Stable, sturdy coat rack
Made in China, but 1. no odor whatsoever 2. arrived undamaged 3. had all its parts 4. easy to assemble, good instruction sheet 5. does not wobble even on my slanted carpeted floor 6. not stylish, but not ugly either 7. eminently functional Assembly took me about 40 minutes all by my 71 year old self (with arthritic hands and not much hand strength). Only tool needed was the included allen wrench. I built from the bottom up instead of the top down (as the instructions seemed to indicate). This gave me a stable base to work with. I do suggest that you only hand tighten the screws until you get them all in place for each section. Especially when you assemble the middle pieces with the lower row of hooks. You need to do just a little jiggling to get everything to line up and, if you tighten the screws too much as you put the hooks in, the last hook may be difficult to put on. The hardest part for me was screwing in the filial on top as it required more hand strength than I had. Laid the coat rack across my lap so I could get a good grip on the thing and was able to eventually get it screwed in. Should not be a problem for someone with normal hand strength. The very top hooks (the ones that stick out above the filial) should only be for hats or very lightweight items or you may shift the center of gravity enough to cause tipping. I've got mine now loaded with raingear, winter coats, sweaters, flannel shirts and a couple of knit hats. Seems very stable, very sturdy and works very well to keep items I need near the door.

Wow! So worth the price!
I ordered this with the option of returning because I don’t expect much since it’s currently reduced and has a coupon. But whoah, it is REALLY nice for the price! The only lighthouse is that the posts are only in thin plastic bag/sleeves and one of them had some scratches but a black sharpie made them practically disappear. Super simple assembly - great design in that all parts connect with one size screw and the corresponding hex key is provided as well. I really love the quality and finish and I am impressed that it’s as tall as it is. The top decorative cap piece is really pretty too! It’s very balanced and my 2 sons and I will each use a peg leaving the 4th for company. I am super pleased with this purchase!

Good Value; Low-end of quality spectrum but still durable
I bought this to replace another $25 wooden coat rack that snapped in half after it fell. This product is a good value for the money. PROS: 1. The product has a lot more hooks that alternative products (12 well-spaced hooks total versus 4-8 hooks) and is capable of holding many more coats, including multiple items per hook. 2. The hooks are shaped well and thus coats don't fall off easily 3. Simple construction with everything provided that is needed (including screw driver and allen wrench) 4. Rack can support a lot of weight, feeling sturdy even with ~10 heavy winter coats on it 5. Product doesn't look cheap, especially from afar. (Your standards may vary from mine, but this product is in the $20 range.) CONS: 1. PRODUCT WOBBLES: Product comes entirely in pieces that you put together. The legs are made of easily bendable metal. I'm not sure if it's just my product that wobbles, or if it's just the result of the design. The base should have been one piece for the sake of quality. 2. NOT STABLE: Even if you eliminate the wobble (put your foot on the base so it doesn't wobble), the product still wobbles slightly because of instability in the central rod, which weighs more than the base. My product has not fallen yet even with a heavy coat load, but it feels like it might if a heavy coat were on one side without any weight on the other side. If the base's legs were wider, this wouldn't be an issue.

Great purchase!
This is a great coat rack. Reading some of the other reviews has left me scratching my head. Maybe older orders received a different product? Pictures on other reviews don't seem to depict this one (the one I received looks exactly like the one advertised) and there is no part 'O' as described by another reviewer. I will say that some pictures depict a base that has rounded legs and what looks like one center screw holding it all together, This one has wider, more oval legs on the base, and is held together at the bottom by 4 screws, quite securely. This arrived nicely packaged, all parts intact, no rust, all pieces are heavily lacquered and shiny black. The instructions are pretty self explanatory, and even helpfully tell you in what order you should assemble the parts. The center upright piece does screw in quite snugly to the bottom upright piece (it doesn't just sit in it like a previous reviewer stated, there is a large double ended screw included just for that purpose) and it is quite steady. The screws are secured using a hex wrench which is helpfully included. The screw holes are tight, and do require a bit of elbow grease to get the screws seated snugly, but that is good as it means the screws aren't going anywhere once they are in. I was pleasantly surprised at the size and sturdiness of this coat rack, especially for the budget-minded price. I put it together in about 10 minutes, and it is now holding my 10 lb purse, two hats, and 5 jackets quite well. I purposefully didn't hang things equally, just to see if it would wobble or tip, and it did not. I am very pleased with my purchase!

Great item and price!
Easy to assemble and perfect for hanging items. I sell items in a artisan shop and use it for hanging my purses. But would make a great coat rack as well.

a little tippy
This is an excellent coat rack. I am a short person so it is very tall for me. It is a little tippy. Assembly was a little rough. Still can not get the bottom to sit level. Very pretty all in all great and holds a lot.

It does the job. Sort of.
The coat rack is relatively easy to assemble, and comes with all the tools that you need. The parts themselves are of good quality, and (most) everything fits together as it should. The one gripe I have is what's resulting in a 3-star review instead of a 5-star review, and it's due to a bad design decision. The rack is not well-balanced, and will lean to one side if you put a heavier coat on a specific side of the rack without first counter-weighting the other side of the rack with other coats. This is a result of the design of feet and legs. The feet themselves are very small with a small surface area, and the legs stand vertical (as opposed to being arched,) so all of the weight is distributed directly on to the small feet and none of the weight can be spread throughout an arched leg. Because of the smaller surface area on each foot, there's very little room for error when weight is over-distributed to one side of the rack, and this results in the rack leaning to one side -- the weight can't be spread throughout an arched leg, and instead, it's all pushed onto a small foot which doesn't have the surface area to properly distribute the weight onto the floor. I also noticed that two of the feet sit ever-so-slightly higher than the other two feet, however, this can mostly be adjusted by loosening/tightening the both sets of leg until all four feet sit mostly level. It will hold coats like it's supposed to, however, you can't overload one side of the rack without it leaning over to one side or tipping over.

Un bon porte manteau
Il n'est pas trop large ni trop haut. Il est solide et facile à assembler. Il a tenu nos manteaux d'hiver + accessoires + hoodies sans problème

super sturdy and easy to assemble
I was searching for a very sturdy and solid coat rack, and this is it. We have heavy leather coats, scarves, umbrellas, and it handles all of it.
