They ravaged their Mother, The Earth, and bound Her with sorcerous chains. The moon caught fire; the sun froze. In the veins of the world Her lifeblood choked to dust. The oceans boiled to miasmas that clotted the skies. Rocks fanged up from the stubble of dying forests. As She began to rot, Her creatures, Her children, survived as best they could. Tearing at each other, prowling in Her fetid hollows, breeding abominations. And, as the ages passed, some lineages of men grew monstrous as others diminished, weakened, and became easily their captives. These "higher" men fed on the lesser, growing in strength, and hurled their tribes one upon the other in terrible truce-less wars. Until one tribe crushed the others into kneeling submission under a lord, nameless save for his title: TYRANT! Based on the Chronicles of HATE graphic novel by acclaimed artist Adrian Smith, HATE is a board game of brutal combat and conquest in a desolate world of ravenous warriors and depraved mysticism. Take control of your tribe and lead them in battle against your opponents. Tribes clash against each other to achieve objectives, massacre the enemy, and reap rewards from blood and land. As the Chronicle unfolds, players engage each other in numerous clashes in an effort to defend or conquer territories, trying to be the ultimate Tyrant and rule the wastes of the world. Each battle in the Chronicle has consequences, not only in terms of the control of the land, but also in the tribes that fight for it. Killing your opponent in merciless fashion and reaping all that which the land has to give allows your warriors to gain new skills, turning them into ever more formidable killers as the Chronicle progresses. You will also be able to bolster your village, giving your tribe extra abilities and features to use in both short and long term. However, dismemberment and death may also be your fate in the battlefield, a burden you must bear in your struggle to dominate the world of HATE!

Great miniatures
Full disclosure: I bought the game just for the miniatures. I don't plan on playing the game. And the miniatures are really nice, with excellent detail.

You get the full KS rectangular box with all backer exclusives. (The image showing is square.)
I was a little worried I was getting a smaller box without the KS stretch goals due to the square box pictured. I did get the full rectangular KS with all stretch goals inside. Nothing to worry about. The full 8 bands and mercenaries are not pictured but are in the box.The sculpts, and number of minis you get are mind bogglingly awesome. The KS was $120 + shipping. Worth every penny. So much painting to do. Haven't played the game yet, but looks fun. If you like Adrian Smith's art and mini painting get this yesterday.

Extremely detailed Minis
Arrived promptly! The miniatures are extremely detailed, pictures don't do justice to the level of detail in the minis. Very little clean-up required, just a few mold lines and an occasional warped sword that can be straightened with heat
