When I received the flat package with barely a handful of dried shrimp in it, I intended to come here and warn against buying it. It's expensive, it's gross, it smells, it's hardly any shrimp and a lot of shell crumbs, and surely it's intended for cats, right? But then I offered it to my extremely picky elderly miniature schnauzer, who is diabetic and has little interest in eating at all. And it was like potato chips for dogs. He loved it and was instantly all over it. We used the shell crumbs to sprinkle over our puppies' food and they love it, too. My schnauzers love fish, so they like all the dried fish offerings like salmon and whitefish, too. This is an excellent, if expensive, product.

My cat is picky when it comes to eating dry and crunchy things. She won't eat these shrimp treats unless crushed--which the product/brand can't control. They do a good job of making the dried shrimp enticing to pets with the very loud shrimp smell. Though intended as a crunchy treat to reduce plaque, she enjoys them more when mixed into her wet food, which adds extra fiber from the shrimp shell.

My cat was moderately interested in these shrimp, but they smell so strong I can't keep them in my house.

I gotta say these treats are definitely more pungent smelling compared to other treats I’ve bought for my cat, but I personally am not that sensitive to smells so I don’t mind that aspect at all. My cat loves these treats so much that I’ve caught him trying to nibble through the bag 3 times now! I’ve even moved his treats elsewhere so that he can’t get into them unsupervised, but he has found them each time lol. Based on the product pictures they have displayed, I was expecting to find many whole shrimps, however the bag that I received was mostly crumbled up with only a few pieces that were actually whole. The crushed up bits make for a good topper, but if you are looking to buy these for your fur baby’s dental hygiene, I would honestly suggest finding a different freeze dried treat for them to nibble on since these aren’t guaranteed to have in tact pieces apparently. These treats vary in terms of softness as well depending on the size of the shrimps, so I would be a little wary of that. I’m only mentioning this because one of my cat’s teeth fell out while eating one of these today. He has very very good oral health, so I would just take the softness/texture into consideration before buying.

SO GOOD. I'm tellin' you, these Northwest Naturals freeze-dried shrimp are an absolute 10/10. I opened the bag and immediately, the energy was there. They are just SO GOOD. I was looking for a snack for the pets, but honestly, seeing how much they love them? It’s life-changing. Every single bite—SO GOOD. You don't understand, the quality is top-tier. If you're thinking about getting these, just do it. It is literally SO GOOD. I'm probably gonna need ten more bags because it's just... yeah. SO GOOD

These are a waste of your money. The entire bag is filled with mainly shells and legs. Maybe 3 tails and saw 2 heads.

If you’re wondering if your little pouch might like these, I’m here to tell you that the answer is an overwhelming yes. I bought these as toppers for my dog and cat meals. Day one I opened them and added one shrimp to each bowl and placed them in the pantry. Day two I chose to skip the shrimp and use a different topper…. My pooch didn’t like that… while I wasn’t looking she opened the pantry door, got the bag of shrimp off the shelf, ripped it open, and ate every last shrimp from the bag. So, if you’re buying these, put them on the highest shelf.
