HANDMADE - Our Red Onion Marmalade is made by hand by slowly caramelising red onions with red wine vinegar for several hours to bring out the natural sugars from the onions - We enjoy it with cheese on toast but it really is good with any savoury dish.

VEGETARIAN VEGAN & GLUTEN-FREE - Claire's Handmade Red Onion Marmalade is suitable for vegetarians and vegans and is also gluten-free making it suitable for those on a Coeliac diet - Note that our factory does prepare other products that do use gluten.
MAKING OUR PRESERVES - We love making our chutneys, pickles and preserves - We have been doing it for years and have always believed that good quality ingredients are an absolute must - We never use genetically modified ingredients of any description.

Product Description ------------------- CLAIRE’S HANDMADE STORY - Claire’s Handmade began at home in 2003 with my mother’s treasured Aga jam pan, my grandmother’s plum chutney recipe, our Rayburn, some plums and a handful of glass jars. We took our Old Fashioned Plum Chutney to a local farmers market and customers loved it. It soon became obvious that we couldn’t produce enough chutney from our kitchen at home and so we moved into dedicated purpose-built kitchen. The business, in the heart of the north Cumbrian countryside on the edge of the Lake District National Park, has continued to grow and we have gained many loyal preserve-loving friends. Along the way we have won many awards and accolades for our products and continue to produce our products with the same passion and commitment as we did when we started. We are proud to be a British business, a Cumbrian business, and most importantly a family business!
