Is this a 70 inch kite? It says 48 but i cant tell if the measure is for tall or width.

It's 70 inches wide from wing tip to wing tip. 48 inches front to back

will this lift a 55 pound child

I don't think so. I couldn't even get mine to fly. I don't recommend this kite.
