Medifacx ProRx Disc Pill Cutter with 1 Pill Catch Cup & Additional Green Disc (Green)

I have only had this 24 hours so have no knowledge of how long it will last and/or keep working well. That said, I am not really like it. It does not take any strength to use, it cuts well, I had a very slight easily taken care of, I need to split my multi vitamins not only because they are to large for me to swallow easily but the docter said to split vitamins between am and PM to make sure all the vitamin is absorbed and used. Anyway, when you cut a multivitamin, any brand, they are course and rough on the inside and once sliced, no problem with that, the blade got a little stuck on the inside rough texture of the vitamins (I tried 2 different brand's) so I had to tap the sides then hold it upside down and tap the wiggle the lid to get the 'knife' out of the pill, this sounds harder than it was. I have a tried another pill, not a vitamin, with no problems.I love it has so many sized slots and they work very well, on both sides, each side has slightly different sizes from each other. I have a had a very slight hiccup with one round pill (but it still worked WAY better and easier then the V shaped splitters.),it fit in only one slot but as most of the round shapes are on one side and share the slot with a oplog shape the fit is not tight side to side in the slot and if you tilt or are not careful if you move the device the round pill could slide to the edge of the oblong/round slot, again sounds worse/harder than it is. If you are cutting a round or smallish pill keep your hand over the holes on the lid, once the force of cutting made half the pill fly out of the cutter and landed on my shoulder. lol All in all I like it. I am 63 and sometimes I get pain in my fingers making it hard to grip and my hands are weaker, this gave me no problems in using it. When you open the lid the blade goes in a sheath so no danger of cut fingers. Having 2 identical trays of pill slots is nice. Since most of my pills are white I find it is the easiest for me to see them in the green tray.

I have a couple prescriptions that require the pills to be cut in half. With other pill cutters it was a time consuming operation try to line up a small football shaped pill in a round pill cutter. Usually it would never cut them exactly in half. lI have no idea it that makes any medical difference or not but it is frustrating. Now I can cut a 90 day supply in half easily all at once as the pill has no chance to turn while closing and cutting anymore. The two changable discs cover a large variety of shapes and sizes.

This product is so fantastic. It has helped me immensely. I have SO many meds I have to take. And splitting meds can be messy. This tool splits them quickly, cleanly and safely. The blade stays inside when it is open so you never see it, never touch it. The round pill selector comes out and flips over with other choices on other side. This is my only pill cutter from now on. Will be buying some now for gifts. Don’t know when I was so happy with a product. My husband thought I was crazy that I was so elated with such a simple product....but he hasn’t tried it yet.

but no holes for the medicine I need to split in half. of all the holes on this thing I thought for sure there is one for my medicine but no not one will hold in place and then you have to adjust to center and when you split it one half is in piecesthe medicine I am talking about is Buspirone, if you need it for this one doesn't work. I haven't tried others I was so frustrated sent it back.

After essentially buying a mortar and pestle with the last pill cutter I bought, I was relieved to get this one and actually have my pills cut in two pieces... what a great cutter! It has two wheels of multiple sized pill holders to keep any size pill in place for the blade, which is also works in a way that you don't cut your finger either - unless you are really creative. Excellent product - hoping the blade stays sharp for a long time!

I thought with all of the different size pill slots that I would be able to find one that would fit my pills. Well the one and only pill (round) that I need to split is too large for one slot and too small for the next larger. I get two different wheels with slots in them but both are the same. I thought they would be for different sizes. When I tried splitting one of my pills it was just as uneven as my current pill splitter. So for me this was a waste of money.

Wouldn't recommend. Green and gray disks cut rhe same size pills and are provided to avoid cross contamination. Outside shell is extremly fragile. Can't spin the interior piece. Overall it cuts the pills but doesnt have as many options as i first believed and is cheaply made.

At best this device is impossible to use due to it's poor design. The device does not cut the pills but rather crushes or otherwise ruins the pills. The design does not allow one to position the pill for a precise cut because the cavity into which the pill sets is too deep to allow the pill to be properly positioned to be cut in half.As sated it above it is a poor design that will not be easy to use OR yield satisfactory results.I wish I would have tried to use it when it was still eligible for return.Such junk!
