability:** Fully biodegradable, which is a nice bonus for anyone who cares about what's washing off their bike and into the environment. **Bottom Line:** If you ride primarily in dry, dusty conditions, this is about as dialed-in as chain lube gets. The wax formula genuinely resists contamination better than general-purpose lubes, shifting stays smooth and quiet for the long haul, and the biodegradable formula is a welcome bonus. Easy recommend for road, MTB, or cyclocross riders looking to upgrade their drivetrain maintenance routine.

This Muc-Off Bio Dry Bike Chain Lube is excellent. I’ve been using it on my Canyon Speedmax for the last year and it has kept the drivetrain in great condition. What I like: The wax-based formula keeps everything smooth and quiet with very little chain noise. Creates a nice protective dry layer that repels dirt and dust — my chain stays much cleaner than with wet lubes. Shifts are crisp and smooth even after long rides. The pipette applicator makes it super easy and clean to apply without wasting product. A little goes a long way. One 50ml bottle has lasted me many rides and the bike still feels fast and efficient. Perfect for road and triathlon bikes like my Speedmax. Highly recommend if you want a clean, dry lube that actually works.

As any mountain biker knows, a smooth, quiet drivetrain is key to a great ride, and the right chain lube plays a huge role in that. After using MTB Chain Lube for several weeks on my mountain bike, I can confidently say it’s an essential product for maintaining a reliable, efficient drivetrain. Here’s my take on it: Application & Ease of Use: One of the best things about this MTB Chain Lube is how easy it is to apply. The bottle comes with a precision nozzle that allows you to apply the lube directly to the chain without making a mess. A little goes a long way, so you don't need to overdo it. It’s simple to use, and you can quickly lube your chain before or after a ride, keeping your bike in top condition. I always make sure to wipe off any excess after application to prevent attracting dirt, but the process is efficient and fuss-free. Performance: When it comes to performance, this chain lube excels in both dry and wet conditions. I’ve tested it in a variety of environments—muddy, wet, dusty, and dry—and it consistently provides smooth, quiet operation. In wet conditions, it does a great job of preventing rust and corrosion, while also repelling water to keep the drivetrain functioning optimally. In dry conditions, it keeps the chain running smoothly without attracting excessive dirt or grime. Whether I’m climbing steep trails or flying down fast descents, the lube keeps everything operating efficiently without any annoying squeaks or friction. Durability: The durability of this chain lube is impressive. It lasts longer than most lubes I’ve tried, even after riding through wet, muddy trails or getting my bike washed. I noticed that the chain stays lubricated for several rides before needing a reapplication. It doesn’t dry out quickly, which is essential for long-distance riders who don’t want to constantly reapply lube. It helps protect the chain from wear and tear, prolonging the lifespan of both the chain and the drivetrain. Cleaning & Maintenance: MTB Chain Lube also does a great job of preventing excessive buildup of dirt and grime. It doesn’t attract as much debris as some other lubes I’ve used, which means I spend less time cleaning the chain and more time riding. After a few rides, the chain is still relatively clean, and when it does need cleaning, the lube doesn’t form sticky, gunky clumps that are hard to remove. The lube leaves behind a nice protective coating that makes future cleanings easier. Value for Money: At its price point, this MTB Chain Lube offers excellent value. Given its performance in different conditions, long-lasting lubrication, and minimal need for reapplication, it’s a product that lasts and works effectively over time. Considering how crucial chain maintenance is to the overall performance of your bike, this lube provides great performance without breaking the bank. Conclusion: The MTB Chain Lube is an outstanding product for keeping your mountain bike’s drivetrain in top shape. Whether you ride in dry, dusty conditions or wet, muddy terrain, it offers excellent lubrication, protection, and durability. The easy application, long-lasting performance, and clean finish make it a must-have for any mountain biker. If you want a reliable and affordable chain lube that works across different conditions and helps maintain your bike's performance, this is the one to get. Highly recommended!

