I love this lock! It works great, very sturdy and strong. Locks easily, it is long enough to wrap around any pole to lock up bike. Fairly heavy so not too easy to use or travel with. But that’s the point, it is strong and sturdy! Keeps bike safe

Recently bought a new eBike and wanted a lock to secure it. Found this—the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit Chain Disc Lock. Strong in the Force, this one is. Best news is that I still have my ebike and I'm in an area where they get stolen often. So, the lock works! But it is a project to carry and use it. It's not particularly long so you need to be very close to whatever you're locking to, and the chain links are so big that they will not fit through most spokes, and so heavy that you need to take care not to lock to a part of your bike that might be damaged by supporting the lock's weight. For me, it's all worth it, but it is honestly not an easy lock to operate.

Omay so lets talk about these hain locks. I watched a few videos on Utube. They are not Grinder proof but are resistant to grinders. Definitely bolt cutter proof. They are substantial. Like 10lbs. Make sure you go thru the rear rim AND frame before attaching it to a stationary object. Also an alarming disc rotor lock doesnt hurt either on the front brake rotor. This needs to be in a rack bag for storage it is to heavy for a saddle bag.

I love the concept of this chain, but, for my purposes, it is overkill. I had to return it because it was too heavy and unmanageable. In a high-crime neighborhood, I'm sure it's a terrific deterrent.

Very sturdy chain. I lock my motorcycle to a Kryptonite Stronghold Ground Anchor and it has been safe in my apartment parking lot for the past few months. The chain is just long enough to loop it through parts on my bike. The cloth cover is nice, but a little scratchy, so be careful when pulling the chain through any expensive painted bodywork. Have personally heard a police officer say "no one is cutting through that chain" when looking at it. The U-lock is well built, and I appreciate the sliding plastic cover that keeps dirt out of the lock mechanism. I have had to add a little oil and graphite powder to the bottom of the U-piece due to some rust and dirt buildup, but nothing major. The included keys are nice, and one of them has a little blue flashlight built in to it. Note, this is a very heavy chain, so probably not something you'll want to lug around in a backpack.

I had this lock for a few months (less than a year), and it worked great. It's probably overkill for Dallas, TX but I had an expensive eBike so wanted sufficient insurance included to cover the cost of the bike (which meant going up to this level of lock). What I didn't anticipate is that after a little bit of rain, the lock started jamming up. I tried cleaning it out, but it's still very sticky -- which means I can't really use it (because I might get completely stuck where I can't get it off). So I reached out to Kryptonite... I submitted a ticket... silence. It's been over 2 weeks, and still haven't gotten any response. Of course they have no phone number listed to actually address this, so it's literally just sit and wait... hope my bike isn't stolen in the mean time.

La cadena es súper tosca, ya que tiene eslabones muy gruesos, la imagen no le hace justicia al grosor que tiene el producto real. Las claras ventajas que tiene es que como es tan gruesa, nadie podría cortarla con una cizalla, la única forma para poder cortar esta cadena es con un disco de corte o un esmeril. El candado es pequeño pero muy fuerte, su ventaja es que tiene doble cierre, es decir, si cortan un lado, el otro seguirá firme en su lugar, tendrían que cortar ambos para poder quitarlo, y de todas formas tampoco puede ser cortado con cizalla. La única y gran desventaja a mi parecer, es que es muy pesada, así que considera que siempre deberás llevarla en tu mochila, porque enredarla al cuadro de tu bicicleta como cualquier cable "chafa", sólo hará que tus movimientos se entorpezcan mucho, primero por su peso y segundo por su grosor. Igual, es una excelente opción para proteger tu amada bici.

The chain is fine but the lock itself is broken after a few months, the key goes in and doesn't turn, used lots of wd-40 thinking might help but didn't work, I wouldn't buy this product again.

Gran candado que brinda una protección enorme para tu vehículo (bicicleta en mi caso). Su peso es enorme, pues cadena y cerradura rondan los 5 Kg en una bicicleta que apenas llega a los 9. Sin embargo es muy recomendable a causa de la seguridad tanto de la cadena (en especial sus soldaduras) como de la cerradura. Trae tres llaves de las que desconozco si se pueden hacer copias o no, pero es una de las principales ventajas respecto a los candados estándar que traen dos y no pueden fotocopiarse en la cerrajería media española. El entornos desiguales como los suelos empedrados destaca el peculiar y escandaloso sonido que da: uno parece un reo medievalista. En ocasiones la cerradura sí que me ha parecido un tanto conflictiva, pero nada mayor. Generalmente es un candado que por su grosor no vas a llevar envuelto en la tija del sillín.
