5+ years and still no holes!
5+ years and still no holes in full cushion hiking socks...and I use these all of the time, not just hiking. I bought 3 6-packs.

Best "Crazy Sock Money" I Ever Spent
When I first looked at these socks I wondered who would be crazy enough to pay $20+ for a pair of socks. Then I noticed the plethora of 5 star reviews. There were a staggering number of them. So I began reading the reviews and everyone couldn't sing the praises of Darn Tough socks enough. So I bought a pair. Now I too know what a pleasure it is to wear really good socks. Wish I'd known this 30 years ago. I live in a mountainous terrain and wear Solomon hiking boots daily. These socks get a workout and they are comfortable, durable and cool (only worn them in the summer so far). There is noticeable cushioning in the heel and toe areas as well as a nice arch support band. The lifetime guarantee is nice but since I'm in my mind 60's it wasn't the strongest selling point, but it's nice to know that if there should ever be a problem they'll take care of it. I also own a pair of "Smart Wool" socks and they are fine socks, but overall I find myself reaching for my Darn Touch's more and more often. I'll be getting a couple more pair real soon. One more thing I think is worth mentioning is I suffer from neuropathy as a result of diabetes so finding socks I can wear for extended periods of time has been a constant challenge over the years. I find I can wear these socks all day long and my feet are none the worse for it. In fact they feel somewhat less irritated during the night allowing me to sleep more comfortably.

Best I've owned.
These are the best work socks I've ever owned. They strike that perfect balance of cushion and still being thin enough to move your toes. They are not too hot either. Durability seems to great as well, I have my clothes washed for me at work every night. I have worn and had washed the same pair every day for 9 weeks or so straight now and they are just as good as the day I got them. I bought two pairs but have never felt the need to rotate them. If I ever need to, I will be buying them again.

Good socks. No movement inside hiking boots
Nice comfort, perfect thickness, sock moves with your foot (no roll in the sock). Going to work great for hiking. A little bit too snug at the very top of foot but I figure it will give a bit once I break them in.