I have tried a bunch of chain lubes, and honestly I'm still undecided on one and only one, over the years I have tried many brands, so after cleaning my chain from a previous dry lube, I tried this, the applicator is precise and not wasteful, I do the drip every link method which always worked well, this formula comes out white, and I can see it quickly penetrate the rollers quickly, I usually don't even wipe the chain as it's mostly dry to the touch after letting it sit 8 hours (best to apply it a day before a ride or else the carrier solvent won’t have time to evaporate leaving you with a wet chain), it also has a pleasant scent making it nice to work with. So far my drivechain has been very clean, much cleaner then when I used other dry lubes so that's a plus, after a couple 20 mile rides I noticed the chain start to get noisy which is usually an indicator it needs to be lubed again, so I guess that's the drawback of this lube is that it should be applied after every couple of rides, besides for being clean I am unsure how well it protects the components, as it being clean does leave fewer contaminants but how well it's actually lubricating the rollers and other parts is hard to tell in the short term. Overall I recommend it, definitely in my top list of dry lubes, and probably the cleanest one I used so far, I mostly ride in super dry and dusty conditions and often the second rider in a group so lots of additional dust.

This chain lube has been great on my bike. Applied it easy with the applicator tip, doesn't drip everywhere or make a mess like some lubes do. Wax based formula dries clean too, doesn't stay tacky or attract a bunch of dirt and grime once it sets Chain runs smooth after applying, no squeaking or grinding noise, shifting feels crisp too since the drivetrain isn't gunked up. Lasted a good while before needing to reapply, even after riding through some rough or dusty trails Doesn't attract as much dust and debris compared to wet lubes I've used before, which means less cleaning of the chain overall. A little goes a long way too so the bottle is lasting me a good amount of time Overall solid lube, keeps the chain running quiet and clean, would buy again :)

I live in Central Texas and this is the lube I use on my chain all year. The only exception being on one of the four days we get a torrential down pour, then I will use muc off wet. This one however is the best! It goes on easy coats and protects the metal, dries fairly dry I do recommend waiting a couple hours before removing the excess and riding just because you get the maximum protection. Don't believe me just watch the YouTube videos out there pitting different bike chain lubes from expensive to super cheap. Those videos even highlight my favorite part. If I follow the instructions exactly and later ride through typical dusty/sandy/dirt of central texas, this lube lets most of that chain wrecking crap fall right back off while still protecting the metal on metal surfaces from wearing away. Seems magical and too good to be true but it works better than anything else I have found. I still clean my chain frequently in dry weather but I have been able to get away with not cleaning every time. The easiest way for me is to touch the chain and feel/listen for junk between the moving parts. Unless you just cleaned it super well you will almost always feel/hear something but this lube doesn't collect as much junk and just as important, with a little dish soap it comes off easily. I also like that it's more environmentally friendly. The wet lube however takes twice as long to remove when cleaning. Just make sure you read the instructions and don't forget to shake before applying (otherwise some of the good stuff settles at the bottom of the bottle). I even like the odd coconut banana scent ***Been over a year and this is still the best bicycle lubricant I've found! I use it for almost everything on my 100lbs long tail cargo ebike, I mention the bike weight because of the extra strain on everything and just FYI this update is 1750 miles later.

This is only an initial review, since I haven't even taken a ride yet since lubing my chain with this stuff but these are my first impressions. After washing my bike and chain, I proceded to lube the chain according to my experience, which is contrary to the instructions, which mention lubing every part of the chain, when in actuality, all you need to lube are the rollers from the top of the chain. Anyway, after finishing and wiping off the excess, I noticed something special right away. I have never gotten my chain spotless after de-greasing, and after lubing with another brand of lube, I would always get more grit and dirt on the cloth I used to wipe off the excess immediately, but with this product, that wasn't the case. It's quite viscous but only more so than the watery lube I would use before. I only dabbed a drop for each roller in my chain and made sure to get each one and rotate the chain and cassette. But while I held the cloth under the chain to get the excess off, all I got was lube and no extra dirt. This shows me what it's like to deal with a quality product and although Muc-Off is everywhere you deal with cycling, they've seemed to have earned their reputation. And while $10 seems like a lot for a bottle of lube, the amount I actually used was minuscule and this will last a good long while. The opaque bottle will even keep light from getting in and drying out the lube, which has happened to me in the past with the other brand I have used in the past. But no more. Muc-Off has won themselves another customer and I can't wait to try out more of their products. Best thing about this lube is the scent. They didn't have to add any scent to this lube and it still would have been great, but details like these make me smile. Give this a try, you won't be disappointed!

Love this product.I use it on my bike and my electric bike

Great product

Very easy to use, dust isn't sticking to my chain like it would with other lubricants. overall very good product
