Basically covers so that the scratch doesn’t draw your eye to it. Make sure to scrape the wax that goes round the scratch. Use something that will not mark your floor.

Great repair stick for chip in corner of cupboard door
I knocked the corner of my painted gloss kitchen cupboard with a cup and a chunk of lacquer fell off at the corner. Id looked everywhere for something to take the bad look of it as it’s cashmere and very hard to match. I found this stick and it’s perfect. I heated a knife and cut a little off. Pushed in to chip and smoothed with the warm knife.Perfect. No one would even notice the repair. Delivery arrived within a couple of days so I was delighted

Waste of time
I have a 8cm scratch in my oak coffee table and had great hopes for this product. I followed the instructions and tried a few times to get it right but it didn't hide the scratch, in fact it made it more prominent. Not impressed. It may work better on darker wood with a darker crayon but not on oak.
