WWF: Invasion [2001]

WWF Invasion 2001 is an average PPV, presented by the World Wrestling Federation, but the event itself, could have been a bit better, match wise.I am not going to diss this PPV as these were the days, when wrestling was very eye catching back in the day when we had the likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho etc.WWF Invasion had a great main event where five WWF superstars went up against a mixture of 5 WCW/ECW superstars, in a 10 man Inaugral Brawl tag team match. The match itself was very entertaining with Stone Cold once again backstabbing the WWF, but this match was very good and entertaining.

Invasion is a classic wwf ppv.ECW/WCW vs WWF the main event is a ten man tag,also jeff hardy vs rob van dam,one of the best matches on the ppv plus much more excitment and adventure.This ppv will have you on the edge of your seat.

If you're a fan of professional Wrestling this is obviously what you've been waiting for! WCW/ECW vs WWF, it's full of excitement and some really good matches (RVD vs Jeff Hardy). If you want a decetnt WWF Video get this one, you won't be disapointed.

this ppv was crap 5 wwf best vs 5 wcw best wherewas sting billgoldberg ric flair .the cruiserwheight title it was ok but where is rey jnr the juice phycosis vampiro the majority of nthe wcw wrestlers were rubbish ecw what a joke the only good wrestler they had was rvd

I would like to see tna invade the wwe , because this when wwe was at its best when wcw and ecw invaded it.

finally wrestling fans get what they really want. Rvd,Mike awesome,Booker T and other are at last on wwf television.Thjis ppv is good foor its match content but the reason most peoplw would buy this is for the amazing rvd vs jeff hardy hardcore title match. other matches areedge and christian against lance storm and mike awesome,the bra and panties tag match,big show, albert and billy gun against staisack, hugh morrus and some1 i cant remember.(this match was a disapointment) and The main event of 5 wwf stars against 5 alliance stars. there are a few more matches but not really ones worth mentioning.it was a good ppv as most wwf ppv's recently have been disapointing.worth a look.

An exciting ppv, for the novelty value if nothing else. A couple of cracking matches (especially RVD v Jeff Hardy) and alot of new(ish) faces made for an event that stood out from the rest of the forgotten-after-a-month ppvs and the ending was pretty surprising. The arrival of Booker T and DDP boded well but after this PPV it all went downhill with most of the Alliance consisting of turncoat WWF stars. The one real disappointment was that although I give this 4, it could have been the best PPv ever. Within a few months HHH and Benoit were back, and Hogan, the NWO, Steiner, Flair, Goldberg and Mysterio had all reemerged. How amazing would Invasion been with them added to the card....

Invasion is one of the best ppv's of 2001. It is not as good as Wrestlemania X7 which was awesome, but it is still a good watch. The whole invasion thing started when Shane McMahon bought WCW from under his fathers nose. After their incredible street fight at Wreslemania X7, the second of Vince's ungrateful children, Stephanie bought ECW. They combined forces, and fought to drive the WWF out of business. It led to Invasion.The first match of the historic night was Edge and Christian vs Lance Storm and Mike Awesome. It was a good solid opening to the ppv, and a good ending. Next, was the referees match. This was a laugh, but nothing more. In fact the only good bit is Mick Foley as the special guest referee. APA vs Paulumbo and O'Hare was next, followed by a high flying match up of X-pac vs Billy Kidman. The next two were short but still good. Regal vs Raven and Tajiri vs Tazz. After that, is in my opinion one of the best matches of 2001. The only title on the line that night, the WWF hardcore title. RVD of ECW vs Jeff Hardy of WWF. What an awesome match, ladders and chairs, and high flying moves from start to finish. After that, many peoples favourite match of the night, the tag team bra and panties match. A good contest, between 4 HOT women! Stacy Keibler and Torrie Wilson of WCW vs Trish Stratus and Lita of WWF. JR delivers a great line - "Let me just say thongs are legal" - and Mick Foley again features as special referee, although needless to say this match needs little officiting. A good match for the male fans of the WWF. Last but definatly not least the 5 on 5 match. This is one fall to a finish, not elimination like at Survivor Series. Team WWF - Angle, Taker, Kane, Jericho and of course Austin vs Team WCW/ECW - Dudley Boyz, DDP, Rhyno, and Booker T. A good, long match which turns into an all out brawl. Revenge, Hatred and Personal issues are released between both sides - with an ending you won't believe - although it becomes painfully predictable when you think about it. This is a must have for any wrestling fan, a great night all told. 4*/5
