Great tire for dry rocky trails

I like this tire and it replaced a narrow tire on the rear of my mountain bike that had a very flat profile and was somewhat narrow. I had an older version of this tire on the front so that's why I bought another for the back. I don't really ride assertive/fast but I can feel that I get a bit more traction and the tire being fatter than what I had I feel a get a slightly more cushioned ride. And even though it is on the back it does have a rounder profile than what was there and it seems that just maybe that helps with turning. Hard to tell about that because I did some other mods to the bike as the same time I installed this tire. It was a bit difficult to put on the rim. Not the hardest one I've ever put on but not the easiest either. So it goes, just meant I had to really concentrate on what I was doing and use the really big plastic tire irons I have instead instead of the little puny ones I seem to always get in the package when I buy tubes. BTW, one one I bought was for a 26" rim.

Been running this on my daughter’s bike as her rear tire. She’s about 100lb, and this is on a hard tail, for context. Tubeless sealed up super easy. Took about a day after adding the sealant to stay inflated, but been solid ever since. Traction looks good. Riding lots of dry, dusty, and rocky trails. At sub $50, this is a good deal.

Do not get the mountian king if you ride on the road most of the time as you'll slow down so much from the friction. that and the road wears these tires out like crazy if you do. but on the mud and dirt these things shine. got away with alot of stupid riding on corners definitely my favorite for heavy off road trails.

I was pretty disappointed when this tire arrived and it was a singular tire instead of two, which makes the value seem a lot worse when you thought it was two for that price instead of one. Regardless, I put this tire on the back wheel of my bike and a Walmart tire on the front wheel and it rode wonderfully until my bike got stollen. So the tire is a good tire, but expensive, and as far as I'm aware, lasted just as long as the other one. And if you're the one who stole my bike out from under my front deck/porch... shame on you.

I just installed these tires on my wtb 27.5 wheels. I pumped them to 40psi front, 45 rear and took them out for a ride at my local trail. Immediately I noticed the cornering was better than the continental cross kings running same wheelset and tire pressure. I felt more confident on descents and attacked the ascents. I have more control at faster speeds and in cornering. I was able to be more aggressive on the loose dirt berms and off camber slopes. I’ll probably run my psi on both wheels at a lower pressure to see if that enhances the aggressiveness of the mountain king and hopefully I see an improvement of the confidence with the cross kings at a lower pressure. I will update after my ride results. Update as of 07/19/2020, I ran these tires at the lower psi (20 front/25 back) and they responded really good in loose dry dirt, and packed in hard dirt. The tires were good on cornering due to the treads on the edge of the wheel being deeper. I'm running these on a hardtail and found them to handle pretty good. I purchased a set of Trail Kings for my 29er enduro/trail bike and they handled really well on a couple of black diamond trails Lyons reservoir just past Mi-Wuk village, CA. For wet or hero dirt I would suggest the Der Kaiser's because they have meatier treads.

I’ve had several Continental tires on my mountain bike over the years , and this one maintains the tradition of being superior to any other tire I’ve ever used. Stout tough material coupled with rugged tread design gives you miles and miles of trail shredding pleasure. Will definitely continue using these tires !!

Slapped these on a Rocky Mountain Slayer to replace a set of maxxis minions that were worn out. At first I was surprised by the short stature of the knobs but soon realized that the amount of surface area that contacts the ground and the lack of knob roll in highspeed corners makes this tire unreal on tree roots, hard pan, rocks and semi loose dirt and off camber situations. I honestly thought it wouldn’t hold a line because of lack of knob depth but I was completely wrong. Climbing and braking traction are too notch as well. I cannot comment on mud, but I would assume due to the knob spacing, the tires would perform well on clean out. Seemed to have plenty of grip in Loose gravel / unconsolidated soils also, which blew my mind because this tire honestly looks half worn out when you install it. Obviously the tread pattern, siping sharp edges and compound combine to do a bang up job. The price on these is awesome as well. Another review mentioned the clean look of the tires and I’ll say they do look sharp installed. Will definitely buy again.
