I gave this product 1 star a day after receiving it but i"d like to update that review after having worn this hearing aid for two weeks now. My original complaint was that it was too loud, even on the lowest volume setting but the problem was not in the hearing aid but in the way I had become used to hearing things faintly. What I've realized is that it takes time to get accustomed to hearing normally again and this process can take several weeks or so. Another piece of advice I can offer is that is pays to spend time trying all the different soft plastic ear plugs that come with the product as the correct one will make a difference in the way you hear and in comfort. I'm sorry I originally left a one star review and I hope I did not dissuade anyone from trying this very fine product. Well worth the money and I highly recommend it.

My hearing is good below 1000Hz, but drops off fairly sharply between 1000-2000Hz. This is typical of old age. (I'm in my 80s.) I don't many problems with normal conversation with men or women. However, in noisy restaurants, I have a very difficult time hearing anyone who is not next to me. I miss some conversation in some TV programs. I decided to try hearing amplifiers to see if they would help with this periodic annoyance. On the basis of Amazon reviews, I chose three: Janijian, Zyon, and Laiwen. See photo. The gray/blue ones are Janijian and Zyon; the tan is Laiwen. The cases and external functions of Janijian and Zyon are nearly identical. (These units are more blue than shown in my photo.) The Laiwen is obviously larger; however, it has the advantage, in my opinion, of having a wheel to adjust the volume; the other two have a rocker switch. All three have a very small wire. Janijian and Zyon also have a transparent wire to remove the amplifier from the ear. This can stick out if you don't remember to tuck it in. If you are going to have a grey/blue case, I do not think that having a very thin wire makes much difference because the amplifier will be quite noticeable. I prefer the tan Laiwen even though it is somewhat larger. I am not particularly sensitive about appearance because I will use it mostly with friends or at home. I got more noisy feedback from Janijian and Zyon than I did from Laiwen. Don't know why. Possibly because the rocker switch volume was more difficult to adjust. All three at low volume added some higher frequency when I watched TV. I did not try any of them in a noisy environment. I would say that they helped a bit, but didn't make a significant difference. Given the modest benefit of all three, and the lower price of the Laiwen and it's easier use, I returned the Janijian and Zyon. I'm keeping the Laiwan to experiment with. At $46, I won't have lost much money if I don't use it or lose it. Perhaps my experience would have been different if an audiologist did the fitting and adjusting. So my ranking may not be accurate for some or most people. Legitimate (and expensive) hearing aids may be a whole different story. I just don't feel that I need to make that investment at this time.

Unlike other hearing amplifiers I have tried this one seems very durable. The speaker wire is heavier and the overall device looks like it could last through daily use. The main problem is it's TOO LOUD! No matter what I do to lower the volume or change the mode the device just amplifies too much. Loud noises and talking just hurts my ear. To the manufacturer, work on better control of the volume. This would be a 5 star product if you did that.

This is garbage ,I wasn't expecting anything great for the price , But the feed-back whistling was intolerable , People in the room can hear it..and you can never really get it the level right. Ive had high and low end , This is a POS. Just spend more . This is junk and you get what you pay for .

after charging it which took about 6 hrs, I tried to place the aid in the ear, it had a screeching sound with require me to immediate take away. I turned it off placed it in the ear and turned it on and I got the same screech. Glad I did not hurt my ear drum.

This hearing aid is not usable. I’m a happy customer of the 201, but this one is so loud it is impossible to wear

This works perfectly. Just as good as my old 4000 dollar Starkey's that died. They are easy to set up and adjust. Now I can her people talk just fine . They stand by their product. The case on my left one cracked and the promptly sent me a new two days later. I wear a left and right hearing aid makes music enjoyable again to. I highly recommend these. Thank you Banglijian.
