Eight years old and still like new -- until a windstorm
I just ordered another of these. The first one lasted 8 years and was still totally strong and un-faded (dark green, used only in the summer in Colorado). Great umbrella! Especially for the price. But we must have had some big wind last night because I found the umbrella still attached to it's 40# weight (!) on the ground beside my 2nd floor deck this morning. The walls of the deck were perfectly fine. I can't imagine how that happened. But I'm buying the exact same umbrella again. (It broke at the tilt spot as the wind blew the open umbrella around the heavy base.)

Good umbrella
I only just put it up but it seems well made, easy to assemble (comes in two pieces), also pretty light for its size. Tilt and crank work well.

Worth It
Stability and quality are good for only a $50, after I put up the first one I bought another, I recommend white/beige to prevent fading.

Good quality for the price
I have purchased three of these. The first is over a year old and I recently purchased 2 more. SETUP: They can be assembled in seconds. Just insert one pipe into the other until the locking pin clicks. USE: They are very easy to raise, lower, tilt, and tie up. There is a crank that opens and closes the umbrella. It is connected to a small rope that runs up through the pole to a pully that then pulls the umbrella mechanism up or down. I'm sure there is a limited lifespan on that cord, but after a year, mine looks fine. You can tilt the umbrella when it is open by push a button. It has 3 angles that it can lock in at. Some other umbrellas can hit any angle you want, but I never need that precise of an angle. The umbrella has ties so that when closed, you can tie it shut to avoid wind blowing up into it. Finally, the umbrellas has the double umbrellas on top to allow wind to blow out when you get a stronger gust. It works pretty well. My 35lb base works for most wind. I haven't tried it in strong winds, but you would need at least 50lb base to even attempt. QUALITY: It's not built like a $300+ umbrella, but it looks nice, holds it's color after a year in the sun, and seems like it will last for 3-5 years which is pretty standard for even expensive umbrellas. at 1/6 the price, these are a much better option.

Great Value!
For the money, this umbrella can't be beat. For our purposes, it will work great. If there is one "problem" I can anticipate, it would be wind currents at times on our small patio can be strong and varied enough to pick an unfurled patio umbrella right out of holder. The fabric on this umbrella is such that it does not allow for any pass-through of a breeze. Our "solution" for this - now that we have this new patio umbrella with functioning crank - is to leave it furled when not in use. ~Year of Use UPDATE: Well, we've had the wind pull this umbrella out of the stand several times... forgetting to furl it when not in use. It's broken a long rib, and when it falls, the ribs have a tendency to punch through the pockets, or at least tear the sewing apart. I was able to fix the broken rib by splicing it together with aluminum tubing, and the pockets can be sewn back together. I stick to my original reply... take precautions against the wind.

Iโm ready for summer!
I took it out of the box, the umbrella cover was already on, so I opened it, put it in the umbrella stand and I was done! ๐๐ผ. It looks good and made my job easier. You gotta love that ๐๐ป

Quality has gone down
This is our third time to order these poolside umbrellas. In the past, the quality has been good. Really disappointed with this pair. Seams are unfinished looking and one of the umbrellas is missing the ties. Hope they make at least one summer.

Considering the modest cost, this attractive umbrella is well made. I'll report back after a year.

Cheeply made .
Not what I expected. I feel a strong wind will get this umbrella. Not solid . I give it one star.
