SmartLab Mini Pack Secret Formula Lab Kit

The parts were very thin plastic and the result of mixing the secret formula was less than exciting. Didn't bubble over like the picture, didn't even fill the canister it was mixed in.

Only a box of test tubs and recipes you can find on the internet. Total waste of money. You have to go to the store and buy things to mix in the test tubs.

I bought this to use with my 4 year old, although the packaging says ages 7+. Even at her age, she was bored with it. The experiments are nothing like the box shows- much less dramatic. I could have done all of these with ingredients and cups we had in the house and saved the money on the kit, because the it was a bunch of junk! The beaker was cracked top to bottom on two sides, the dropper had a hole in it so wouldn't draw up and hold liquid, the stand wouldn't stay together, the round-bottom flasks barely fit on the stand, and the glow-in-the-dark powder did nothing. I was very disappointed in this kit, and highly doubt many 7 year olds would enjoy this kit, which has 15 minute maximum entertainment value.

I'm not sure about the other reviews. My 6 yr old daughter and I had a load of fun doing these, no its not a lot to the box and does require staples from you own pantry (vinegar, corn syrup, backing soda) but these experiments were fun and DID work. I do wish there was more to the box bc what you are given doesn't allow for you to do multiple times so if you wanted you would have to reorder some of the other ingredients. So no it doesn't offer a lot of materials but it gives you 6 really fun experiments.

I bought this product to my son thinking that it would be very exciting to him, as he likes chemistry. But after making the experiment both of us felt very disappointed with the results, I mean, there were no results, nothing happened! It was really very frustrating! The box shows illustrations with kids having fun with the experiments as they would work pretty well. There was nothing inside to show that same excitement.
