Its configuration can be greatly modified
OK, so this review is for someone who wants to modify or change the factory configuration to fit your need. My old patio cover was built over my roof, leveled and extended 4ft out from my foundation. My foundation is only 18ft x 8ft and my eave already extended out and covers 4ft of it. Iโve looked at many patio covers to see if I can modify to fit what I need, but many of them are fixed configuration. I know that I want to: 1) Make it leveled and over my roof (not angle down like this factory configuration), 2) Extend it 4ft out from my foundation for better rain/shade coverage, 3) Re-use my existing columns if I can, and 4) Extend it to the same height as my columns for better breeze/air flow. You may wonder why I want it leveled and how the water drainage is going to work out. Well, I want it leveled because it looks better, and for the water drainage, this one has smooth roof panels so water can easily run off either to front or back as I had a similar one before. After looking at the assembling video of this patio cover, I decided to purchase this one because I think I can modify the configuration of this one to suit my need. I purchased the 20ft x 10ft. They sent me two (2) 10ft x 10ft sets with extension kit.Modification: I kind of knew that the posts are shorter than my 8ft columns but couldn't tell exactly how much shorter from the specs and descriptions until I received them. The posts are 82.5", not even 7ft tall. If I install them angle as the factoryโs configuration and 4ft out from my foundation, the front-end could be as low as 6ft. Itโs too low for me. So as I thought, I am going to modify them anyway. My current column height is actually around 8.5ft due to the extended base and cap. There are 4 posts included for this 20ft x 10ft configuration. So since I am going to re-use my columns, I'll have 2 extra posts and will use them to extend the other 2 posts to match the height of the columns. I cut 2 pieces of 20" from one of the unused posts. I then went to Lowes/Home Depot and purchased 4 pieces of 10" long L-shape galvanized connectors that is normally used to connect house frame structures together. While there, I looked for the screws with the thinnest heads that I could find so I'll use to connect the posts together. I painted these screws white to match the column color. I inserted 2 pieces of L-shape connectors inside the posts and the 20โ extensions pieces. Two L-shape connectors forms a rectangle shape, which fits perfectly inside these posts for strong connections. I drilled holes on both sides and attached them together. The result is a rock solid strong connection. The white thin-headed screws blend in well and itโs hard to see the seams are there.I then use the 4 extra pieces that form the bases for unused posts and mounted them on top of my column caps. It lined up and levels with the groove of the beam perfectly. I didnโt have to drill extra holes and even use the same screws were provided. To mount it on top of my roof, I use treated wood, cut them as 10โ blocks, attached them to the roof with long non-rusted screws, and attach the patio cover back-end frame to these blocks. After itโs fully assembled, itโs about 9ft from the foundation to the roof panels (instead of 6ft at the front-end as the original configuration). I feel much better standing under it. It actually looks better in person with the columns than in the attached photos here.Material & Quality: The materials are excellent. The whole structure frames are aluminum and the roof panels look like theyโre going to last beyond 15 years to me. Thatโs why they guarantee 10yrs. Iโll give it 5 stars for the material & quality.Design: I would say itโs well designed because there is groove in every joint and the beam, which allow you to adjust the angle and the size of foundation to suit you need. It blocks the sun but bring in light through the roof panels. And with the height I modified, I love the feeling being under it and the cool air it provides. Iโll give it 5 stars for the design.Instruction: Instruction is fairly easy to understand for guys/gals who deal with some handy-works, not necessary technical works.Cost: I have looked at many other 20ft x 10ft patio covers and theyโre around $1,400 โ $1,600. However, they do not allow me to modify for my need. That said, itโs a 4-star for the cost to me.Bottom line: The bottom line is that my friends and I like the modified version that I did than the original configuration. The big deal is that my wife likes the modification result. She and my 6-yrs old daughter are happy :). BTW, I installed all of this by myself. Oh waitโฆ my wife has helped something. She made some lemonade and brought me a few timesโฆ LOL! Have a great day!

Great
We bought this to cover part of outside deck. It is great. Went up in a few hours with two people working together. Easily understood directions. No problems at all. Love the fact that sunlight can get through with out the harmful rays. Looks great too. We did not have some of the problems others described. We had a huge wind and rain storm a few days ago that brought down trees and power line and it held up great. We have even suggested this to our friends who are in the market for something similar. Thanks for a great product. It is now spring where I live and just wanted to say that patio cover held up great over our harsh winter. I was a bit worried when we got back snow storms or over 12 inch of snow each storm. But the product held up great. I was able to some of the snow of between the storms but looks like I did not need to really worry about it. Looking forward to using this summer.

Love this canopy
Instructions were very easy to follow. My wife and I put this up in about six hours. Curious to see how it will last During the northeast winters.

Well built, nice looking, worth the investment. They could make a few changes.
I love the patio cover. There are some things to think about. Measurements are not very clear. I got a 24'x10'. My patio was 22' x 8.5' so I thought I could let it hang over the edge of the patio and go over the roof line from a kitchen nook. It worked in my mind, but not in reality. The front of the cover (lowest side) is a fixed size I think it was 8' but you can't find that measurement on the documentation before you buy. So if you have any obstructions make sure of your measurements. An odd thing, they have you build the gutter in step 3 I think and it goes on last. The end cap for the gutter needs to be put on before you attach it to the roof. They should put that part of the assembly instructions closer to when its actually put on. The instructions are hard to follow. There are no written explanations, just photos. BAD. They are hard to understand at times so it takes extra time to "think" about it before you assemble. I read a review that the rubber seal between the two kits wasn't a great fit and it leaked. I think that's fixed because its bigger then the slot so it raises the rubber in the middle should be fine. The cover is really nice. I live in Oregon and it rains too much. I like to be outside. So now I can get out during any weather. The light comes through the roof nicely. I didn't notice that there was any difference with the sun light level coming into the house. When it rains the roof makes a hum like the sound. Reminds me of a WWII bomber airplane engine, but not bad.I had an issue with Amazon calling me about setting up a delivery date. The lady was so hard to understand (her English) I had to call another rep, he couldn't figure out the problem, so the third person I called finally told me what it was all about.I complained today because the price dropped $400.00 even before I got the product, but they wouldn't refund me anything. So I love the patio cover, the installation took about 8 hours. One other thing there were two parts that go the full length of the cover (the bracket that hooks to the house and the gutter). They were split/cut differently. The bracket was split 10', 10' and 4' to total 24' and the gutter was split 7', 7', 7' to total 24'. We had to cut one of the gutter pieces with a saw (again my fault for measuring wrong) but the other one we just left out the four foot section.I have four extra panels if anyone wants them. All in all not a bad project. I love the way it looks too.
