Dont throw away your grinder
Work as they should. Such an easy replacement, I would hate being the person that buys a new grinder when this is such a cheap and easy fix

I learned something new
I have never changed brushes in anything. I wasn't really sure what a brush was. I had been buying the cheap harbor freight grinders but they would fail (maybe it was only the brushes?). My last angle grinder was a Dewalt. It worked great until last week when it died while sharpening a lawn mower blade. I almost threw it in the trash but felt I would try changing the brushes. Once I got inside the machine, the internals made sense to me as well as the brushes getting worn down. It was not difficult to change because I had already watched a couple of youtube videos. Without those videos it probably would have taken much longer. To my surprise and delight, it fired right up after I put it back together. I'll probably get another 5 years out of it. Better yet, I now have an understanding of brushes and will not hesitate to change them on any machine I have.

Quality???
I ordered 2 pairs about a month apart. The first set only lasted about 2 weeks before the wire came loose from the carbon brush itself. I am careful to clean the inside of the grinder while the case is open so I'm really not sure why the first set failed. Second set is working fine! I use my DeWalt 6" grinder/cutoff machine everyday in a production custom fabrication shop for overhead cranes and lifting devices.
