Affresh Ice Machine Cleaner, Removes Hard Water & Mineral Buildup, 16 Fl Oz

I bought this product from a recommendation for mold smell and this product is the first one to clean my tabletop ice machine and get rid of the smell. The quality of this product is spot on and it has NO smell of leave any residue. My ice is so good now and the mold smell has gone. I am gonna use this product from now on because of the effectiveness that it provides. It is very cost effective also. The bottle will last for 3 cleanings of the machine and is well worth it!

Works as advertised!

I was hesitant at first to purchase this for my FirstBuild (GE) Opal Nugget Ice Maker 1.0 not knowing if it would be compatible with it. I no longer have any hesitation regarding using this with my nugget ice machine after my first cleaning using Affresh. I thought my machine was on it's last leg considering the reputation this ice machine has for reliability and maintenance. It was producing a few nuggets of ice before going into defrost mode or just shutting off with a flashing yellow ring. I tried cleaning it with vinegar per manufacturer recommendations with no change in ice production. I refused to pay $30 for the official Opal Ice Machine cleaner, then I found Affresh. I drained the machine, switched it to cleaning mode, filled it with the bottle of Affresh and then 32 ounces of tap water and ran the cleaning cycle. I ran the cleaning cycle approximately eight times which may be overkill but I didn't have much to lose at this point. After running the cleaner through, I drained the machine and rinsed it using the cleaning cycle approximately 4 times making sure to use fresh water each cycle and then refilled it with fresh water, and switched the machine to ice mode. My Opal Nugget Ice Machine is now making ice as fast if not faster than when it was new. It takes a lot to impress me, but this cleaner managed to do that. I highly recommend it for all the Opal ice machines. It's much cheaper than the official cleaning solution and much more effective and a lot faster than using vinegar to clean the machine (vinegar cleaning process takes approximately 18 hours to complete per manufacturer instructions). If you have an Opal Nugget Ice Machine that appears to be on it's last leg and isn't producing much ice look no further than Affresh ice machine cleaner as a first step to take when troubleshooting ice production issues. You gotta slightly modify the directions on the bottle but it's a very simple process. A couple other things to mention is to make sure you use distilled water in your machine if possible. It cuts down on how often you have to clean the machine. Also I have the first version of the Opal Ice Machine made by FirstBuild who is affiliated with GE, but I'm assuming it will work great with the GE labeled version and also the new GE Opal 2.0 Ice Maker as well.

I have been an avid cleaner of my opal ice machine. I have had 3 actually due to the ice production stopping and slowing down even tho I followed their cleaning instructions meticulously. I bought Affresh after reading some reviews and thought why not? Let’s see if it works! I unplugged my machine and let it sit for an hour as the instructions with the appliance states. I had noticed my machine has gotten more noisy in the past week. It was literally so loud. So I pour the cleaner in and water and turn the cleaning cycle on. The noise started. After the second push of the cleaning button the noise has STOPPED. My machine is still currently cleaning as I sit and type. Going on round 6 of the cycle and no noise. I cannot wait to see what comes out of the water pipes when I drain. This is so much faster and easier than letting your machine soak in vinegar for 18 hours. I love my pebble ice and cannot go 18 hours without it. One of the pics above shows the mineral deposits that came out during cleaning. I added a pic when I drained after cleaning cycle. LOOK at all that gunk! 🤢 I’m guessing my machine will be working like new after using Affresh!
