BEST TONGS I have ever used! -- Great functional design; Extremely well-built & Durable; Fantastic performance & Minimal upkeep!
These are the BEST tongs I have ever owned. I initially purchased the 12-inch size, but I liked it so much I then purchased the 9-inch and 16-inch size to complete the set. These are some of my favorite kitchen tools and so I highly recommend these tongs. I've had a lot of tongs that have warped, melted, broke, did a poor job grasping food, etc. Part of this reason was because I was too cheap to buy nice tongs. It took me a little while to bring myself to buy these more expensive OXO Good Grips Tongs, but I am really glad I did. THE DESIGN The construction of these is a brushed stainless steel frame with (removable) rubberized silicone inserts to give you more grip. These tongs can lock closed via a mechanism which is a pull-push lever located on the back. The portion of the tongs that makes contact with food is bare stainless steel. As I cook on stainless clad cookware that is safe to use stainless utensils with, this is exactly what I wanted (if you have non-stick cookware, certain coating types can be damaged by these as a heads-up.) If your cookware can safely support stainless utensils, THIS set with stainless steel heads will yield maximum performance & durability. THE BUILD QUALITY & PERFORMANCE Beyond everything else, these tongs are SUPER easy to grasp food with and do a fantastic job at preventing food from slipping. Even if that food is heavy or covered in [slippery] oil, these tongs maintain a stable grip. The finish is simple, consistent, and functionally beneficial. Brushed stainless hides scratch/usage/hard water markings, plus it increases stain/corrosion resistance. The silicone inserts are tough, heat-resistant, can be removed for cleaning or replacement, and firmly lock into place so they do not pop out randomly. The mechanism to lock these closed is oversized & easy to use (even with gloves/mitts on), strong as can be, and accessible (the hanging hole is convenient.) The spring is heavy duty and after years of almost daily usage it still shows no sign of fatigue. The hinge is also heavy-duty and has not developed excessive lateral play. In fact, despite heavy & frequent usage, my tongs still look and function like the day I bought them. OXO clearly spent a lot of time with the research & development because they made a product that is very functional and very durable. CLEANING These are low maintenance and do not need special cleaning care at all. I usually clean these in the dishwasher without removing the silicone inserts and they come out perfect every time. If there is a lot of caked-up food on them, I sometimes clean them with a metal polish called Bar Keeper's Friend (amazing stuff.) These tongs have held up like a champ to countless cleaning cycles & the use of cleaning chemicals/polishes. SIZES---WHICH SIZE??? I initially purchased the 12-inch size and it is the size I use the most. With that said, I LOVE the 16-inch for when I am doing something in which more distance is desirable, such as if I am turning bacon as 16 inches puts a nice distance between my hand & the scalding-hot popping grease. And while the 9-inch is the size I use the least, it is still great to have when I am making something in a smaller pot as that reduced form factor makes it a little more nimble. So while I think all three sizes are very useful, if you are only going to purchase one size, I recommend the 12-inch. SO THIS IS AN INVESTMENT OF A QUALITY KITCHEN TOOL THAT WILL LAST So if you are thinking, "hey, these cost more than many other tongs I have seen," I understand where you are coming from as I've been there myself. However, I highly recommend spending the few extra bucks on these OXO Good Grips as that small price premium gets you a product of exceptional quality: not only will these tongs last a very long time to offset the higher purchase price, but their good functional design makes using them more convenient (and therefore more enjoyable.) Convenience and enjoyment can encourage cooking more often, and when cooking more often one can save money over eating out, and arguably eat much healthier. So like other premium kitchen tools, I see these quality tongs as an investment. (PICTURE NOTE: The attached pictures show the 12-inch and 16-inch sizes, with various angles showing the different features & the sturdy build quality of these tongs.)

Oxo quality comes through again
Bought these little tongs to use as a cooking tool with the air fryer and they are working out great. The smaller size makes it easier to more accurately turn and move food in the bucket, better than trying to maneuver two forks. They are more like an extension of fingers and easy on my arthritic hands. Locking mechanism works just as well on this small size as the larger size. Easy cleanup in the dishwasher. Already bought a second pair as backup. Oxo quality is always worth a try, and it is worth the money. Highly recommended.

