The official novelization of the summer blockbuster Godzilla: King of the Monsters , the latest film in the MonsterVerseTM franchise, starring Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, with Ken Watanabe and Ziyi Zhang. Godzilla: King of the Monsters follows the heroic efforts of the cryptozoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and its ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species--thought to be mere myths--rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance. Review: Great - Another great product for my son's collection. Review: Included Extra Scenes, a Thrilling Adventure - This book was one of the rate treasure fans love, a novel that tells the story of the film and expands upon it bringing new scenes and a better understanding of what happened. It fills in the gaps and answers many question poses by the film. If you are a Toho film fan and have seen Godzilla, King of the Monsters, the film is a love letter to those of us who grew up with the Godzilla films. Special touches and elements are included here that harken back to those films. The events surrounding the ORCA make more sense in the book, since the extras were cut from the film. I hope the film will have a directors cut when released on Blu -ray. A gripping, thrilling story that was enhanced by the audiobook. A must for Godzilla fans.

Good read - excellent source material.
The book is very faithful to the film so you can replay the scenes in your mind's eye quite easily. The book also does what good novelizations are supposed to do - fill in the gaps by covering details that cameras can't. Perhaps the best of these are the glimpses into the thoughts of the characters and giving a look into past events that led up to that point of the story.

Some extra stuff in this movie novelization
If you are a fan of Godzilla and more specifically 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' along with the 'Monsterverse' then you will probably enjoy reading this novelization. If you've seen the movie, then you will obviously know most of the story. Anybody who has seen the movie will know that the editing wasn't the best. It could be quite confusing as to who was where at any given moment. I know that I wasn't always sure if the characters were in the helicopter, submarine, Argo or a base somewhere. This book will help you to understand a bit better some of the more confusing moments. Obviously any dialogue you may have missed will be right here for you to read. Additionally there are some scenes in the book that weren't in the movie. I'm not sure if this was because these scenes were deleted or if they were even filmed. It's probable that the author had a copy of the script. Maybe he saw an early version of the movie. Perhaps these scenes will show up in an extended edition of the movie. I hope so because some of them involved other monsters. Let me be clear here. This is not a different version of the same story. It's the same story just with a few scenes added in. One more thing... if you didn't get the names of the other monsters, this book will give you their names and a better description of each monster.

Beat by Beat of the Film
I wouldn't say it is a book written to such a degree of finesse as The Godfather or LOTR, but if you want a book that can play the movie in your head, and fill you in on scenes that were left out of the movie then this'll do it for you! Die hard Godzilla fans, and fans of the film will love this book. At least I did. It's an easy read, and a nice play by play on the film with some inner monologues to help maybe flesh out the characters and their motivations. I find having read the book gives me a greater appreciation of the characters when I see them on film. As to whether I should need a book to fill in those holes, I will not comment, but regardless I loved the book. Read it in under a week.

Godzilla!
So due to an unfortunate set of circumstances I will not be abel to see this film in theaters for for a few weeks at least, so getting to read this novelization was wonderful. It was a very well done read and told a great, action packed story with much more Godzilla then the 2014 film. A worthy sequel and a great read for any Godzilla fan. I finished it in about five hours after downloading it.

Great read for godzilla fans
There is more important context of lore in the novel that if you are a fan of the movie need. There are Dr Chen notes at the beginning of the chapters that provide lore and legends relating to the titans. Lovely read must have
