AWD Medical Silicone Scar Tape for Surgical Scars, 1.6in x 60in Roll

I am really impressed with this stuff. I haven’t used it on surgical scars like other users, but on injury scars. I have a child who is very active and tends to be face first into everything. Unfortunately, her skin scars very easily/brightly and these injuries usually happen in the summer when the sun is going to make them even worse. I truly think this tape made a significant difference in helping her scars fade faster than last summer’s! It has great adhesion, even with swimming and wasn’t irritating at all. It’s a nice thickness that probably helped block some of those UV rays as well (though I highly recommend a good mineral sunscreen and/or clothing for that). We are going to be sure to have this stuff in our first aid kit all the time.

I used this tape on my surgery scars for 6 months and it REALLY WORKS! My surgeon was surprised and pleased at how well my scars healed and encouraged me to keep on using it, even after a year had passed. I cut a strip in half to apply to my scars and found that worked to keep me comfortable throughout the week, as I changed it weekly. It's water proof and easy to use, especially for graceless people like me. Plese try it!

I’ve been using a scar sheet gels for years. They seemed to be working really well the first couple of years however, this last batch they don’t seem to be sticking to my skin as well, so I’m not sure if the last two boxes that I’ve been sent are not as good quality as I have been receiving Over the last few years or what’s going on. I will say that normally I am very happy with this product but I’m not sure what’s going on. I may have to look for another solution. I do have a scar that is from a surgery that was healing very slowly and would not work with any other products this one seem to work the doctor even did the steroid injections to get it to go down and this tape seems to be the only thing that have been working pretty consistently. However, again the last two boxes they sent me are not sticking as well as they normally do so I’ll try one more order. If not, then I’ll have to try to find something else. I have tried other silicone tapes and they have not worked as well as this one so I’m hoping maybe I just got a bad couple of boxes so we’ll see. I’ll keep you updated it. I do like the color really matches my skin really well you can shower with this. I normally can wear it for about a week before I have to replace the gel tape. And even if water does get in there, you can just like smooth it down and the water will come out after your shower. I’ve never had any skin irritation so I recommend this product if you have some scarring that you wanna work on, but you have to be patient because it does take time to use this product to see any real results. My scar has gone down in thickness but again I have been using this for about 2-3 years at this point, but it is a older scar. I’ve had the scar for about 12/13 years so those scars that you’ve had that long typically take longer to heal so for this product I gave it a 8/10 just because I’ve had two bed boxes that haven’t stuck on my skin that well from the last two deliveries.

This tape works really well and stay put even in areas with more curvature. It is much smaller than I expected but does the job well. My scar is seeing visible improvement after about a month of consistent use.

Pros: Reusable, large quantity for the price, did seem to help with flattening scar. Cons: 1) They’re much thinner than ScarAway silicone sheets. My scars didn’t feel as well-supported with these in the first few weeks after surgery when I was standing or sitting up. 2) I developed an allergy to AWD Silicone Scar Sheets, causing intense itching and redness only where I used them. It’s specific to this product, since I can still use ScarAway on the same scar without a problem. Washing the strips multiple times hasn’t removed the allergen. I know this is a “me problem,” but before I experienced this, I didn’t know it was possible, so I’m putting this here as a heads-up to other allergy-prone people. It does not affect my rating.

Yup, silicone tape actually does reduce scarring. Having recently tried several versions of this product, this particular silicone tape works the best of the bunch -- and it is the most cost effective. Begin treatment once fully healed (typically about 7-14 days). Just cut the tape a bit longer and wider than the scar. Apply to clean and dry skin. It works best on recent scars. However, to my pleasant surprise, this silicone tape is effective in significantly reducing old scars as well (individual results will vary). Individual skin sensitivity to silicone also varies. Most folks tolerate silicone tape without issue. It is recommended to apply for 4 hours for the first few days and gradually increase contact time to 12-16 hours per day. I had no reaction to lengthy and continuous daily exposure -- other than a visible and welcome reduction in scarring. I have been using this product daily for the past 12 days and am very pleased with the results on several small to medium new and even old scars. The only qualm I have with this product is with the advertised claims about reusability. In my experience, it is not practical to reuse this tape as it does not adhere near as well when reapplied. Despite meticulous cleaning, if previously used, the tape rarely adheres properly. Also, slightly trimming off the square corners of the tape patch will reduce the likelihood of it lifting during normal daily activities. On the whole, this silicone tape works quite well in reducing visible scarring. It is easy to apply, remains on the skin reasonably well, and if properly and consistently applied, the results will put a smile on the face of most folks. It certainly did mine.

I've been using this scar tape for a few weeks, and I'm really happy with it. It's soft, comfortable to wear, and stays in place without irritating my skin. I like that I can cut it to the size I need, so there's very little waste. It also holds up well for multiple uses, and I appreciate that it removes easily without being painful. Overall, it's easy to use and feels like a good quality product.

What an amazing product! I had not heard of silicone scar tape. Used it and it softened my surgical scars. Would recommend this for anyone. Apparently good for keloid formers.

Great product, works at reducing scar and stays in place

I had facial surgery for lesion removals and was left with very significant scars several inches on each cheek. I've had to have many of these surgeries for years so I've gone through a lot of different silicon tape to reduce their appearance. This is by far the best. The reason being it's slightly thinner and more flexible than the others so it just sticks better, in addition the skin tone is a very natural match. I rarely bother reviewing anything here but this was well worth it and I ordered it all the way from Australia. A+ thanks for giving me back some dignity.

it healed my insect bite scar within a few days! Really amazing product! Don’t try to use this for wrinkles taping will not work!
