Best cookbook series!
I love this Cooking from Above series so much! The recipes are fairly simple to follow if you have any kitchen skills, though for beginning cooks, the recipes may be a bit advanced. The cookbooks have beautiful pictures of all of the ingredients used for each recipe plus a 'road-map' of how how the recipe should flow. My only complaint about the cookbooks is that the spine of the books is VERY low quality and several of my Cooking From Above books are falling apart because the glue which holds the pages in is not good; I baby all my books and these are still falling apart.I have nearly ALL of these books and will leave the same review for them all!

I checked this book out at the library. I started using it so much I was getting it dirty so I figured I needed to buy my own copy. The directions are very easy to follow and many of the recipes only have four or five steps. Even for a mediocre cook like me, the dishes turned out delicious.

Veggies, not vegetarian
This is by far my favorite of the "My Cooking Class" books. Each page is beautiful and the recipes are normal enough. Just a warning, there is a lot of meat in the recipes.

Easy and Yummy
I like this because it has every item pictured and the recipes are easy and really good. Made 4 dishes to take to afriends, and all were a hit.

Even for vegetables "haters"!
My husband and I are not huge vegetables fans but I try to cook healthier and to introduce some of them to our meals.First of all this book is full of great pictures of the ingredients, final product and steps. The recipes do not call for weird or too many ingredients and do not seem complicated. I haven't tried recipes yet but I will this week. You obviously have recipes with potatoes with French and easy recipes: croquettes, gratin dauphinois (potatoe gratin with cream). You have fruits like vegetables recipes with tomatoes, eggplant etc like gazpacho, ratatouille (I'm from Nice, France where this is originated and it's a good recipe but hey forgot the thyme and herbes de provence...), eggplant parmigiana, guacamole, butternut squash soup...There is a cabbage section rather short but that's great cause we don't like it! But the pork pot stickers look good. There is also asparagus/fennel/artichokes recipes but just a few. The fennel and citrus salad looks really crunchy and refreshing. To be tried soon!A mushroom chapter with a mushroom soup, a wild mushroom risotto etc looks promising. The onion chapter is French inspired with the onion soup and the caramelized onion tart that I will try tonight. An other chapter is on leafy greens with salads, arugula and spinach. And finally a section is dedicated on peas and beans. There is an extra section on ...desserts! A good way to eat vegetables without noticing, with a beet brownie, chocolate zucchini cake and smoothies/juicesI would highly recommend this book. I also have the same kind of book for steam and I will get the pasta one soon. The chocolate book and the oriental book do not seem as appealing though but it's just my taste.

I have mostly read the recipes and am impressed by the colorful photos and the pictures of the steps taken to produce the finished product. I look forward to making these recipes over the winter. I also have the Pasta one and the recipes I have made are delicious.
