Perfect for 2011 Audi A5!
I have a 2011 Audi A5 Coupe and this works perfectly with the Audi Media Integration unit in the glove box. It connects automatically when the car is turned on and steering wheel controls work. Brilliant piece of kit for an older car.

Works well and easy to use.
Easy to set up, works well with decent sound quality. it’s a bit pricey but I’d rather have something that’s reliable than the minefield of alternatives that had extremely mixed reviews. Dont forget to disconnect ur phone from the car first or it’ll just keep pairing to that. I have an Audi A5 (2010) and removed my phone from the car menu first so it wasn’t trying to pair to it. It automatically pairs every time you get back in the car which is a touch.

It works really well...
...and, if I'm honest, having read some of these reviews, I didn't expect it to. I have a 2011 Audi A8, so its the D4 model. I'm using an iPhone 12 running iOS 14. After pairing to the car it connects every time the car is electrically powered and appears in the source list as iPhone. Apple music is the only menu system that loads but that is a huge improvement on the previous situation. It took a while for the menus and play lists to populate. In fact I'd taken out the car handbook to see if I was missing something and when I looked up again a few minutes later it was all there. It's controllable from the steering wheel and the songs appear between the dials if selected. The mute button on the wheel actually pauses the song or story. It will play Audible too but only if initiated from the iPhone. After that limited control, such as pause, is available from the car. The only slight glitch is, if you want to listen to music after hearing a book, the only way I've found to allow control from the car systems is to turn bluetooth off and then back on. It will still play without doing this if initiated and then controlled from the phone though. The sound quality is superb too. I only have the Bose system, not the B&O but it is crystal clear with a rich bass. I was going to get a system fitted (for lots more money) that would hijack the MMI and put Apple CarPlay on it instead but this level of functionality is enough for me. Maybe a future update could handle the phone too? I highly recommend this bluetooth dongle.

Excellent. Didn't even know this existed
I have a 2010 Mercedes convertible. I bought last year and just always accepted it was an old car and would never have the modern capabilities of my main car with Android Auto etc. I never saw the point of a Bluetooth adaptor, as they would just key in to the aux port, and give basic audio pass through. I wanted at least skip track capabilities from my driver seat. For the past year I've been using aux cables with in line remote, with a usb to 3.5mm adaptor, they did the job but often had problems breaking easily or issues with static noises. I was at the point where I was considering replacing the stock head unit for something more modern I was just browsing amazon by chance last week and came across this product, it seemed too good to be true! Plugging into the ipod connection, giving steering wheel controls, a display read out of song on the head unit. While giving all the benefits of Bluetooth not having to fiddle plugging in every time you get in the car. I thought I'd give it a try not expecting much. To my surprise it works perfectly and has completely erased any need for me to buy a new head unit! As people mention, yes it's pricey, but after a year of looking at solutions I haven't seen anything similar that actually replicates modern functionality within the old head unit. To get anything near was a new head unit at £600. So to me it's actually cheap! Thanks for guys for this amazing product!

Pricey and limited controls/information, but works and sound quality good.
The appearance is neat and build quality/finish seems good as one would expect with a product at this price. The set up instructions to pair the bluetooth to the car do not quite fit with the actual process - on my car anyway, but I figured it out and got it working. It is not perfect - the sound must be turned up on the phone to get sufficient signal through to the car audio, and then the car volume controls can be used to raise and lower the volume. You can switch between tracks (previous/next) using the car controls but on Spotify at least, you cannot change between playlists. Only a limited amount of text for each track is displayed - just the first part of the track title. However, I can now play my downloaded Spotify playlists in my car, but quite expensive for this one simple task. The plug to connect to connect the Audi MMI can be difficult to unplug but that is more of an issue with the design of the connection than this product.

Works as it should
Easy to install in AMI port, won't appear "Live" until you pair the phone. I don't seem to be able to unplug it to test in a friend's car, so that's the only downside. Or not, if you like things to stay put. No hiss and the Bluetooth connection sounds great on the B&O in mine. So well happy and would recommend. Sometimes, it *always* want to be playing music it seems (I use Sp*tify), so even when I close this down, in about five seconds the music starts again and Spotify is back running. I don't know whether this is the app or the adapter reconnecting and auto-playing. The odd time (maybe one time out of 30?), the phone is silent, even though everything is connected as it should be and the handset is on bluetooth, nothing comes through. But again, Bluetooth on anything isn't 100% predictable so could be my phone, the head unit, or the adapter. It seems to fix itself if you turn it off and on again.

