I was gifted a pressure washer with the Honda GCV160LAO N5R engine. It was only used a couple times and then sat for a couple years. I put a little Sea Foam in the gas tank along with some new gas, pulled the starter rope, and it started right up. The only problem is that it would only continue to run on full choke. I figured that the carburetor had gotten gummed up from sitting so long. Rather than going through the hassle of re-building the factory carb, I decided to purchase a new aftermarket one. For the price, it seemed like a no-brainer, and I was right. I swapped out the carb and it started in just a couple pulls! I ran it for about four hours with no issues. Great product at a great price!

I looked around at a lot of these $15.00 replacement carbs for my pressure washer. My original carb had a stuck bowl float valve that I took apart, but I couldn't fix (gas dumping out of the air filter). This kit came with an in-line gas filter, extra hose, hose clamps and gaskets which all came in handy. My original set up didn't have a filter, which could have prevented my problem in the first place. The other kits that I saw came with an air filter that wouldn't have fit my Subaru anyway. The only issue with the new carb, as someone else commented, is that the choke lever on the new carb is spring loaded so at "rest" it remains shut. The old carb lever had several friction stops so you could adjust the choke when starting, and it remained in place unless you manually moved it to a closed position. I had success pull starting and holding the choke lever at the same time, but that might not be convenient for most folks. I would suggest splitting the rubber hose in the kit lengthwise and using that on the cable to extend the lever during starting, and removing it when the engine is warm (which usually takes under a minute). So, with the new carb, the engine fired right up and ran smooth and works with the Subaru EA190V - you just have to figure out what to do with the spring loaded choke.

My Troy bilt power washer would not start. Research indicated a clogged or otherwise non functioning carburetor. Ordered a replacement via Amazon, received via prime. Installation is a bit tricky getting all gaskets, springs and control linkage attached. With the help of internet “how to”, got the job done in about 30 minutes. Added gas, pulled the start cord and instant start up. Very pleased with the reasonable cost, relative ease of installation and seamless performance of the new carburetor.

Installed on my 10 yr old Ryobi pressure washer. Had choke spring instead of detents. I had to move the hook on the spring to another location about 30 degrees to reduce the tension. With that the choke lever stayed in the fully choked position when starting. After changing carb and plug I was hoping to get it back to one pull starting. It is much better, but it is still a bit hard to start. Now it starts but just chugs while on choke and dies when I try to open it a bit. I have to do this several times before it finally catches. Then it runs like a top and idles back nicely. Not sure what is causing this. It might be something else.

Even though the carburator pictured and received may look slightly different than the one you are replacing, it still fit and worked great.

On the plus side, it got my Honda lawn mower working. On the negative side, it's missing the little stick that connects the choke, and without that, my lawn mower wouldn't start. I had to improvise by using a short screw and screwing it into the hole where the stick should go. You'll see where it goes by looking at your old carburetor. Overall this kit is a great value, it's just janky that I had to MacGyver it to make it work.
