KWG 6 inch Round Stainless Steel Outdoor Dryer Vent Covers

I wanted a vent what woud flow a lot of air, looked good, and was very functional and weather resistant. This was it. The round shape and round downward pointing venting was perfect. it has a bug screen too. The standard exterior vents all have a nearly 90 degree vent angle pointing down. I didn't want hot greasy air blowing on my brickwork. This vents out a nearly a 45 degree angle, keeping my brick clean. The round dome keeps the rain and snow out, and the the tube is all stainless steel! Install tips: get a strong bonding liquid sealant, I used PowerGrab loctite crystal clear to bond the unit to the wall. I sealed the 2 mounting holes as I did not want to use them. The vent unit has 3 spring clips that help hold it in place in a sort of 1 way install that allows the PowerGrab to set and hold. My range hood can reach 1000CFM and I believe this vent allows such a large volumn of air to move freely. Tweak: I bent the vent fins 45 degrees, They seems too closed for my likely and helped even out the airflow away from the brickwork and allow more air to flow. Very happy with my purchase, I returned a square 90 degree vent with built in damper and purchased this unit and installed an inline damper as this unit does not have one.

This is a quality vent. I like that it is stainless steel, don't need to paint and always looks good. Not a bad price for what it is.

These are great replacement covers for a dryer or exhaust fan vent (I replaced one of each). I went to clean out our dryer vent and, when I got up there (about 20 feet up), the 15 year old plastic vent cover disintegrated when I touched it. Literally just came apart in pieces. So the dryer vent cleaning also became a replace the dryer vent cover task. I visited Home Depot, Lowes and our local Ace and couldn't find a vent cover that wasn't made of the same flimsy plastic. I could find plenty of metal ones that came with a six to eight inch tube section. However, these are intended to replace the cover and the tube up to where it connects to the dryer vent hose. This is, I guess, is the 'right' way to do it apparently. But in my situation I would have to cut through the kitchen ceiling or come down through the wood floors to reach that connection point. These were the perfect solution. They fit right inside the existing tube and had little retainers on the sides that provide for a pretty snug fit. The vent came with four screws to secure it in place and I purchased some silicone to seal around the edges. Overall the quality seems really solid and I would definitely recommend purchasing these if you only want/need to replace a vent cover.

I haven't installed this yet but want to counter another review claiming this unit is thinner than aluminum foil. That review is simply wrong. The vent's thickness is appropriate for the task, light but plenty sturdy enough to do the job. What is not completely obvious from the vent description is that a separate backdraft insert should be installed; unlike most vents, this unit has fixed slats (and bug screen), so it will not prevent drafts. I'm using it for a range hood exhaust; if problems arise due to this unit I will update. For now it seems to be a decent purchase.

Looks unique, and is very functional with the bug screen and shutters. I bent them open just a little, to better exhaust cooking smoke and steam, and added some adhesive weather stripping (not included with this product) on the bottom half-moon so it would fit my siding.

I bought this to replace a four inch AC vent. My portable AC unit was designed for a five inch vent but I was using a four inch vent that I already had. the AC wasn't working well at all. Moving to this five inch vent made a HUGE difference. This unit is very lightweight but is also very sturdy. I have it mounted at shoulder height (bad idea) and have ran into it several times with my (surprise!) shoulder. No damage at all. In addition, it's a nice looking unit! I would buy it again.

It's just a vent but the stainless steel construction and pleasing shape make it seem more than that. So it looks great and perhaps like it serves some other important function than exhaust. The gauge of the material and spherical shape make for a reasonably strong structure. There is also a gasket sealing it against the wall from which it protrudes and a special drip piece than can be added if desired.

Perfect product Easy to install and so much better looking then the old style plastic vent. insect mesh included along with stainless steel fixings.

I used this to vent our microwave to the outside of our house. I looks good and was easy to install. The only thing its missing is a backdraft damper to prevent cold winter air from coming back into the house. I purchased a separate damper that I installed just inside this hood. I am very happy with the purchase.
