No it doesn't mold at all. Very easy to clean!

Does the steamer automatically shut off?

Kindly be advised that the steamer will automatically shut off when the set cooking time is reached.

Anyone else have issues with tank mold or discoloration ?

So far I have not... I use it about twice a week. I I don't fill the tank all the way and I use distilled water only. I also empty and dry it with a towel as soon as I'm done using it. I let it sit without the top overnight to make sure all the moisture is gone.

What is that extra plastic round circle it comes with? Where do i put it?

The plastic round circle is a sealing ring. It is a spare part, which is installed under the blade. It can be used to replace the original sealing ring if it is lost or damaged accidentally.
