Love these books
Really pleased with these books. We homeschool and these are great supplements for our LA studies. I like how they are broken into units. I like to tear the pages out and give the children a packet at a time . I have used 4th, 5th and 6th grade and I am happy with all of them !

Not clear enough
This is my second in this series, and I’m afraid as the concepts become more complex this series really starts missing the mark. There are concepts that are introduced without any explanation or definition (Identify the Linking Verb exercise doesn’t define Linking Verbs!) and their explanation of verb phrases way oversimplifies the idea and thus misleads the students. Toward the end of the fifth grade guide I found myself frequently pulling out older grammar texts to help explain the concepts, and in my second week with the sixth grade guide I’m doing it again. I think they tried too hard to make the exercises easy for everyone by watering down the ideas, but in grammar, details and clarity in explanations are essential. I would only recommend this series if you are a pretty strong grammarian yourself and are able to recognize its weaknesses and supplement as necessary.

Perfect layout
Absolutely loved this book for my 6th grader! It’s well laid out, interactive and has just enough repetition to really help my guy learn! I’d definitely recommend this book!
