Just wow. So bright, so fresh, and so nice! Like many gentlemen of a certain age, I tinker on old stuff and fixing stuff a lot in the garage in the dark winter months, and my 2 strip lamps over the workbench are actually not in the right place, (not right overhead), and are pretty dim, and take around 30 seconds or so of flash flash flash, and then "plink" they are on. This new LED light gives you light quality equal to out-doors on a summers' day, and an even light from the whole length of the strip - meaning no shadows on my workbench. Fitting it took literally 30 seconds, as it is soooo easy to put up. It comes with 3 clips which you screw in to a supporting beam above, and it comes with the screws you need, (plus rawl plugs in case you are going in to brick or similar). You then clip it in place. It comes with about 1m of flex, meaning you can put it up, and then wire it whilst it is in place, (bye bye saggy cables). A couple of cable-clips nailed in place and you're done. Things I'd prefer? 1m cable was an unexpectedly nice addition, but for me, I was 2m away from my power source - so I had to get extra cable anyway. This lamp comes with a handy cable-clip to join the wires without soldering or jointing, however it was a bit flimsy for my liking, (the rest of the lamp is rock-solid construction BTW), so I didn't use their clip for the cable, and used a proper joint connector to be nice and safe for the decades of use this lamp will surely provide. I already look forward to pottering and fixing things, (fixed my son's laptop screen the other day, and an iPod doc, and even did some welding of a piece of agricultural equipment last weekend). However this new lamp makes it even more of a joy. Could not be more delighted with this, and at this price, it is amazing. No idea how long it will last - but my guess is "ages".

Health Warning: IF you buy this light then please please PLEASE buy a pair of sunglasses to go with it! The bright white light is far reaching when put up. More far reaching that ya standard warm light flourescent tubing that you replace it with in your kitchen. Only one problem looking directly at the light is like looking into the sun - ya need sunglasses! lol This is NOT a criticism but my god Im still reeling and got burn-in images in my eyes so when I go into my kitchen next im wearing sunglasses! Its a good light. Easy to install. I had an issue with my existing cabling in the ceiling and had to pushg it back up and in especially when ya have several ring mains feeding through it. This light in the end was easy to attach to the ceiling and instant light. No flickering No warm light. Just pure natural light that we should all be using as our lighting these days. Id recommend this item to anyone who's looking at brightening their dreary old kitchen lighting up. One other issue - when you install this light - you're gonna have to decorate as the light reveals all the blemishes - the marks the cobwebs the lot! Now all I gotta do is go out and buy some nice white paint to decorate with! 5 Star!

I Fitted 2 of these down my cellar as I have a workshop down there, the size of a garage. There is no natural light down there so getting the right lighting was necessary. I bought these as they were advertised as daylight lighting, so not clinical lighting. Gives excellent spread of lighting so no shaded areas in the workshop. I am super impressed with this lighting. Definitely worth the money in my opinion. Easy to fit with the brackets supplied. Slimline, so gives more headroom if you're installing on a low ceiling. The only niggle I had was that it was pre-wired and the wiring is on the back of it so it has to go directly into the ceiling. There is no hole for you to wire directly into the light. The casing is plastic though and I cut a small hole in the side of it to pass the wire out to the side. It's only a small niggle though and I would definitely buy another when I need them.

If you're after a very bright daylight effect light, look no further. The 5ft one I bought is pretty savage and these would be great for any loft, garage or mancave. Even comes with a little Wago style connector so no need for chocolate blocks. The only downer is the installation clips, otherwise it would get 5 stars. Not being dumb, it's easy to see they are designed with very little tolerance for anything other than use on a completely flat and straight ceiling. Anything a bit wonky or covered in ghastly artex and the clips become a tad unruly and you can't get the light over them securely. This, however, is easily solved by simply putting a washer or two (depending on their thickness and your ceiling wonkiness) between the clip and the ceiling to lower it a few mm and allow for the light casing to fit over the clip. Yes, you'll have a tiny gap between the light and the ceiling but you'd never notice it unless you happen to occasionally crawl around on the ceiling like that scene from Trainspotting... Cracking light, don't be put off by the comments left by others about installation - just use your noggin and it'll fit fine. Worst case scenario, if you really can't get the clips to work, there's enough room at each end of the light base for a hefty amount of double sided 3M tape... as the light weighs so little, I'm sure that'll be enough to hold it in place (genuine 3M automotive tape, not knock off cheap stuff!)

We wanted a really good light for the kitchen while working with flames and very hot items. This is a nice clear white light with a good spread beam. The fittings are nicely finished and the mounting very simple once you understand how they work - a simple series of spring clips attached to the ceiling and the light fitting simply clips over these clips. Neat and elegant for a very lightweight unit. This is the second unit we have bought as the original only lasted about 22 months so hope this one exceeds that. However at the price it is not really a deal breaker.

A very simple light to fit to a ceiling or other overhead fixing. There are three clips that screw into the ceiling and the light clips into these fixings. The wire comes out at one of the light but is long enough to reach to the middle so the light can be centrally fitted if you want. You are even supplied with a connector to clip the cable to the mains supply and this clip does not require a screwdriver. The light is very bright and is a great improvement compared to the old tube lights. It is even a lot lighter in weight so very easy to manage during installation. So far I am very pleased with the light.

Bright and works well

This unit is very easy to install, replacing a 5 ft. fluorescent light. No need for an electrician if you know how to safely connect wires. A little concerned that the instructions suggest using electricians tape to make the two wire connection whereas a simple terminal 'choc-block' connection is much safer. The mounting brackets slightly distort the true line of the feature but for the price, this is a minor criticism. However, I was not prepared for how BRIGHT this Lumiere is. I chose cold white for the kitchen and it will take me a few nights to get used to it. It really is a bright white light. We have cold white LED lighting in our bathroom but this unit surpasses the brightness that my wife and I are used to. I may consider changing this unit for a warmer colour and reassign the current unit to the garage. If you want a really bright, white light that sits very nicely on the ceiling then I recommend this. Sunglassses might be a good idea! Tell the film crew to leave their lights in the van, they won't need them.
