Awesome for overpronation
I over pronate pretty significantly and I needed comfy shoes for training (at home exercise) and out side walking- most shoes I researched looked like shoes made for my grandma. Or were like 10 pounds. Not these! I love them! They were a bit tight at first but I adjusted the laces and have been wearing them to do my daily workouts and walks and I feel amazing no more pain! And the colors are the best! No complaints here I'm so happy I bought them. I got a 9 usually I'm an 8 ½ -9 but the 9 fits great with good cushiony socks.

Worth every penny and great for over-pronators!
I over-pronate and need the most stability and correction I can get, so I decided to try the Mizuno brand for the very first time. The Paradox are touted as the most stable within the Mizuno line and one step higher than the Wave Inspire I bought at the same time.In a nutshell:Stability: The stability is above average and I think will do quite well to correct my pronation. Even though it has been about a year since I wore my previous brand of stability enhancing shoes, my feet are not sore and I have been happy with how they are fitting and holding up so far.Fit/Weight: Paradox are much lighter than my previous Asics, which is what I was looking for. Over-pronation correcting shoes are often heavy so these are nice on that front. The fit is neither too small or too roomy...they fit exactly to size. I would increase a 1/2-1 whole size larger if I needed to put my orthotics into them, though.Comfort: I think support is the most important, but they are comfortable, as well. I'm surprised my feet are not hurting terribly while breaking them in, but so far, so good. I haven't taken a run in them yet though, so I may add on to this review once I accomplish that one.Look: The disappointing thing with these shoes is probably the lack of colors to choose from, but they are quality shoes and this particular pair were incredibly affordable. I purchased the Wave Inspire at the same time so I could try them both out, and the colors were MUCH better, but the cost of the Wave Inspires was almost three times more than this sale price. All in all, I am extremely happy with my purchase!

HUGE Disaapointment !!!
When I turned 40 I thought I would never run again. I could not find a shoe that felt right, that had the stability and the flexibility I needed and that would protect my knees and support my arches - the way I needed at this age. I searched all the shops in NYC and all the expensive brands but in vain - tried Saucony, Brooks, Asics, numerous other brands. And then I found Mizuno Nirvana. It was sheer heaven. For seven years that is all I bought [sometimes 2-3 pairs at a time just to be safe], thanked God each day and continued running. Despite my age, my running was better, more comfortable and painless than in my 20s. The shoes were too good to be true - everything felt perfect, the arch support in particular was fantastic. I wore them everywhere I could - even snuck them on a work, hoping that Mizuno would one day make them in black so I could wear them more openly at the office. Then last year I found out these shoes had been discontinued in favor of a newer model. I was told the newer model - the replacement, the Paradox - would be more stable. It is not. It is terrible. The arch support is horrible. It feels like a cheap shoe. No arch support, poor flexibility, too light to be stable. And what's with the crazy colors. I bet the people who could benefit most from a stable shoe are NOT teenagers. The colors are so adolescent. At least the old Nirvana colors were dignified and I didn't feel like a giddy teenager of the twerk generation. I am so disappointed. I am not sure why the wonderful old Nirvana was discontinued. If Mizuno wanted to add a crazy colored shoe like the Paradox to appear to be hip just ADD it do not REPLACE the original. If it ain't broke don't fix it! I don't know if I will ever find a shoe like the old Nirvana. Even my busted old Nirvanas [ about two years old ] have MUCH better arch support than the Paradox. The Paradox is horrible compared to the Nirvana. Mizuno really ought to bring back the old Nirvanas. I have now lost faith in a company I believed to be intelligent and not a cheap sell out like other sneaker companies. Goodbye Mizuno - you have lost a fantastic an loyal customer. I can't believe someone at your company was dumb enough to discontinue a fabulous shoe.

Great shoe
These were recommended on the Mizuno website using their 'Find your Perfect Shoe' application. I over pronate so have been wearing the Wave Inspire 9 which were perfect. I wasn;t sure about these at first as they felt a much firmer fit. ,But after wearing them a few times they have settled in. nicely. Think they may become my new favorite runners.

Don't go 2 sizes smaller to fit a Woman's foot.
Usually I can size down by 2 sizes to have a Man's size 7 fit my Woman's size 9 feet. That was not the case for these shoes. They are nice, but I had to return them because they were too small.

Not for narrow heels anymore, and what is with the metallic?!
Just returned these. I wear stability mizunos because they give stability, don't feel like a cushion, and they usually fit snuggly around my my ankle and Achilles' tendon. Not so with these. My foot slips up and down nonstop. Very disappointing compared to my other mizunos (nirvana, inspire). I returned these due to this issue. Also, the pink on the bottom of these is a very sparkly metallic. I thought I bought an adult shoe?! The aesthetics don't mean that much to me when it comes to a good shoe, but sparkly pink?!

Mizuno - The Best Brand for Running Shoes
The Paradox were my 1st pair of Mizuno's and I've loved them so much, I've bought these (in the different colour). I think I prefer the Wave Prophecy a little better for the tight fit (supportive) width wise when running, however these are so comfy and the pair I currently wear have held up well.Great for gym too, although the ankle is probably a little too supportive for some floor work.

Great Shoes, But the Tread Wears Fast
I used to have a lot of knee pain when running, but these shoes have pretty much eliminated that pain. Please be aware that the treads wear extremely fast and you will not get 300 miles in these shoes, but something much less. When I weigh knee pain against the fast wearing tread, I think they are a good value.