Best grill tongs ever
I've had these for a couple of years now, and I'm completely satisfied. No more singed forearms. No more dropping meat. These are comfortable in the hand, sturdy, with good grips that have held up in the dishwasher. I've even laid them on top of the grill lid and forgotten them for a bit, so that they were too hot to hold, but the grips didn't melt. (Not saying they WON'T if they get hot enough.) I use them at least once a week. I've had cheaper, shorter tongs that, after a period of use, the jaws just didn't line up right any more, ruining the grip on the food. Not these, even though the increased leverage of the extra distance from the jaws to the hinge would seem to put more stress on the hinge and make that misalignment even more likely. I've used them to turn half chickens, roasts and other heavy things, and little things like veggies and skewered shrimp. For lots of thinner things, you don't even have to release the latch to let them open all the way. They're kind of cumbersome when wide open and not in use, but it's a cinch to work the latch to close them and open them. Finally, the spring tension is just right. So many grill tongs have you fighting the spring just to close the jaws, making it necessary to squeeze them quite hard just to have a decent grip on the food. Not these. Just enough springiness to keep them open, which lets your grip hold the food, not fight the tongs. Great for those of us with limited grip strength. Oh, one more thing. It's no trouble at all to handle raw meat with these and keep right on using them without washing to avoid spreading bacteria. The longer length makes it easy to just place the business end right over the fire for a bit to cook off any dangerous germs, so you can go from placing the raw meat on the grill to serving it without washing the tongs or grabbing another pair. 3-year+ update: Still going strong, just ordered the 12-inch version for kitchen use.

Seems high quality and makes for a great serving tong.
These tongs are good for some low temperature cooking, but mostly I use them for somewhat casual serving that I also want to feel high quality. The metal is smooth and has a brushed finish, and they feel sturdy. The noise that the tongs make also lend to the high quality impression. It isn't a hollow or cheap sound.

Pretty good tongs
These tongs are pretty good, but there is one thing I don't like. First, the pros: they are a perfect size - long enough to keep your hands away from the heat, but not so long as to be unwieldy; they are sturdy with solid materials; the locking mechanism works great; the plastic on the handle keeps it from getting hot when I rest the tongs on the edge of a hot frying pan. The thing I don't like is the shape of the pincers. They are relatively flat (instead of curving inward, especially at the tips), so they don't grasp on to small items particularly well. For example, when I am frying zucchini slices, I find it a little difficult to get/keep a hold of the zucchini long enough to get it out of the pan and onto a paper towel. Splat - back into the hot oil it goes. As a result, I find myself reaching more often for my cheap tongs that I bought for three bucks at an industrial kitchen supply store. These are good for turning larger items like meat, though, and they work well enough as a back-up pair.

The single most useful tool in the kitchen
OK, these things are the best. Any kitchen that doesnโt have a good set of tongs in a few sizes is flying with one engine out. Theyโre the most useful tool I own after my knives. Actually, theyโre more useful than my knives. OXO makes especially good tongs, and really good kitchen gadgets across the board. The rubber grips are solid and comfortable, and they come in multiple sizes and finishes. You can get the stainless version or the ones with rubberized ends to protect nonstick pans. If I need a wedding gift for someone starting out, I never buy off the registry. I give them a chefโs knife, one or two OXO tongs, and maybe an immersion blender โ the trifecta of kitchen tools that make anyone a cook. Another super useful kitchen item is a Le Creuset Dutch oven, but what am I made of, money?

Sturdy and useful
I'm a big fan of OXO Good Grips products. They're well-made, and a good value for the money. These mini tongs are no exception. Since they're mini, I don't use them to cook (I prefer tongs with covered tips so they don't scratch my cookware) - but I use them to mix up salads and serve food. I already had one, but I bought this set of two because I used it often enough that I got tired of washing it by hand between dishwasher loads.

Smaller than I expected
These are well made and look great. Edges have been burnished so theye aren't "sharp" to touch. Spring is appropriate for the size and the stop works well. Note that they are metal ended (not plastic covered), so don't use them on Teflon. They are also too small to comfortably use for grilling - you have to be too close to the grill and can singe your hands - or for large items. But they work well for serving and for small bits. I use them almost daily.

La miglior pinza
Uso queste pinze da anni (sia con finitura antiaderente che non) e sono in assoluto le migliori! Presa perfetta e molla efficace che continua a funzionare nel tempo. Consiglio la versione piรน lunga.

Not flimsy and easy to use
This is probably what other tongs aspire to be, but fall short. It's not rocket science, this needs to pick things up time after time after time, withstand heat, have decent/robust grip, one handed action to open and lock, no warping. Ticks all round. Have had a few others and several have twisted or had grippy bits fall off. This is a solid choice.