Disappointed, expected better for £90
First of all for £90 I’d expect this product to work better than it does! Never connects first time, has to be disconnected and forget this device in Bluetooth settings on phone before it will even connect, if you scroll too quickly on the steering wheel controls it goes totally messed up and plays something not even in my music playlists or saved to phone just plays something totally random! Doesn’t always display correct playlist name! If it’s a cold morning you’ve got no chance of this working in the slightest!! When it works it’s good, is it £90 good? No not at all. I’ve had this since December and because it’s so temperamental I’m now thinking of replacing my Audi head unit for a Sony/Kenwood with AppleCarPlay built in as I’m sick of the aggravation trying to get this working/connected! Update. Now completely stopped working! And Invery don’t care!!

Great for iPhone XS / Mercedes Media Interface
I saw a mixture of reviews on this, mostly for Audi cars and thought I would convey my experience. Firstly my set-up: I have an iPhone XS running iOS 12.2 and recently purchased a 2010 Mercedes C Class (W204) that has the Audio 50 APS entertainment system and a Mercedes Media Interface (MMI) in the glove-box. I was looking for options to give me the ability to stream audio via bluetooth, ideally with some form of control of my phone with the steering wheel controls. I knew the easiest/cheapest option was a bluetooth receiver plugged into the aux cable, but this would definitely not provide the option of steering wheel control (beyond car volume and mute) and after some digging I found a bunch of products designed to either plug directly into the MMI socket or into the iPod 30 pin MMI interface cable. After reading several descriptions and reviews I thought I would give the Airdual 300A a try. First impressions when it arrived was that it was pretty compact. I slightly struggled to fit it in the MMI socket because the cable left the plug at a right angle and was very close to the side of the glove-box, but it did fit and one upside is that the dongle naturally sits close to one side. I switched on the ignition and the car automatically switched to the Media Interface; I was then able to pair the phone and started playing music. The one oddity was that the car display shows generic names instead of actual song titles, but after reading the instructions (!!) I noticed the section regarding minimal/advanced modes (set by a red toggle button on the dongle). After switching the dongle over to advanced mode I was then able to browse my phone music collection as well as navigate podcasts. In addition, mute on the steering wheel pauses playback on the phone and I can also navigate to the audio menu and jump tracks forward or backwards! Spotify playback is a little less slick - it works but you need to initiate playback from the phone. The Mercedes display shows track names from the last played playlist on the Apple Music app, which is a bit clunky, but skip forwards/backwards still works fine. Likewise, the steering wheel controls also allow you to jump tracks and mute still functions as pause. The instructions suggest switching to minimal mode if you are using Spotify; however in my case I use both the Music app alongside Spotify and Audible, hence I will leave it in advanced mode and accept the issue with track names on the last two not displaying correctly. So overall very pleased with the solution. It is definitely not the cheapest option, and I could have easily saved over half the price by going for a simple bluetooth receiver, but to be able to navigate the on-phone music as well as skip tracks via the steering wheel is well worth the extra money. The end result is my 9 year old entertainment system is at least as well integrated with my phone via bluetooth as many much newer cars!

The best and cheapest way to stream your music on MMI 3G High!
It's working for my 2010 Q7 which has MMI 3G High. Plug and play, also no issues to connect with the newest iPhone. The track info appears also on the car MMI and you can control track list on your MMI (steering wheel included).

Audiophile
Audiophile review....Works exactly as expected with s24 ultra and 3g+ mmi system. Do your research and don't expect miracles. Obviously it is not going to be correct file structure for spotify. Spotify is an app based system that would need a full andriod auto conversion to display the songs and folder structure properly. That being said I still use spotify and all my car dash and wheel buttons work properly with amazing sound quality considering its Bluetooth. My phone allows dual Bluetooth so this module works for music and the audi mmi onboard system works for calls. Get this and a phone mount if a spotify user on a budget and don't require a full andriod auto conversion.
